Location - lots of tourist attractions to see nearby. Recommendation of good, local restaurants to eat in. Hot tub. Member of staff present in spite of email prior to arrival which said there wouldn't be.
Breakfast was pretty decent but nothing special
Beds were good, room was clean, very, very quiet. Understand that you're essentially staying at a lodge.
Staff were brusque. The breakfast was minimal and of minimal quality.
A charming hotel made by wood. The rooms are very confortable and clean. The hot water bath was a very relaxing corner. Friendly and helpfull stuff.
The breakfast was quite disappointing. There was no local products (and there are pleanty farms around) and nothing homemade.
Nice guy at the reception, although only summer jobber, quiet, nice views, nice lobby
Pathetic breakfast, only one towel per guest, zero amenities, hostel atmosphere, dirty hotpot, too basic for the price, large room but hardly any furniture, small breakfast room
Beautiful wooden building in excellent position at the mountain foot, close to the glacial river and with a small warm pool outdoors.
The modern high ceiling wooden reception hall. Hot water in the hot tub outdoor.
As soon as I opened the door room, I realized that it was a cheap motel, but not a log cabin as I thought. The room was small, the door to the bathroom was impossible to close. It was very cold in the room. There was no table or refrigerator in the room. I wasn't be able to regulate the temperature in the room. I was glad that I was going to spend just one night in this hotel which was build so fast that no one was considering the fact that people are guests who need some "hommy" feeling. The breakfast was included, but the coffee machine was broken, everything was cold, the hair was found in the food. The staff was trying to be nice. Very disappointed, would not recommend anyone to stay in this cold, did attached guest house, where guests are not valued.
The log cabin building looks charming.
Many, many things. First the Welcome Hotel is not a hotel but a 'guest' house, using the hotel name to achieve higher prices. There was no view of glaciers or a relevant view of the ocean which is a sliver 3 km away even though these are promoted on Booking.com. The floors in the room are so noisy that every, every move upstairs was enough to wake us as was either of us getting up. There were squashed insects on the windows and flies in the room and bathroom. We were given one towel each. These were not changed for the second day because we did not put them on the floor which is hard to do if you have only one towel and do not know when the room will be cleaned. The room was not cleaned since this is a guest house and not a hotel. The pillows were the poorest quality I have ever experienced in hundreds of nights at hotels. The sheets, while clean, were very rough. When we commented on the towels, we were told that Americans do not understand how things are done in Europe. In fact, I am English, spent much of my life living in Germany, England, Greece and Italy and my wife and I travel extensively in Europe, often staying at bed and breakfasts. As for other services, the coffee machine and ice machine were broken. The breakfast was meager and the meats, cheese and bread the least expensive available. The internet was only available sporadically and clearly does meet the needs of the place. Finally, the manager (?) spent his time in the jacuzzi and drinking wine instead of fixing broken equipment, cleaning bugs off of windows and trying to solidify the floor fastenings. I have never had this type of experience before.
hot bath on a terrace. Nice rooms.
No restoran, just breakfast.
Hotel Lambafell was the first place we stayed on our vacation to Iceland and it was a nice way to start the trip. It is located in a quiet spot, by the mountains and close to both the volcano and the Skogafoss. The hotel is designed like a large wood cabin and the rooms were both comfortable and inviting. The staff was very nice and accommodating and were responsive to our requests.
The breakfast was a bit spartan and not quite as nice as the hotel itself.
The log cabin style is unique in a place where there are no forests. It is at the foot of the mountain looking over the sea. Our room was ready even with a midnight arrival. breakfast was adequate. it is a shame this was not nicer, since it is the only log cabin in the country. Of the 6 places we stayed, this was the most interesting but also least liked place. Even the hostel was better.
We got stuck in the loft room, which is uninhabitable for anyone but a child, with a steep sloping ceiling cutting it in half. The atmosphere is strangely uncomfortable, maybe due to the uninterested staff. The log cabin style is not executed properly, with exposed bolts making it look unfinished. it must have been remodeled, since many of the rooms seem to be half of what they should be.
Nice natural hot tub! Nice place to start hiking or go to Reykjavik, etc
We arrived late and the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The late night frozen pizza options available as a snack was a lifesaver as we arrived with 3 hungry kids after 9pm. The views are fabulous.
It would be great if they served boiled eggs for breakfast or some oatmeal.
Posto bello, hot spot, internet ok e con business area free.
Indicazioni carenti. Colazione medio livello.
Quiet picturesque Location. Comfortable room and bed. Very friendly staff.
Have to drive elsewhere to find dinner. Breakfast is fairly basic.
The setting , location, hotel ...wonderful!
the staff the cleanings
The staff was really nice. Really cool, unique looking hotel at a really nice location.
As we stayed for four nights, it would've been nice with a better wardrobe. The bubble pool could be replaced for one that works too ;)
Great location near skogafoss, close to a hidden outdoor swimming pool
hot tub reliable internet
Toffe sfeer , toffe uitbaters , primapension , no nosens!
Nice rooms and hot tub
Breakfast room is really too small and the choice is limited
one of the superior rooms (101) is very small (less than 15 sqm), but has a large bathroom; poor breakfast
