We booked a room via bookings.com but the room we booked wasn't available. The Hotel upgraded us to the largest room in the hotel for no extra cost. It made our trip!

My luxury studio and location in terms of proximity to restaurants and such in Reykjavik...

...But on the other side.....everything is central in this little town And what do you mean by calling your place room with a view???? You don't have any view. The only view I had was the view and the noise from a disco....situated 7 meters below my bedside window And paying 1000 nok for a night without any breakfast included is actually not that budget friendly

The beds, albeit small, were very comfortable. The location is excellent, right in the middle of the main shopping street. Limited parking is provided, but there are plenty of parks on the street. The reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Our room was in a building across the road and was 'brand new'. The room was very small and the combined bathroom, shower and toilet being tiny and very difficult to get into. The single beds, whilst being very comfortable, were significantly narrower than a normal single bed. Despite being new, tiles in the shower were hanging down from the ceiling and potentially posed a danger. The wi-fi did not extend into the room. We made a complaint, but this situation was not remedied during our stay. This room would be unsuitable for older folk as it is on the third floor and there is no elevator in this particular building.

Went with a group of 9 friends. 4 of us split a 3 bedroom apartment, Room 151. The apartment is across the street from the main hotel. The room was very nice. Our group did a lot of partying on this trip. This hotel room is perfect if that's what you want to do. Centrally located right on the main strip. The locals who we had back for after parties late night all said it was one nicest apartments they have seen in downtown. I would recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Iceland. There was not a lot of street noise which I read in other posts.

The jacuzzi's were broken

the NOISE... apartment is located on one of the most busiest streets... Clubs open until the early hours of the morning on the weekends so between midnight and 05.30am don't expect any sleep!

The front desk people could not have been more helpful, regardless of what was needed to make my stay a pleasure. The rooms were spotless. Might be nice to give them an increase in salary.

Our recent stay was fantastic - to have kitchen facilities and be central to eveything worked great.

Very spacious apartment with excellent views over the harbour and the city (we had a large 3-bedroom apartment), high-end, well equipped kitchen, comfortable large bed, excellent bathroom (also with a harbour view) - definitely A Room with A View! Would stay there again for sure.

No lift to the top floor - it was challenging with bags.

Across from a noisy bar and someone's back window of their car got broken out. The locals party hardy on the weekends.

Fantastic location and great value for money. Room was nicely designed and spacious. Reception staff were very helpful in booking trips and checking that they were still going ahead.

Room we stayed in over looked a club (Vegamot) so could definitely hear the music but didnt bother us too much at all.

We stayed over the weekend and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The hotel is conveniently located on the main shopping street, with plenty of access to restaurants, shopping, coffee, cafes, and the like within 5 minute walking distance. The staff was wonderful.

The only complaint is that there are 2 clubs just outside and on weekends they can be noisy. You will just have to go and join the party. Reykjavik is a party town and the hotel is not very sound proofed.

Great location, and lots of space in the apartment. On the 6th floor, the sun streams into the apartment in the afternoon, and the view of Reykjavik is lovely.

A little noisy on a Fri/Sat evening, but the room on the top floor was not so bad. The drainage is noisy, however - especially when someone is staying in the next room, and when anyone uses the lift, the vibration/mechanism reverberates into the flat which is distracting.

We stayed at room with a view from sun - wed, and we had a great time. The location is great, with easy access to everything in the city. The view looks over the rooftops of Reykajavik, out to the sea, which is lovely. We had no complaints about noise, as previously mentioned in some other reviews, but I suspect that may be because we were staying there in the week rather than over a weekend, as Reykjavik certainly does come to life on the weekend. The staff at Room with a view were fantastic, and very friendly, and were more than happy to answer all questions we had.

My only negative would be that the room does feel slightly dated, but the positives far outway this little gripe. Also, if you are planning on doing some serious cooking, the kitchen facilities are quite limited.

Location was prefect, right in city centre, less than a few minutes walk to restaurants and local supermarket. We have the 2 bedroom apartment and the rooms were a decent size, although single beds are a little small. But very clean and staff are super helpful, they make all the telephone calls for you to reserve restaurant and confirming tours.

If you are staying on Friday and Saturday night, you may have the biggest shock of your life between 1am - 4am when the night life begins. The music is so loud it seems like the windows are opened even on the 4th floor. You have people screaming and it's just noisy even if you have a room at the back of the hotel as we had other friends too and we all had sleepless nights for 2 days between these hours. However, Sunday and Monday nights were prefect.
