Vegamót is an elegant but casual two floor Bistro. It is one of those places that have the wonderful quality of being all in one, bistro, café and a bar.
The decor is rich on the Mediterranean side, yet elegant with jazzy ambience.
During the summer tables are brought out to a cozy terrace sheltered from the wind where one can enjoy a light meal or a cup of coffee.
Vegamót are famous for their fresh fish of the day, served lunch hours and onwards.
Prices are very reasonable for the quality, portions, and presentation of the dishes and there is a wide selection of decadent desserts for those who make it that far.
The selection of good beer is excellent and food is served from noon until evening every day.

Very convenient hotel, perfect location in the main street, good and clean room, very good breakfast, nice staff. The wired internet ethernet conection had to be clarified previously in order to have the proper connection. |

Very central location, good breakfast, clean facilities and a large room. Helpful front-desk staff. Noise from the street below during the weekend nights was very loud, could not sleep without earplugs. TV in the room was very old and had bad reception. Hotel room style was very old-fashioned but not in a good way. |

All basics were solid. Location was central & conveient to lots, Staff was cordial and helpfull. Night drapes were not particularly effective. Breakfast was routine. Need a strong grab bar by entry steps at front door. Was a bit noisy but this is a city so have to expect some disturbance. Social pub behind hotel does not help. |

Staff was knowledgable and helpful. Rom was clean, tidy and functional. Hotel is on a main through street. It was a bit noisy at night but it was city noise, i.e. traffic, car horns, local bar music, street sweepers, etc. Has to be expected, you are not in a country setting. Long daylight hours and inefficient night blinds let in a lot of light but also to be expected in summer. |

Convenient, easy to book on-line, staff was excellent, breakfast was very good, nice to have internet access. The room was on the smaller size but worked well for us and was clean and comfortable. |

Very conveniently placed hotel in middle of town and although road outside was busy at night the double glazing cut down on any noise from outside. Breakfast good in pleasant restaurant with nice views, and all day tea/coffee machine available. Very good value for money and would definitely recommend and return again. |

CenterHotel Skjaldbreid was efficient, friendly and central. With the financial crisis in Iceland, it is also reasonably priced if you're coming from a different currency. They present a good breakfast. You couldn't really ask for more. |

We had a great time here. The location is brilliant, very central - literally right in the center of all shops, restaurants and bars. The staff were very helpful and friendly, they booked all our trips for us and helped us a lot. The room was clean and big, cleaners came everyday but not until after lunchtime which I thought made a big difference. Breakfast was nice and there is free tea and coffee available all day. Great hotel and very reasonable price. |

The Location was perfect, the breakfast was good value, the rooms were comfortable. Free internet but only one cable per room e.g only one computer/laptop at a time. As per a lot of the reviews the hotel is great Sunday to Thursday but Friday and Saturday nights suck if you want to sleep cause the main street is below and its noisey. |

The staff at the hotel was courteous and very helpful. They provided excellent recommendations on restaurants and activities. The hotel's location is also a major plus as it is smack in the middle of the city and close to restaurants, nightlife and activity centers. Also, complaints about noise on the weekend seemed to be overstated. |

Internet in the room The room are so tiny that you can hardly find a place to open a suitcase. The hotel didn't have a room with a double bed for us in the first night. The room is overpriced !!! they charge way too much for such small rooms. Our room was on the forth floor, and still it was very noisy, and we couldn't sleep !!! Avoid this hotel. |
