Geysir is the world’s oldest known geyser and one of the most impressive. Eruptions can hurl boiling water up to 60 metres into the air. Eruptions may be infrequent, and have in the past stopped altogether for years at a time, but currently they are occurring about three times a day on average.
Thingvellir was made a national park in 1928 because of its historical importance and because of its special tectonic and volcanic environment. Cracks or faults run throughout the area, the largest, Almannagjá, being a veritable canyon. One of these faults is known as Peningagjá, or Penny Canyon, because it is littered with coins at the bottom. Legend has it that if you make a wish and then throw in a coin; if you see the coin hit the bottom then your wish will come true.
Gullfoss is a waterfall on Hvítá (The White River) in south central Iceland. The flow of the river from regular rains and glacial runoff makes Gullfoss the largest volume waterfall in Europe and one of the most spectacular sights in the world.

Hotel looked brand new, nice rooms, free Internet, good stop on the Golden Circle/Ring Road. Surroundings not very nice (Selfoss isn't pretty or interesting to visit), but that has nothing to do with the hotel. |

Está situado frente a un río con una vista muy espectacular. El desayuno no está mal (incluido en el precio). En todos los hoteles de Islandia no tienen café descafeinado ni dejan leche caliente (es bastante extraño). |

Schöne Lage für ein Stadthotel. Gute Küche. Langsame, demotivierte Mitarbeiter. zB wurden die Tische vom Vorabend nicht abgeräumt, dieser Teil des Restaurants mit einem Vorhang verdeckt - nur war die Kaffeeausgabe beim Frühstück in diesem Bereich. |

De ramen konden geopend worden, wat erg lekker was. Verder hadden wij een kamer gekregen aan de rivierzijde - met een mooi uitzicht op een bergmassief. Het ontbijt was goed. Een aantal personeelsleden aan receptie en in restaurant waren super, maar lang niet iedereen leek erg op toeristen ingesteld, vreemd genoeg ... In het beddegoed zaten meerdere gaatjes en de badkamer was wel schoon, maar de kalkaanslag o.i.d. was duidelijk al langer aanwezig. |

Die Auswahl am Frühstückbüffet war gut. Der Frühstücksraum war großzügig eingerichtet und man hatte einem schönen Blick auf den Fluss. Wiir waren in den alten Zimmern untergebracht, ob die Zimmer im neuen Track auch so marode sind können wir nicht beurteilen. Unser "Nichtraucherzimmer" hatte einen Aschenbecher und stank nach Zigarettenrauch. |

Sehr schönes Zimmer mit wunderschönem Echtholzmobiliar. Kollektion von Shampoos und anderen nützlichen Dingen inklusive. Alles - wie auch das gesamte Hotel - räumlich sehr großzügig. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Erkundung des GOLDEN CIRCLEs. Frühstücksbuffet zu einfallslos und simpel (wie übrigens in allen anderen Hotels Islands, die ich kennengelernt habe auch...). Wasser aus der Leitung riecht wie Stinkbombe - ist wohl geschwefelt und kommt in anderen Hotels Islands ebenfalls vor, irritiert anfangs jedoch etwas |
