The views from our bedroom The sauna and hot tub Very close to very nice places! The glacier, Black sandy beaches, basalt column formations, waterfalls...
The lighting in the dining room
Small, cozy hotel with excellent food, a sauna and hot tub, and very accommodating and friendly staff. Excellent value.
The food - breakfast and dinner - was excellent! The best we had in Iceland. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was very cozy, well equipped and the location was really great - right next to Skogafoss and close to Seljalandfoss.
Meals are delicious.and great place to watch northern lights from the backyard
Not only were the facilities very good but the food in the restaurant was excellent. I was only there for two days but thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
location; nice room; good breakfast; Sauna & hotpot
Nice and friendly staff; clean and comfortable rooms; location close to the famous trekking route; nice breakfast
Breakfast is normally served from 8:00 a.m. But when I told the reception staff that I would leave early in the morning, he was very helpful to arrange the breakfast an hour earlier at 7:00 a.m.
Convenient to Ring Road and Skogar Falls. Upstairs room was large with nice views out of three windows.
There seemed to be only one employee trying to do everything, which meant that service in the restaurant was a bit slow. Food was okay but not great.
Hot tub Excellent breakfast Vergy good dinner Friendly staff Location
Ceramic floor in the room (quite cold) Sink in the bathroom too small and inconveniently installed
location to Skogar falls.
Staff, food, comfort, cleanliness, ambience, views, service.
We liked everything.
Great food and friendly, helpful staff. Amazing situation by the waterfall.
We loved the manager Jim who was friendly and helpful. We have allergies to chemical smells and this place had none. I would recommend it highly!
We liked everything!
Location close to Skogafoss, friendly staff.
Dinner was very expensive, but nice - room could have done with a refurb.
The staff was extremely accommodating with special requests.
The outdoor hot tub was a significant selling feature in our decision to stay here after a full day-long hike in the rain and cold. It was broken for the duration of our stay.
Our salmon dinner was excellent
Facilities poor: rooms very small, public area non existence, bathroom tiny, sink tiny, shower small and smelly, erratic water pressure. Asked if another room was available and was told they were all the same. Bed too soft and room too warm and stuffy (window barely opened). Breakfast nothing special, nothing warm, just hope you like cereal and no fruits. Acoustical tiles missing in hall ceiling. Looked shabby. This was our most expensive hotel in Iceland and not worth it. Have loved our other hotels.
Great hotel, charming and helpful staff with perfect English, excellent restaurant and much appreciated hot pot at the end of the day. Would definitely go back.
Lovely hotel. Excellent staff and food.
Sauna was not hot and no bubbles in the hot tub.
We had a wonderful stay, the room was very comfortable and dinner was great, if you want a romantic relaxing night away from the crowds don't hesitate to stay here. Our biggest complaint was a bird singing outside our window all night!
Superb! Everything about Hotel Skogar exceeded expectations. From the well appointed room, friendly staff, cleanliness and added bonus of hot tub and sauna. The breakfast is excellent, as was the evening meal. Great value!
Nice rooms, very close to the waterfall, and extremely friendly staff. We arrived after 10:00pm and were starving, the kitchen was closed and the Irish man that was working provided us with two sandwiches, which we greatly appreciated. A nice place to stay.
location. Cod was succulent
huge amount of condensation left pools of water on window. had the aurora been present I doubt we would have seen it though the condensation. Bed was very soft. Overall felt it was poor value and very dated compared to some of the other places we stayed at on the south coast.
Good location, lovely scenery
V. Expensive and limited dinner menu. Food was very nice but overpriced.
The jacuzzi, the sauna, the restaurant and the room are great. Good location for touring the southern region.
The sauna and jacuzzi could have been open a bit longer (closed after 11pm)
