Very welcoming and helpful host, modern and clean rooms and super-fast internet connection.
- comfortable rooms, not very spacious but modern and seem to be quite new - very centrally situated - huge lounge with tv
- no kitchen although enough space, just a microwave and water boiler, so no possibility to prepare anything properly if not willing to go in a restaurant; the café Saxa was closed - just coffee or tea for breakfast, nothing else possible
Slept great, comfortable, clean.
You have to call to get inside the building, the bathroom light want working, and my door didn't lock.
Interior decoration is very pleasing, contemporary style. The hostess very helpful and attentive
We booked this place the night before because of a change in our travel schedule. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was! The rooms are spacious, very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Common rooms have TVs, books and games. The place is really cozy and the cafe sells delicious food. The best part was the staff! So attentive and so helpful. I have many food allergies and they went out of their way to accommodate all my requests! Wonderful people and wonderful place!
Large room Clean room Friendly and helpful owner/operator Free internet
Limited options for dining
- New rooms - Clean
- Absolutely low value-for-money - No breakfast included in price - Place has no atmosphere (buildingw as formerly a supermarket..) -
Perfect location. Clean spacious (in Icelandic terms) room with long and soft beds. Very friendly staff. Restaurant. Good quality wi-fi
It was kind of chilly in the room and the heater was of no big help because of the rives of the side door which opens into the outside. Had to cover the rives with towels
The guest house owners put time and effort into making your stay as enjoyable as possible - the rooms are updated, the menu for all meals is satisfying - even late arrivers can still get a warm bowl of soup and something to drink. The town is quaint and peaceful.
Very quiet.good lounge upstairs.nice bathroom.
Had to pay for breakfast.and that was just okay. Only one other place to eat in town.
We got the split level loft room. The double bed actually was a double bed, not just 2 beds pushed together. Easy to find. On-site dinner, personal attention of the owner/hostess.
The hostess was nice and friendly catering to every need, if at times a little too in your face.
If you plan to see the amazing eastern fjords, Saxa Guesthouse is a very good idea to stay for a night or two. Located in the centre of small town of Stöðvarfjörður in the picturesque fjord of the same name, the guesthouse is newly renovated with simple but very clean and nice rooms. There is a restaurant/cafe in the building where you just have to try local, home-style fish dishes. Last but not least - the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Everything was OK.
Friendly host and convenient location on the fiord. It was convenient that she provided an early evening simple dinner in her attached café.
Helena (hope that's right) the host was very accommodating. We had brought supper as we were told there was little in town, but she would have made supper for use. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms clean. Excellent customer service.
Perfect spot to sleep when you are touring the Road N.1. You have a lot of landscapes and nice views. - Really friendly staff, clean and modern rooms. - Internet works well, you have a bar/restaurant in the hotel
they are not pleased if you aren't, very friendly, we had 2 rooms, both had new furniture, good breakfast with homemade bread, a lot of options for dinner, which was well cooked and reasonably priced, quiet village, astonishing scenery, a small fjord surrounded by beautiful mountains, one of the most customer-oriented hotels during our 14 days trip through Iceland, good location for a stop between Egilsstaðir and Jökulsárlón
