Very large room, with a great kitchen. The water smelled very strongly of sulfur.
It is located in an industrial/commercial part of town that was really dirty. Did not think it would be a good idea to go out late at night, walking the streets.
Location. Helpful and friendly staff. Fairly basic decor but clean. Located on a main road but still very quiet, I guess very much like the rest of Reykjavik.
A bit dark, could do with some more lights, including the burnt bulbs. First day went without cleaning but after notifying the receptionist it got sorted.
It was quiet
There was what appeared to be some excrement in/on the toilet bowl on my arrival. The apartment was tiny, much smaller than the pictures and description suggested and further out of town than the description suggested. It was not really an apartment in any sense of the word but a hotel room with a sink and a fridge and hob. For this reason it was overpriced. I was annoyed.
The room was warm and clean, bed was very comfortable the kitchen well equipped and the shower has thermal water. There is a food store 2-3 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is not in the city centre therefore the area is quiet. About 10min. walk there's a park with a zoo and botanic garden.
-the beds -accessibility of staff on site, easy to access keys to property -reasonably spacious -close to supermarkets
-gratuitously depressing décor -next to no cooking equipment, no opening can, no colander, very small pots. in comparison stayed in much cheaper self catering accommodation elsewhere which was not pretentious but had salt, oil, sugar and the bare necessities for a short stay -window overlooking large relatively noisy road -found previous visitors' hair everywhere, very dusty and generally dirty, drain in bathroom blocked -very run down and looking completely differently from the photos on the site!!!
Nice staff, nice room. Close big grocery store
That there was a kitchen included, stores nearby, helpful staff, central location. Good prices, close to bus stops, lots of room: not cramped.
The kitchen counter had sharp edges: both of us cut ourselves terribly. The bed was a bit uncomfortable. Not a beautiful location, but amazingly quiet since rooms aren't directly on the street.
Bonus and Vinbudin close to hostel, big parking, friendly staff.
Kitchen was equipped badly and with cheap portable electrical cooker, it's good to warm something, not to cook and first one was faulty (one heater didn't work), but it was replaced after our request. There was no light in the bathroom and nobody repaired it, instead of normal light they placed reading-lamp for whole bathroom. We lived in 208 apartment, maybe other rooms are ok, but beware of this room or check all the options before.
It's cozy You have basic things you would need in a kitchen Clean Silent (my apt was 322) Warm. I didnt need the heat (it was middle of August) Strong and hot shower Reception very accessible outside of their work time.
Lack of shelves to put things, especially in the bathroom. Apt too small. For me alone it was ok, but there were two beds in my apt and I can't imagine two people sharing 10mts sq. Distant from center. 40-60min walking. It makes you depend on public transportation if you want to enjoy the night in downtown. Internet wi fi in my apt was terrible. Sometimes didn't even work.
Great location. Bus stop right across the street. Helpful staff. Good value for the money. 24 hour grocery store, Hagkaup, within walking distance.
Great staff Easy access to buses
This is a great apartment located outside the downtown area, but just off the main street for public transportation. The kitchen area was pretty well stocked. The 24 hour supermarket is walking distance, just around the corner. Great value for the money.
The view from the window
Staff were great and very helpful. Bus connections to town easy. No problem parking. Fridge and cooker. Value for money in the main city.
No lift. Fire alarm went off in middle of night - false alarm which I believe has happened before.
price-not cheap but affordable in a very expensive city
very small rooms with little space for personal items. Rooms felt cramped
Good value for money in Iceland, very helpfull staff, excellent internet, facilities were ok. Location may be a bit far out if you don't have a car which we did and it is very easy to get to and from city cebtre from here. Don't know about bus service. Restuarants supermarkets etc close by.
Good for one night, at your arrival in the city or before departure
Spacious, bathroom, kitchen, wi fi, close to downtown, free parking
Not the cleanest.
Close to the city center, clean, fully equipped
+WiFi was working properly. +Nice to have a sink in the room in addition to the bathroom +Refrigerator & Microwave +Free car parking
-No elevator -While taking a shower, water smells really bad (sulphur) and the ventilation in the bathroom is not sufficient -Because of not having efficient ventilation in the bathroom, damp covers everywhere -Location is not close to city center, can't imagine how to go to city center if we haven't got a car -Senseless check-in/check-out times: Check-in is allowed at 4 PM although you have to leave at 11 AM.
Cheap for Reykjavik, budget apartments are small but good for money, a wee way from town but served well by bus service that goes from before 7am until near midnight, bus only takes correct money ISK 350 I would recommend buying a block of 9 from Hellmur bus station
Bit small and out of way but near the swimming pool and national stadium
A convenient location, good value for money.
Our flight was cancelled and our arrival to Iceland was delayed a day. We e-mailed Studio Apartments to let them know the situation. They ignored our e-mail. Once we arrived in town, we drove straight there to try and talk with them in person. They wouldn't work with us. They billed us for the night our flight was cancelled, refused to accommodate us a different night, then said if we would not have had a discounted rate on our room they could have offered us something. We stayed at several other hotels and guesthouses in the area and their staff was fantastic. This place is rude and has terrible customer service--I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
no nonsense staff, bar and restaurants nearby.
have to make your own beds.
