The owner is a really nice cheerful and welcoming person! The location is lovely, just beneath Eyafjallojukull, close to Skogar, and ideal for those who want to adventure into the Skogar Thorsmork trekking path. Breakfast was served upstairs in a phantastic big room overlooking the mountains, available for guests also in the evenings with a billiard table and other games! Cool! The room was very clean and cosy. We absolutely recommend this guesthouse!

The site was amazingly peaceful and our on site host was most gracious. Best bed I have ever slept on...ever. Warm, comforatable,friendly.

Funky little farmhouse cottage, but comfortable and in a great location. Good (typical) breakfast.

After a long day the nearest restaurant 10 K. Unfortunately this was closed and we had to travel 50k in opposite direction.

Games room upstairs was really nice after our baby had gone to bed. The manager even let us put his cot in an adjacent room free of charge so we had a bit of peace! As well as storing some of his food in their fridge. Room was very comfortable, we were lucky to get one of the biggest rooms, and view was fab. We didn't make it to the pool, but it sounded great. Very, very close to skogafoss waterfall.

The building is a bit of a surprise when you first arrive, very small and looked like it was covered in corrugated metal which made it a bit noisy in the wind.

The location of this place is something you can never forget. Its located at the Lambafel farm right off the ring route and the back drop of the place is provided by a view of a massive glacier through which you can hike to the Eyafjallajokull volcano (I was told it would take about 5 hours) Its an intensely quiet and serene location. Its very close to the Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls and is located b/w these two awesome falls. We checked in early evening on Aug 26th 2012. While the room sported two beds, The rooms are extremely small, so small that you can barely fit a suitcase in the available space and have room to walk. People traveling from places that sport much larger hotel rooms should certainly have tempered expectations as regards room size when checking into this place - its seriously that small. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in location. And of course, no one comes here to live - you come here to spend a night or two and move on. And for that, it adequately serves the purpose. Room rates seem very high for the size of the room. There are about 10 rooms in the whole building and you can easily hear activity (especially footsteps) on the wooden floor, which might put some people off while asleep. There are not very many eating options but there are a couple of restaurants a few miles away. Its good to be stocked with food if arriving at an odd hour as most places close by 6pm in these remote areas. A modest breakfast is provided upstairs which includes sandwiches, cereal, milk, fruit juice and coffee. There's a laptop at the front entrance that provides for Internet connectivity. But the views outside are breathtaking. You are supposed to drop the keys off into a lock box while checking out - I forgot to do so and carried them off with me. The host of the place was very nice in obliging me on my promising to return the keys two days later when we were to be heading back the same way.

The rooms are indeed very small.

People were nice. Service is good everywhere in Iceland.

The rooms were extremely cramped. It was incredibly hot in the room. It was very poor value for the money we paid. We had much nicer rooms and service in other hotels/ B&Bs in Iceland for even cheaper prices.

We enjoyed the large common room. Our room was small. We enjoyed the local geothermal pool and it was under the Volcano that erupted in 2010 (so made it interesting).

Loved the location. Seriously....it's other-worldly, amazing, spell- binding! The staff was super kind! We were late in our check-in time, due to a long day of travel that was unanticipated. We called them that evening, and they were so understanding. They had a staff member there and waiting for us. Honestly, even after you read our tips on the things that could have been better...we would without a doubt visit this lovely hotel again, mostly because of the staff and the location!!!!!!!

Well, first of all...we traveled there in early September. It was already starting to get cold, and the south coast of Iceland is known for their intense wind! Our heater did not work in our room (we didn't realize this until the morning we were checking out), the structure itself seems very poor. The floors aren't done well, the windows look ill-fitted to the rooms, you can hear everything throughout the building, the wind whips against the building, and we could actually feel the building shudder and shake with the wind's gusts! For a romantic getaway...pay more money perhaps and rent their little cabins behind the main hotel building...perhaps those structures are built more soundly!? It would be hard to be super romantic in one of these rooms, because you feel as if you don't have a lot of privacy. However, if you're backpackers and would love to stay at the base of an enormous mountain with a glacier resting between....and a semi-warm room with a bed is a definite upgrade from a sleeping bag outside, than this place would be a dream!!! The mattresses were obviously very inexpensive...and our backs were hurting by the end of our stay....and on the night when we were quite chilly, we only had the one feather blanket (twin-sized) for each of us, and it just wasn't enough. Another downfall, is that we really thought we were getting a guesthouse-kind-of-hotel....the kind where you meet the sweet family whose house you're staying in, and they cook you a warm, full breakfast, and you get to interact with a real Icelandic family. That is not the case here....there was one (very nice) gentleman who manned breakfast, which was toast, deli meat slices, some cucumber slices, orange marmalade, and some dry cereal. There is a coffee machine, where you push the button for what you'd like, and it will do various drinks for you....but, they taste similar to what you could purchase in a gas station. Better than nothing, to be sure....

Ease of access, friendly staff, great facility, awesome breakfast. Very quaint and lovely.

If you don´t have a car, this hotel is definitely the wrong choose. Buses are very rare and for a restaurant you have to walk at least one hour! The rooms are ok, but very small.

Good countyside house with only 4 or maybe 5 rooms. Close to road#1. Very nice and spacious room with 2 windows.

Our friends didn't like the size of their room because they couldn't put their 3 luggage bags inside.

One of our favourite places on the Ring Road. Easy to find, the host is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms have their own bathrooms. Very quiet and comfortable.

Amazing location

The staff is really kindly and the common room is really nice. The place is really quiet with a good view. Internet is available free in the hall with a common pc.

The room was really small, the necessary to stay. The position is "in the middle of nowhere", but if you come in iceland this is not a problem :)

We were just two, myself and my 15 year old daughter.. We loved it! Welcome Edinborg is a little well-kept "jewel".. Situated off the beaten path with an amazingly, beautiful view of Eyjafjallajokull - (quite silent at the time..) and lovely surrounding mountains. Clean fresh, peaceful - rooms are small, but very comfortable with own private bathroom and clean towels delivered daily. A good restaurant nearby.. CowHouse.. Also wonderful - an old family farm that converted their cow house into a very cozy and beautiful restaurant with Icelandic food...also very conveniently located.. We took a day trip to Westman Islands-stunnig! Ilya, the attendant, was extremely gracious and kind - assisted with our every need. I hurt my ankle one day and he gave me a bag of ice to help.. .Great memories!

The isolated location almost under the Ice Cap was very quiet and you could hear the wildlife in the mountains. The twin beds were extremely comfortable, and the facilities were very clean. Having a tea/coffee machine available was very welcome; the relaxation are upstairs was excellent. make sure you go to the geo-thermal pool at the end of the valley. This place is a gem.

We are an mature couple received a tiny room & at the same time few individuals were staying at the hotel in bigger rooms.

Amazing landscape and excellent service

Only one problem - breakfast was not so great. No yogurts or soure milk for cereals, bread taste as a plastic bread. Not everybody like toast. My friend and me already now how excellent is bread in Iceland.

Close to Route 1 but very quiet. Nicely decorated rooms, ensuite bathroom, views of the mountains. Included breakfast is continental style (cereal, toast, ham, cheese etc) self-service upstairs, although owner is there if any requests. Although we were given a key code to get in on arrival, the owner was there to greet us and showed us to the room, explaining about breakfast and also where we could go for dinner. There is a pleasant seating area upstairs with lovely views and comfy sofas so you do have somewhere else to go apart from your room. There are 3 restaurants within 5-10 mins drive for dinner (two are in small hotels).

Rather noisy first thing in the morning as other guests left very early and slammed their doors. The bathroom was small but adequate for us.

We didn't like: The rooms has dif. ares from good to poor - very small area. It is unpossible to put lagage to the room
