We only stayed a night, arriving in a blizzard. It was absolutely stunning, the hot tub and sauna in the snow were simply breath-taking. We didn't even get a chance to check out Hvammstangi, unfortunately, but next time I will definitely stay here again!

We loved everything: the cottage, the view, the nice short talk with the owner, the aurora on our second evening!
The main restaurant at the village near the cottage is pricy but very good: save for it if needed, it is worth it (and needed as there is no kitchen in the cottage 😉).
The water could be ice cold at first, be patient, it will soon be (very) warm. Talk to the owner before your stay, it will explain the reason better than me!
One last point: the owner talked about a path to go to the shore of the fjord, but we didn't found it. Make sure he explain it to you clearly.

We stayed here for one night.
We stayed here for one night. We where a little concerned considering the remote area of the country. The owner greeted us very kindly and made us feel like at home. Once you step in you can feel the love she has put in to this place. I was really happy on how clean the house is. The bed limens where so clean and ironed. ♥️ the backyard was adorable. She had waffles for us and a home made jelly made. ♥️

Just a short walk out of town but far enough to be quiet and private. Guesthouse was a wonderful surprise. Modern, clean and a very well equipped kitchen for guests. Host even threw a pot of coffee on in the morning. Full fjord view from our bedroom. Turned out to be one of our best overnights in Iceland.
A wonderful and beautiful place located in the northwest of Iceland. Olga is a very nice and hospitable person. The house itself is truly Scandinavian, originally decorated and beautiful. It is very clean and nice, lots of toys for children. The kitchen has all the necessary things, including a coffee machine and a dishwasher. In the dining room there is a large table and 2 small ones, there are also several common rooms where you can spend time outside the room. Lovely and peaceful neighborhood! Thank you for everything! Best regards.
Amazing views! Family farm! Lots of good history. Fresh milk upon arrival. As soon as we stepped through the door it felt like home immediately. Cozy, clean, comfortable, warm, well done with charm and grace. Wonderful kitchen and bathroom. Real yard. Great experience all around. Great wifi. Plenty of space and comfortable beds. What more could you want? We hope to return in a winter in the near future. Truly perfect for traveling family. Private and refreshing. Great way to experience real Iceland!
We were blown away by the beauty of the location of the guesthouse and the room itself went beyond our expectations. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. I am pretty sure we spotted a whale cruising through the fjord too! (spotted it with binoculars)The owner had already placed a full breakfast in our room's fridge so we were able to have a leisurely wake up, eating breakfast while looking out at the fjord. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The keys were exactly where the host said they would be, so access to the cottage was a breeze. The location is easy to find, quiet, and private. We loved that there were utensils available and a coffee machine with reusable ceramic cups. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was extremely spacious with towels included. Thank you also for having wash cloths, which is not always the standard in Iceland.
The room was well-designed and comfortable. The decor was old-style and provided us with a perfect Icelandic homestay. One of the unique aspects is the personalized atmosphere it provides. Since it's a homestay, it was very calm, and felt like we were at our own home. The next time I visit Iceland, I will definitely stay at this place again.
Very clean and relatively new one bedroom flat a few minutes walk from the town center (e.g. Seal Center). Pull out couch is classic Ikea, typical of so many short stay hotels. Shower and kitchen were nice. Speedy Wifi. Close to the town pool, which we enjoyed. This is our choice overnight pit-stop when we drive from Reykjavik to Akuyeri.
Loved the size of the home. We rented two homes for our family of 5 and it was by far the best value for our trip for a fraction of the price of the cramped hotels we stayed at during our 9 day road trip. If there was more to do in the area we would have used it as a home base. If we return we would def. stay here again.
A beautiful spot just off the ring road. The guesthouse is very homely with some quirky decor. Room was nice and clean, bathroom was well stocked and had a powerful shower. Bed was comfy, there was no tea making facilities in the room, but no problem because we had a delicious breakfast with freshly cooked cinnamon rolls!
Every thing was fine ,quirky hotel , host was great would have marked this up a lot more but our room was smelly from foul plumbing in the bathroom , Im not sure if this an issue with the other rooms but our room 11 whilst great clean and comfortable just marred by that.Breakfast was good and restaurant meal also
The guesthouse is managed by a team of young and nice guys. The guesthouse was an old school so it has wide spaces, nice break area with a pool.
Ideal place for people who like to stay in the middle of nowhere.
Shared toilets and showers are clean.
Tiny cabin with bunk beds for kids and sofa bed for two adults. Beautiful views of Hvammstangi cabins are just outside the village cosy one night stop for a family of four. Very clean. Basic kitchenette which was great as we were self catering.
Great breakfast as you would experience in a luxury hotel, but in a comfy home setting, exceeding our expectations.
The hostess was super-nice.
So many small details to make a memorable experience for our stay. Highly recommend staying here.
This place is one of the best place we stayed in Iceland. The property is very clean with beautiful view. It has everything you will need for a stay. The nearby restaurant is also awesome, also of the best restaurant we dine in Iceland too.
the house is very new and has a great kitchen and living area with very friendly people running it, it's great for small groups traveling through iceland.
They had some stored food you could use for breakfast which was great.
Very cozy, home like set up
Very comfortable sleep, the best night of sleep I had in Iceland
Great location close to Hvitzerkur
And most of all very hospitable and accommodating host Oskar
very cozy place and you can enjoy the authentic Island farm life. The owner has 2 arctic foxes, running outside the house. Just one whistle they will come to you. so cute!
Felt like we were staying at home not at a hotel. The room was small but had everything we needed. Breakfast simple but very delicious. Coffee/tea available at all times.
The best guesthouse we’ve ever stayed. The hosts are lovely and very welcoming. they even prepared waffle and homemade jam for us, which taste sooo good
