Kitchen facilities, location, comfort
When using the shower the entire bedroom's floor gets wet and there is not mop to clean it
The location of the hotel is excellent, you couldn't get much closer to the centre of Reykjavik. Well priced for the location, the beds were comfy. They have a computer in the main lobby which you can use and it's attached to a printer so you're able to print stuff out if needed. The kitchen is pretty well stocked, it contained all the essentials (except an oven).
The hotel is self-service check in, as there are no staff whatsoever around. This was generally alright, though confusing at first. One couple accidentally locked themselves out of their room however which was a massive issue with no one in the building to let them in. The only staff we saw were cleaning staff, one of which arrived at our room 15-20 minutes before checkout and basically told us we needed to be out which I was annoyed about. Our room was pretty dark, not much lighting and sockets to plug things in are pretty well non-existent. We ended up moving our beds and beside table to get to a socket so we could use a laptop to watch things.
It's location was perfect. The apartment comfortable and and clean. And although there's no reception staff it was a simple process to settle in, and the towels and consumables were replaced daily by elves.
My gripes are minor the main one being the door code to enter the building was the wrong one but having entered with someone else easily rectified. And the kitchen was poorly stocked with pans etc although we did manage to make do.
This place is brilliant. Thee location is the tiniest walk into to town which meant my mother could easily get to all of the shops and restaurants. Easy auto check-in and great place.
Only problem was a few too many steps for my mother but that was my fault for not asking for a lower floored room.
We booked a studio flat and I was pleasantly suprised. It was spacious, well equiped with coffee machine, toaster, microwave, 2 ring hob and fridge freezer, comfortable and in a great location just one rd of the main street and a 5 min walk from the central bus station. It was quiet and relaxing and a great place to stay. we did it at the begining and end of our trip so actually stayed in 2 different studios and although they varied slightly the high standard was reflected in both of them. I would definitely recommend.
Not much. In the first studio the light was a bit poor in the bathroom but not really an issue.
Bathroom could do with a make over.
Brilliant location close to supermarket, coffee bars and shops. Short walk to bars in the centre of town and main attractions. Quiet surroundings and a good nights sleep.
Having no staff on reception was difficult - several of our tours were cancelled and it would be useful to have a local to speak to about sorting this. The kitchen was really tiny - fine for boiling pasta, but to prepare food was a bit difficult. The apartment could have been a little cleaner - their were hairs in the kitchen and bathroom from the previous occupants.
Free parking nearby, walking distance to main shopping street, easy to find, clean, easy to 'check in'
It would be good if there was an oven
how central it was. very large. staff discreet but helpful. perfect
Despite the staff-less system employed in the apartments check-in and the use of facilities were all extremely easy. Our studio apartment was a home away from home- warm, extremely comfortable and fully equipped for us to cook our own meals. It was hard to find fault due to its central location, good value for money, simplicity, cleanliness and homely feel.
The wifi was very unreliable at times which was frustrating as we needed to book some day tours etc we hadn't already arranged online. However, the computer downstairs was a good back-up option.
My studio room (404) had everything I could want - a fridge, things such as a kettle, microwave, coffee maker, cutlery, pots, blinds, a sofa, hairdryer, towels etc. The room was spacious, pretty and clean. I stored my luggage after checking out at no cost, and also used the free computer. It was quiet, well organised, clean, centrally located and I would happily stay there again!
Location was great. Very clean. Comfortable bed.
Never interacted with any real person who was not a repair person. Wifi was on and off. Kitchen was clean but would be challenging to really cook in.
Good location and good facility.
Great location Free local calls from phone in the "lobby"
Stand-offish staff - well the person you can reach via email was. She's the only one you can contact as there's no reception so there's no staff on the premises at all. They refused to change our towels despite our explicit request saying that they change it every 2nd day so we have to wait. We stayed on the top floor and the wi-fi didn't work in our room. The bed was two singles put together instead of a double bed. Horrible for a romantic getaway! Electricity not too stable as once it went off completely just because we used "too many" things at once.
Guy on reception. Unhelpful. Lazy.
Parking was scarce. Only 3 spaces in the parking lot.
The location of Welcome Apartsments is as good as it can be - only a few steps from the main streets as well as the sea. The hotel is based on self service and everything worked out satisfactory. We liked the size of our one room studio on the 4th floor and kitchen was well equipped. Also the wireless internet was super.
The beds were a bit too soft and the bath room very small
Centralt, bra med kökssaker, prisvärt
Lite hårda sängar,
All of the above checked above Have been back several times already!
No complaints at all
Our large studio apartment was bright and airy, and well equipped. Having advised the staff of our early morning arrival, we could have the apartment at 0 a.m. to rest up a bit. Stores and restaurants were nearby.
The building lacks an elevator, but we needed to lug the luggage only one flight of stairs up.
Internet did not work. In 206
Everything in the apartment was in good shape, excellent quality/price ratio and enough close to the center of Reykjavik, unless walking for more than few minutes causes you problems.
Only thing that was bad was the shower & water. Water stunk like rotten eggs, because of the sulfur content in it, but that's probably a nationwide problem in Iceland, so this isn't really that much of a complaint.
Our room was spacious and comfortable. Location was in nice.
Bathroom exhaust appeared to be channeled to the adjacent bedroom.
Location was good, well equipped for a longer stay.
Room was on the lowest level, so below ground but with windows and view to outside. Bathroom was clean but is in need of refreshment, particularly the shower. No proper free car park. There is on street parking but it seemed very busy and hard to find a spot. Fire alarm went off during last night due to someone cooking. Not the fault of the owners but could happen again easily. Had to request confirmation email and door code etc in advance of trip when this should have been sent automatically.
The apartment had all the basics for our stay. Cooking utensils were adequate. Furnishings were basic but adequate. Great location. Good value for the money. Would stay again. Room was clean and quiet.
Very basic room but had everything we needed. No laundry on site. Staff only during the day and not available after hours. A little expensive for basic accomodations.
