The breakfast was great! The hotel was what we needed!!
There was no face to talk to, no reception so it makes the experience cold.
Great location to explore Vik and the area. The breakfast was pretty good.
No hot water nor wifi when we arrived. Had to call a girl who answered with her children on the back. We finally managed to see someone who didn't speak english very well and told us just to wait... Furnitures are old, room is quite small... Not a great place to stay!
Breakfast was nice. Plenty of it. Good location for visiting beaches waterfalls etc. We didnt eat in the restaurant in the evenings as we were exploring other places.
Room was too hot, even with radiator off, although this was usueful for drying wet clothes !
Location, handy check in & breakfast
Nobody at the Reception Desk Virtual Self Checking System Soul Less Hotel Poor Quality Products for Breakfast Non Happy Staff
The bedrooms were minimal containing everything you needed for a good night's sleep. The bathroom was clean and suitable with a colour changing shower head. Welcome hotel Vik has a good sized car park and was easy to find, signposted well.
There was no-one to greet us, we were advised to call a number and received a pass code to unlock our door key. As there was no one to greet us we were not advised of the facilities etc and did not attend breakfast as we did not remember it was included in the price.
Breakfast was exceptional Comfortable night sleep
Nobody at check in, had to phone them
Nice and cozy.
This is a tiny town and location is good. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Although it looked a little shabby, everything is clean and beds comfortable. We slept well!
The standard rooms could use an update as they are in the older part of the hotel. Superior rooms are in the new addition. Would have appreciated a better clarification about this when I booked.
it was a very bad experience staying in welcome hotel in vik. first of all, the price isn't cheap, but it looks old and unclean. the worst thing is they don't have hot water!! we tried twice in the late night and early morning, and still couldn't shower!! the staff told us it's because they have many guests checked in, so they didn't have enough hot water to supply....
The town of Vik is in the middle of quite a few attractions so the Welcome Hotel was our home base for 2 nights. Room was small but clean, had its own bathroom. Breakfast was included.
Make sure you keep your towel as room was not refreshed. We had a balcony attached to our room but I guess I'm not real bright as I could not figure out how to unlock the door even after the gentleman gave me a demonstration!!!!! Of all our stays this room was the most expensive
Kind staff, great location, great shower with wonderfully hot water, convenient parking. Good breakfast.
Lots of traffic noise at night since our room faced the street. (Request a room at the back.) Room was tired, needed an update. No black-out shades (needed for good sleep given the long daylight hours). We had requested twin beds, but were given a double instead.
Well located. Good breakfast
Staff not specially friendly. Restaurant mediocre. Overpriced!
We slept in de renovated section. The rooms where clean, good bed. Good wifi in our room. There where problems with the hot water en wifi, but the staff tackled these problems swift.
Some of the staff hardly speak any English. It looks like the hotel is run by east europeans who where just starting. The breakfast is very basic, but that is no excuse for badly cleaned glasses, plates etc. Though my room was clean and cleaned every day.
Rooms too small. Restaurant closed at meal time. Staff posted signs instead of being available for travelers.
Rooms are nice and modern. Location is good.
We stayed 2 days and they didn't clean our room. They do not read comments placed at booking so they didn't book an extra bed for our kid as requested, we had to sleep altogether in the same bed.
Functional and adequate. Good location, next to very nice restaurant.
Breakfast was ok but limited.
The amenities were very very basic and the room rate is way overpriced for the what you're getting. The room needs renovation and the upholstery looks old.
- beautiful rooms, comfortable, modern - delicious and generous breakfast - location
- outside of building not attractive - poor wifi - very expensive for a family (needed to book 2 rooms)
just the location
bad atmosphere and poor service
The room was adequate and quiet. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. The information centre is in the adjacent building as is an excellent restaurant, Halldorskaffi.
Not getting firm confirmation of the bed arrangement we had asked for before we arrived. All ended well.
This was just awful from walking in to walking out. The staff was unpleasant and rude. 70 Euros for adding a child bed!!! I liked walking out!
location and comfort
