New hotel. Staff is helpful and nice. Staff consists of international team so most likely you may get communication in your own language. Chef comes to cook every evening - nice fish main course.
Hotel staff needs management: there was only staff by themselves and nobody to overlook them. They felt quite relaxed. Wifi connection is available in hotel hall. Definitely not reaching to room 8.
The breakfast should be included in the price.
staff were young and eager to assist.
difficult to find and very remote location
Very warm staff, very good view, very good dinner, very big room.
the lodge is very well maintained in property and is stylish. Breakfast is good and the stuff is nice and kind.
Just one thing: we are 4 persons and the sofa for two of us was not that wide enough...
Fantastic food, and an overall luxurious experience. Nice sauna, great views. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Rather far from anything. Wifi was good when it worked, but wasn't reliable.
My only criticism of my stay is that I didn't book two nights to take full advantage of the gorgeous surroundings. The rooms are simply yet stylishly furnished and you wouldn't want anything more ornate to distract from the stunning view.
The breakfast was a little poor, with low supplies.
We staied in the modern part od the hotel that is not completely ready. The finishing works were in progress (bags with the cements, wires from the walls) but it was not noisy because we staied in week-end time. We were suprised by the absent of the door to the bathroom and toilet. There is a wall that separate the room from that area but it isn't comfortable at all when you stay with the small kid who doesn't have the same sex like you.
Clean. A little expensive u considering its remote location. They did have a sauna.
Remote. Even though it is in a farm like everything on this peninsula, the rooms are an add-on pre-fab structure. It is not a quaint farmhouse environment. But the rooms were spotless and the shower was a real enclosed shower
Stuff were very friendly to wait for us with late dinner, cause we were lost on the road to find hotel and it was quite late.
If you want to escape from civilization that hotel definitely is for u! But consider: 1. 45 min ride down a bumpy gravel road; 2. Breakfast was very poor. Only 2 eggs to share between 4 people, some pieces of salami and cheese. Not hot food. No sweet food apart from waffles ( that you should have made yourself) , jam, cereals. The most poor breakfast we've ever had before.. To sum up, that hotel is overpriced and not worth the price.
Very remote location, thus very silent at night. The restaurant's menu selection is limited, but the chef does a really great job. Nice breakfast, too.
Comfortable accommodation. Good food.
It was slightly out of season (May) and there wasn't much of an atmosphere.
Great food, lovely view, terrific room, beautiful staff.
Tough drive but worth it !
Location very peaceful, confortable rooms
Long way on track Roads to go there ... No choice in the restaurant menu but as there is no others place from 40 kms at least we had donner there .... Was correct but awfully expensive for what we ate ....
The cooking is superb.
Water in hot tub not clean.
Beautiful but off-the-beaten-track location. Great for birders, hikers and all nature lovers. Very pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Impeccably clean!
The food was excellent provided by a young chef, but if budget is a factor, one should check prices on dinner before agreeing to the special.
The quiet solitude and helpfulness of the owner for information of what to see at the season we were in. Also road conditions of where we were wanting to go. The food was excellent and the chef was friendly and attentive to our needs. We were given a special tour by our chef to see the eider down factory and the 1600 yr old church on his property with lots of good historical stories to go along. He also directed us to a knitter in the area to purchase her handwork goods - as he did not have my size. Sauna was lovely.
Breakfast was an ordinary buffet and not included in the room price. Hot tub was not hot.
Even so there is no close-by restaurant, this is not of any disadvantage. The food at the hotel is excellent! Its a modern innovative style of local food, very well cooked. The Northern lights we saw, where incredible clear.
The owner was incredibly helpful in advising on all sorts of issues as well as arranging excursions for us. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent.
Staff friendly and helpful, location a bit remote but excellent for the northern lights!
Have young children, so a tv in the room or DVD player would have been nice, other than that no complaints, well run excellent accomodation!
The lodge is located in the wilderness, great landscape, very clean, very nice facilities, very helpful staff. There are no shops or other facillities nearby, but the lodge offers a meal (it was not cheap, but very tasty). I think it is a really great location in summer!
However, we were there in winter. In my opinion, the lodge should be better closed in the winter season. First, it is hard to reach. Second, the rooms have all own entrances. For the 7 meters from our room to the breakfast room we had to be dressed as for a polar expedition and got nearly blown away on this short part! It also was hardly possible to open the door because of the strong wind. Although the hot pool was only a few meters away: no chance to use it. Maybe everything would have been nice without the wind.... We plan to come back in summer.
We absolutely loved our stay at Vogur from the minute Gudmundur met us on the steps to his property to the packed lunch he made us the day we left giving us one of his flasks too. Gudmundur was a very welcoming host and we enjoyed his humour which made our stay even better. He arranged a trip for us to see Killer Whales which we did and was the highlight of our holiday and a once in a lifetime experience. The lodge itself is beautiful inside and the rooms simple but comfortable. We had a stunning view of the fjord from our window. We enjoyed the hot tub but there is a sauna too although we didn't try it. It has been said the breakfast is expensive but no different to what you would pay in any hotel we thought and found the choice suited both of us perfectly and we loved the waffle maker. Yes the services are 45 minutes away but definitely you want to eat at Vogur. We had our evening meals there which were gorgeous and the best we had during our trip. The chef introduced the menu each night and was also a lovely guy. The food itself was beautiful and inline with prices elsewhere. It has been said Vogur is remote but that is the beauty and taking a trip around the peninsula is well worth it, the landscape is stunning. A good location to tour Snaefellsnes or as a stop before heading further North. We couldn't recommend Vogur more highly and would love to return when the days are longer. Thank you so much Gudmundur.
Very friendly and helpful staff!! The meal cooked by the staff was fresh and really delicious. Best cod soup and lamb!!!! The rooms were very clean as was the rest of the place. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Vogur Country Lodge and we would stay here again!
Friendly staff and excellent food!
Trash had not been removed from the room prior to our stay.
There was nothing not to like. Wonderful people, excellent accommodation, and the food was simply stunning. Can I give Vogur 11/10?
