very functional and comfortable rooms, very riendly hosts. Quiet. Off the ring road in nature.
If you are looking for the Northern Lights on your trip to Iceland this is a great place to stay. We stayed there 4 nights and saw the lights 3 out of 4! All we had to do was look out of the window to check if they were there, rather than drive miles away from light polution! The hosts were warm welcoming and very helpful. We would stay there again if we went back to the area.
They don't do breakfast service in the winter months which we weren't aware of till we arrived there. Provided you go prepared then it's no problem as guests can use the kitchen facilities there.
Hot tub, after a long day, with the northern lights above us...fabulous. (robes were provided). What a great way to end our Icelandic Adventure.
We reached very late and drove past the guesthouse at 10pm, luckily the staff was alert and drove up to greet us. We were glad that we were able to check in even though late! Facilities were clean and breakfast was good.
Road in to guesthouse is not lit and very dark for visitors at night. No clear signboard
Fantastic facilities, so clean and efficient... We stayed for one night and found it very comfortable, clean, warm and had great wifi. We found it very easy and we even managed to see the northern lights outside the room, I would highly recommend this as a place to stay! You would not be disappointed.
Good location if you want to skip Reykjavik on your way to the North or Snaefelsness. Scenic location. If you are just expecting a basic, clean and warm place to stay a night I don't think you'll be disappointed.
You need to drive 15 mins to find a restaurant.
Great hostess. Way out in the farm land
Way out in the farm land
very nice stuff, good breakfast, price was ok,
not very beautiful
The en-suite rooms were nicely decorated and very comfortable with a lot of attention to detail, and fluffy bathrobes, slippers, and hairdryers were provided. The cozy communal sitting room and dining area made it feel like a home away from home. We didn't use the hot tub as we had just been swimming in Bogarnes nearby, but we had horse-riding lessons at the stables and went horse-riding in the countryside, and that was great fun.
Some of the surrounding area and exterior of the guesthouse appeared a little "stark" at first - but first appearances were deceiving, and the comfortable interior more than makes up for this. If not driving a 4X4, be prepared for a longish bumpy ride from the main road to the guesthouse.
Clean and fresh situated in a beautiful landscape. The horses were very well cared for and friendly. Breakfast was good and the owners/ staff of this familyhotel were fantastic. Thank u for making our stay so pleasant.
- living Room - barbeque - horses
- smelly room (smoke) - no open kitchen facilities
The rooms are comfortable and homey. The staff is friendly and responsive and being able to walk up the hill to a comprehensive horse training facility with lessons included in trail rides, was unique and valuable. The smile on my little girl's face was priceless.
The staff was very helpful and directed us to an excellent cafe. Our gps couldn't locate it, but just look for the sign on highway 1. The Icelandic horses were a treat.
It is a bit pricy for a prefab unit. But, nonetheless a good nights stay.
Unusual rural situation. Good beds, nice bathroom. Good breakfast
No mirror outside the bathroom. No light over the bathroom mirror. Very weak wi-fi signal in our room which was farther away from the hall. Sound proofing not good when other guests made noise late in the evening.
we stayed here for our first night in Iceland, and it seems to be at home! the owner was very nice and kind! it was all perfect and refined. we will surely go back there when we return in Iceland! :)
Perfect location in countryside! Nice stuff!
lovely location on a horse farm (a big thank you for a chance to meet horses!), yet close to the town of borgarnes. friendly and welcoming service from the hosts. warm atmosphere in room. the hot tub outside was relaxing and luxurious. we recommend warmly!
The room was small but nice, i got to try the whirlpool. Nice experience being outside with the snow nearby but getting relaxed with the warm water.
Good WI-Fi connection.
It was New Years' time, so the staff wasn't there, only stopped by to collect their money. The drains were frozen, so showering caused a flood.. Could've fixed it, if complained (they told later via email) but we didn't want to do that at after 23 PM...when we'd just wanted to go to sleep after a long day. Should've been ok and checked in the first place..
