Offering a picturesque location 2 km from Snæfellsjökull National Park, Guesthouse Snjofell offers guest rooms with shared bathroom facilities. The shoreline and bird life in Arnarstapi is less than 3 km away. All guest rooms at Snjofell Guesthouse have a seating area and a kitchenette with a microwave and tea/coffee facilities. Guests can enjoy activities like cave exploration and walks to volcanic craters and lava formations. Glacier tours on snowmobiles are offered in the winter. Arnarbaer Restaurant offers fresh sea food and various meat and grill dishes in a building inspired by old turf farmsteads. Rif Airport is a 30-minute drive from the hotel. Hotel Rooms: 20

The guesthouse is absolutely brilliant - like the heaven of guesthouses. Warm, cozy, incredibly comfortable....the owners are very kind. Definitely worth staying even if you're just passing by!

It was one of the only places available to stay at the end of the remote penninsula. We used booking.com to ensure that when we arrived, late in the evening after a drive from Keflavik, we would be sure to have a room!!! It worked perfectly, we were expected and our room was ready. The location is fabulous and the road to get there is truly through the "center of the earth". Completely scenic, charming and with lots of glacial, hiking, sights to see. Recommended! I am used to shared lavatory facilities - but private baths are also wonderful to have and not yet available out in this remote area! It is perfectly fine the way it is

First, the location was amazing. We followed a path that just happened to be right by the hotel, and it took us along a beautiful cliff walk on the shore. Think unique rock formations and black sand. Also the restaurant was very good, with all-you-can-eat brunch buffets and delicious fish dinners. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were only two bathrooms in our building, serving many rooms, and this made for a long wait for the shower in the morning if you're unlucky. Our room was pretty close to the bathroom, and the door banged, which also made it hard to sleep in while the other guests got ready.

Lovely location Rooms rather basic Appeared to be only one bathroom for the whole place. We were in front guesthouse(4 rooms with one bathroom) but I was aware of guests coming from another building to use our bathroom. The only toilet was in this bathroom too.

The location of the hotel between the sea (200 metres) and Snaefellsjökull (2 km) is great. The front of this (red) hotel looks so nice, but the rooms are in another (white) building. We were in room 4 in the white building, and it was the worst place in our life. It is right beside the toilet, and you hear exactly what everyone is doing there (I'm trying not to be too explicit!). Moreover there is only one toilet/shower for about 14 people. Imagine 3 people having to go there at the same time, while another person is taking a shower. All walls are as thin as wallpaper: you hear every cough, every laugh, and you do not only hear a couple making love. You hear exactly how the boy swears eternal love to the girl (before doing it).

Conveniently located right off route 54. The guesthouse has a restaurant and is also a tour operator with trips to the glacier(see below as this is also a complaint). The guesthouse has lots of outdoor seating for nice days. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. All rooms are shared bath. We did not have a sink in our room. Thus far that had been the norm in Iceland. Overall this guesthouse is similar to most all Icelandic accommodation. Because the guesthouse is also a tour operator and restaurant as well, there was very poor customer service. One front desk guy was running all 3 operations. When we checked in, he gave us our key and started tending to someone else about a tour, so we thought we were done and would pay in the morning, like at other places we stayed. We left to get our bags and five minutes later, he runs out to us saying he forgot to charge us. Overall though a decent place.

The environment was beautiful and peaceful at this time of the year. And the weather was also good. Nice place and good memories so close to the site where Jule Verne started his novel 'Journey to the center of the earth'. The breakfast was 10 Euro at site, but on web site it was 13 Euro. That is not really good! One expect that pre-booking is cheaper!
