hospitality friendly enviroment conf and original decoration
The greeting was excellent, guided tour and the guy on reception was very helpful. Breakfast was made although we were leaving before normal breakfast times. Lounge very comfortable and all facilities (inc. hot tub) were available
The guesthouse is a revamped old peoples home and you can tell on the shared toilet (emergency bell) and concrete floor.
Very quite guest house. Room is very stylish! Very tasty breakfast!
Wifi only in hall. You can't eat your food in living room
- location and view - room size is spacious - good breakfast - lovely common space and facilities
stunning landscape, great place to stay and comfortable
the hot tub ! obviously :) and the total confidence concerning the bar. the breakfast was very nice as well with the assortment of jams.
Our room had a view to the sea and hill on the opposite side. Shabby chic decoration beautiful and makes the guesthouse absolute unique. They also have a hot tub outside. Was fun to sit in the hot while it was snowing. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Everything was perfect, and my only complaint is because I am very tricky with noises, but overall the stay was perfect.
The door for the bathrooms are very noisy, everytime a guest uses it, no matter at what time of night, the locker makes a lot of noise. Owners should change the locks for a quiter ones.
Comfortable place. Big living room and lobby. Nice view.
Room a little bit small.
Setting of the guesthouse on the fjord and outside of the city, breakfast, bedding and beds were very comfortable. Horses were in the pasture. Peaceful and quiet setting
That is was an old nursing home. The owners have done a marvelous job of converting to a guesthouse. With a few more changes they could make it more of a hotel setting instead of a converted nursing home. The guesthouse was spotless, staff great
Ambiance. Facilities. Breakfast very complete. Fantastic location. Cleaness. Kindness of the staff. Confort.
awesome northern lights!!!!!, great rolled minipancakes for breakfast
1 bathroom had flooding
It was spacious and clean, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We went horseback riding! And it was quiet at night, I slept great
The wifi didn't really work in the room- but it did work if you went down the hall to the common living room.
Good comfort Good service Overall a nice place
Bed cover too small on single room. It all looks and feels too hospital like, I miss the warm tone in all the white.
We loved the area, very calming and relaxing. The hot tub was great and we really enjoyed our breakfast each morning.
My partner and I would have liked to have access to a fridge to store left overs from dinner we had in town, as we visited in the fall and the guesthouse restaurant did not have dinner available.
In the countryside 10 mins drive from Akureyri with black sand beach and horse stables a short stroll outside - riding available. We had a large, clean comfortable room with a wash basin and a choice of well appointed shared bathrooms down the hall. The hot tub looked fun but we didn't have time to use it. Nice breakfast.
Had to drive into Akureyri for dinner (at the excellent Strikio) as the restaurant had closed down for the winter.
Really lovely furnishing. Staff is friendly and helpful. Comprehensive breakfast. Free hot tub. Delightful situated at a lake. Free parking in front of the building.
The house is badly soundproofed, the opening and closing of the rooms are quite noisy.
The staff were lovely and their efforts to turn this former old folks' home into a special and cute place to stay are evident and successful. The rooms were also a very decent size compared to most we stayed in Iceland and the bed was very comfy.
The heavy locks and handles on every single door that echo all the way down the corridor every time someone needs the bathroom ALL.NIGHT.LONG = not the best night's sleep despite the silence awarded by the stunning and remote location. Wifi barely worked in the rooms, only in the common areas.
Last two day we saw northern light just infront the guesthouse . It's amazing !
The hot tub outside was a wonderful bonus!
Property was beautiful, right on the water. There was a beautiful hot tub in the back, great lounge area with bar and rooms were quite, peaceful and comfortable.
Bathrooms are shared (a couple per hallway) however went off season so there were no issues. Bathrooms were super nice and clean just know some people would be picky about that, otherwise stay was fantastic.
The guesthouse has an amazing setting on the fjord. The restaurant is fantastic and the staff very helpful.
Great view o the fjord and very quiet and relaxing , the mattress is best in Iceland
The rooms are minimalist if and the floor of poor quality and shared baths
Clean rooms with comfortable beds. The hotel is decorated in a tasteful way. Amazing ocean view from most rooms and the dining room. Good restaurant and breakfast.
The decor was agreeable and about a ten minute drive to the Akureyri city center. Generally a decent option.
The building feels like a large dorm, and although private rooms, a bit impersonal. We woke up a bit sore from the beds and the hallways echoed quite loudly in the middle of the night. Feel the stay was overpriced.
