After reading all bad reviews I expected a terrible stay at this hotel but everything was fine manager pleasant breakfast ok no problem at all very near bus station which is so handy
Entering hotel from the back and no one there straight away
Great room, didn't look great from the outside but really fit for purpose, I would book it again
It was not much we liked about the place.
Truely uncomfortable beds, unclean room (hair of previous guests left on bed!), constatly understaffed (noone at reception), not enough toilet paper (!), worn out towels - avoid staying at all cost esp. if you are with family and kids. Otherwise you will regret it.
quiet, clean. Owner was very prompt when called at 0100 to open front door. Quiet in the morning, helping us to sleep off jet lag. Breakfast was minimal, but adequate and he kept the coffee flowing.
Threadbare sheets, hotel was hard to find, we were charged $15.00 more than the booking.com quote.
Location was good.
Room is super basic - no frills. Had to wait outside in the cold without shelter for staff to arrive to hotel to check us in.
- good price - location (short walk to city centre)
Near BSI terminal
Fair in every aespects
The location - close to bus terminal.
Rude staff. Worst bed I've ever slept in. Outside of property is quite a mess.
Good location, near the big church. Nice staff. Breakfast is relatively good as it is included in the room rental. Very convenience to have tea and coffee anytime from the breakfast room.
Poor wifi. Very very slow. My friends stayed in second floor, hardly connect. Not enough sockets in room for recharge our electronic devices (Just one extended cable in the triple room which laid under one of the beds). Small breakfast room, can't find a seat in peak hours.
Location near the bus terminal, wireless.
As stated in the information about the Inn, no one was at the reception when I arrived and I had to wait for around 30 minutes.
Nobody was there to get us in!! A guest after 20 min knocking under the rain, came to open the door! The morning we get insult by the staff who was rude and impolite
Quite cheap, right next to the bus station and easy walking distance from the centre
Room was a bit warm ( as were all rooms we stayed in in Iceland). Had to do the usual and just use the cover off the duvet.
The guest house was clean, with good wifi and heating. Breakfast was just OK not too bad. Was given a kettle so could make my bed tea.
As soon I entered that too from the back side I got disappointed. The entry door itself was not welcoming. As I entered it was a bit of messy everywhere. I booked a twin bedroom with private bathroom and to my surprise the bathroom was not attached and was outside in the corridor. I was given a room on minus one level.Every time I had to use the keys to open and close the bathroom even from inside. The room was of normal size with clean sheets, a table, a chair, side table, an almirah, wash basin etc. A small TV was like a showpiece not in working condition. On asking for the remote of TV, got a vague reply from the manager. The worst part is the quality of furniture which was very poor. The bed was very noisy and unstable. Could sleep for some time as I was too tired to feel that noise. As far as location is concerned the plus point is that it is near to BSI terminal. But one should stay closer to the city centre and work place. Every time I had to travel a triangle to reach to my conference venue, food. I am definitely not going to stay there again and recommend to any of my friends. Overall experience was disappointing.
The room was pretty spacious, it's close to the downtown, the breakfast is nice and the host welcoming.
Small shower - but compared to our experience with other Iceland guesthouses, at least this one is in your room and not shared :-)
Since it isn't staffed, you needed to call a number to have someone come and let you in. We didn't have a phone that worked in Iceland, so we asked someone to call for us....1 hour and 3 phone calls later by some very kind people, someone finally answered and came. He was angry with us that we had followed someone in so we could wait in the lobby rather than wait outside. And he chewed us out for not having international phones. He was VERY rude. We had expected the room to be basic, but it was below that.....very shabby and run down. We had booked the room for 4 nights, but decided we came to Iceland to have a great time so after one night, we stayed elsewhere.
Location which is within easy walking distance of both Reykjavik City Airport and the Bus Terminal. Ability to leave in the morning to take the Flybus to the airport.
Aggressive greeting from receptionist/proprietor who reprimanded me for entering the building the wrong way despite there being a complete lack of directions to the entrance at the rear of the property! Overheard same person making quite offensive comments to other guests and trying to pass it off as humour. Room was very small & overcrowded with furniture. Bedding & linen were old and torn and not ironed which did not provide confidence in its cleanliness. Communal bathroom was reasonably clean, but very dated (tiles missing) and old shower curtains.
We spend the first night here before heading out from Reykjavik. It was enough for us, a bed to sleep, hot shower and good location by the bus terminal. So do not expect any luxus but a decent budget accommodation.
Easy to get to.
Impossible staff. People are really in the wrong industy. Avoid any conversations. Don't want anything.
Well-placed at the bus station
The two bosses are unpleasent men. The place is full of signs that say what all is forbidden. Everything is a problem. Don't talk to them more than you have to. It will only make you angry.
Located in a pretty garden.
Facility was not staffed 24 - 7 and we were two older ladies on the 4th floor with luggage and no elevator. No one to help us down the stairs at 9am. Had to rely on our own defenses. Was very disappointed. Called the number and was told he was a 1/2 hour away and he would have to charge us to come back and help us with luggage.
close to the centre, easy parking, nice breakfast.
hostel-like accommodation, but no communal kitchen.
The location is perfect if you need to get a bus to the airport and only a 10 min walk into the centre of Reykjavik. Friendly staff.
The facilities are adequate but basic, the tele had two channels, one of them a Christian channel. Fortunately the other was showing the world cup !!!
We were in Iceland for a stopover, so the location right next to the bsi bus terminal was convenient. ( although a better option would have been to stay at the Smari near the airport.
The beds were very uncomfortable and the mattress was stained and quite gross. Not a deal breaker, but at 130 euros, a clean bed would have been nice.
The complete absence of cooperation on the possibility of cancellation reservation for more than one month before the stay.
