Billiards/ darts area was nice.
Since there was no reception and no near supermarkets/mini markets/ cafes, a coffee vending machine would be necessary.
The location is amazing, it feels otherwordly.
No reception. Once there you need to call an Icelandic number and wait for a Russian speaking lady to come and open the door for you. She didn't speak English, Icelandic, German, French or Spanish... only Russian, so she was kind of helpless.
The location was excellent
The lativan guy on staff had not a clue. Needed moreTP... He was lost on request. Stated toiled- rm105 was running. He was lost. Paid for the worst breakfast and lithiunian lady served slate molded bread.
Efficient check-in system. A sober stay if you want a quiet night before going hiking.
The room is so tiny that it is inconvenient to let the luggage open, and there is no wardrobe. No shelf in the bathroom to put your things out, and the flush was leaking. The wall was paper thin. No access to the kitchen, so you can't cook anything when you arrive late (even if you are in the middle of nowhere).
location, easy to find
no facilities for cooking
Beautifully set in the mountains. Historic swimming pool near by. Quiet and almost empty (we were there in winter). kind of overslept, but no problem for later check out.
Local manager doesn't speak Icelandic nor english, which shows cheapness of owner and bad management. Apart from language skills, the lady is unfriendly. A bit less so her associate, but still not welcoming. (However, you won't have to deal with them much)
accessibility around the road
closest restaurant at 5km breakfeast in the neighbouring at 08 min walk Rats during the night Smelling of the room (humidity)
The upstairs area was great with lots of games, a pool table and plenty of space to relax. Nice dark place to see the northern lights.
The actual rooms are quite small, and the kitchen was unavailable for guest use.
It is really in the middle of nowhere, so it is very quiet and suitable to seeing the aurora. Having an ensuite bathroom is convenient. Good location, close to the Skogafoss waterfall.
The room was very, very small. The kitchen is closed off, and not available for customers.
Very nice room, with private bathroom. Value for money is perfect. Upstairs the place has an entertainment room. WiFi in the room while not mentioned on their website.
The closest supermarket or restaurant is far away or close by and expensive so keep this in mind before arrival.
the bed was lovely. Security was really good. Very convenient to check in and out. Bathroom inside the bedroom
bathroom couldn't be locked.
Ease of guesthouse use
Field Mouse Infestation Management did not respond to our complaints after the fact and several emails Stay away from this place
Location perfect, scenery amazing.
The room is really too small. No extra spaces except the beds for triple room.
Nice Hostel, clean and confortable.
Isolated, the staff was not there and you need to call the number to get the door code.
Nicely decorated rooms, beautiful hang out spot upstairs
Thin walls, WiFi didn't work
Location was amazing, a quick drive to both the natural wonders of Vik and Skógar. Excellent value for money! Great breakfast served in the hotel next door. The sitting room upstairs was a nice space to relax, mingle, play a game of pool and it was convenient to have access to a kettle + microwave. Beds were comfortable, showers were hot. Very clean + well maintained. The "self serve" check-in and check-out was easy and convenient.
I really liked it here and have no negative comments.
Location, location, location. Large and clean apartment. We liked having a key code and not having to meet someone at reception.
The room was super tiny. There's a large shared space upstairs, but the kitchen is staff only.
Location - the huge room upstairs with the pool table and for hanging out - Nice front porch with a killer view
Having to remember the code everytime at the main door
The location is incredible. It's very easy to check in and out. You can walk behind the building through a lava field to swim in a thermal pool.
The breakfast was way too expensive!
quiet, clean room, very nice common room, billiard table , near the waterfall , view from the window !! at the foot of Eyjafjallajökull -famous volcano:)
small bathroom ( but clean)
Good location, just a bit outside of Vik with easy access to some of the local sights (waterfalls, crashed DC3 site, etc). Sizable rooms with their own bathrooms are a welcome sight and though we did not use them, the pool table and upstairs area are great.
We showed up at literally the last day of the summer season,so there may have been some confusion, but check-in was a little strange with the caretaker not seeming to realize that we were coming and the addition of on-site breakfast would be nice.
We were not on the list at hotel edinborg so we received a much nicer room with our own toilet and shower at a hotel right beside the hotel we had actually booked. The other hotel was much nicer, a big blockhouse with much more confort.
Helpful staff & great view of glacier from the restaurant
Room is a bit small
We stayed here when we couldn't find anything available in Vik. We were in a triple room which was small, but we only needed it to sleep so it was fine. The beds were very comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised by the hot water and water pressure for being out in a remote area! Free wifi and great views of the mountain. We didn't get to the common area and were told there was no breakfast, but we were only there for a short time (and departing too early for breakfast anyway) so that was fine. The host was very friendly. Would recommend if you just need a comfortable place to crash.
