EXE Domus Aurea is next to ancient Roman ruins and the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli. A generous American buffet is served daily on the roof terrace overlooking the Terme di Diocleziano.
Score from 720 reviews Very good

Hotel Sonya is in a quiet area of central Rome, in front of the Opera House and 50 yards from the Viminale Palace. Rooms have free internet and a cable TV.

The friendly staff and they were very obliging. The room was very comfortable. Good location.
The heating was a bit too high. Would have prefered to have breakfast available.
Me and my girlfriend were amazed by this hotel. We paid £200 for four nights, which is brilliant for the standard of hotel you get. It's rated 3 star and is definitely better than that. To sum it up, it's modern (but it keeps a authentic Italian style), clean, well located, helpful staff, basically everything you want in a hotel.
I will say one thing. There's a little kitchen and the end of the corridor, where you can make coffee etc, which is quite irritating when your room is next to it, because your trying to sleep and all you can hear is banging! Just advise if booking, request a room away from this area.
The double bed was huge and comfortable, excellent nights sleep. Rooms facing the inner courtyard are quiet. Bathroom with shower and very basic toiletries, hairdryer. There was a sink in the room and two electric hobs (but no pots so even did not check if working). On the corridor there was a kettle with a selection of teas, mugs, plates, cutlery for common use. Entrance with your own card 24h. There is free wifi, worked fine in the room.
No breakfast at the hotel, but there are plenty of bars nearby. As it was cold at night tried to use AC on warm setting, but when turned on it gave a ton of dust so gave up on using it.
Staff, location, personal touch, close to shopping... very safe area
Lovely shower but was a bit to figure out.... water pressure in bathroom sink was very strong -water went everywhere especially when trying to get warm water.
Very clean and we had a late arrival (2 a.m.) but they waited anyway until we had arrived at the hotel
Weird Wifi provision
It is a nice, clean hotel in a very interesting neighbourhood for citytrips. Nice bathroom. Good free wifi.
The rooms are quite noisy, we could hear the other rooms very hard. We were under the impression that we also booked breakfast but there is no breakfast facility available. We booked a larger bed (2,10m) but we did not get that. The beds are quite hard.
Price and location
The male staff member at reception was excellent. We had a slight problem on arrival, not related to hotel, and the staff member was very patient and helpful. Room was a little small but comfortable.
Location was terrific, a quiet and safe street with good restaurants very close.
No obvious lobby so there was no staff person to get advice from easily.
Excellent location, very close to Termini Station. Rooms were fabulous and very clean. Shower in the bathroom was AMAZING. staff were very helpful and friendly. Marco was extremely friendly and showed us to our room on check in. Lovely man! :) will be back.
Location was convenient and safe. Close to Temini Station and across from Opera house. We were able to walk to all major sites ( 20 min to Spanish Steps). Bathroom was state of the art with spa shower and modern fixtures. A/C worked well. Windows were soundproof. Marco who greeted us was helpful and courteous. This hotel has the potential of a higher rating.
We were on 1st floor and were able to walk up. Staircase could have been cleaner. Office is not manned 24 hrs and hotel services are limited. I believe someone is there until 10pm not sure when they start in morning. The common service area for guests ( sink refrig hot water kettle etc) was less than our expectations. I was aware there was no breakfast or food service. No tissues in bathroom or bedroom and very limited toiletries. Wifi was not working on our last day which made things more chaotic for departing. Other than Marco the other office staff we encountered seemed less enthusiastic.
Comfortable hotel in good location, within walking distance to most of Romes sights. Helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.
WI-FI does not work inside room, no one can or willing to fix it. No person on site in the night if you have issue, like air conditioning is not working.
Mainly the excelente central location, Good rooms with very good shower and the sympathy
Total absence of any facilities, this is not an hotel building with various services, this is an old building partially adapted to Hotel with rooms and a small reception. The internet photo induces into mistake, it belongs to Rome's Opera Building which is in front of the Hotel.
The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Great facilities with bar fridge, air conditioning and the most amazing shower I have ever seen. Small kitchenettes are available as well
Nice clean room in a great location.
Room was cleaned daily
good airconditioning good sound insulation to the street nice shower good bed beautiful old building with charming elevator Good walkable location from Termini, lots of restaurants in the area.
sounds from next room where very present. Normal talking neighbours, zippers, shower, could all be heard clearly. Really thin wall. wifi signal was minimal at top floor.
Comfort room with lovely bathroom.
Tv reception was poor sometimes picture breaks. Reception not available 24 hrs
This hotel wasn't as fancy as the hotels we stayed at earlier in our honeymoon but we loved it just as much! It was exactly was we were looking for. Our room was clean and beautiful. It was small, but it is designed in a way that the space is used to it's maximum potential. We noticed lots of little details that were well thought out. There are lightswitches/lamps set into the wall by the bed. The luggage stand is set in by the window so it doesn't take up much room. The closet is up high but they provide a special reaching stick for the hangers. The bathroom is very modern and has a fancy touch screen shower with lights that change colour. The bathroom door had full length mirrors on both sides, which helps when you and your partner are getting ready for dinner :) Our TV had a DVD player so you can borrow DVDs from the office. After a long day of sightseeing and walking we liked to hit the supermarket to stock our fridge with snacks and cold beer/wine and watch a movie before bed. It was just what we needed! Marco took care of us for most of our stay, and his service was excellent. He always helped us with directions on the giant helpful maps they keep in the office that they give you for your stay. I would HAPPILY stay there again or recommend it to my friends.
The hotel is close to Termini station, yes. But Termini station is huge. Make sure you know which exit to go out of, and map your way to the hotel ahead of time. Otherwise it will be a longer walk with your luggage. The sign on the front of the hotel is very small and the picture they use is actually the view from the hotel (gorgeous!), but not the property itself.. So it is hard to know what to look for. -The bed is large and comfortable except for the fact that it is two mattresses pushed together and they would drift apart by morning. If the hotel coved the mattresses with some sort of thicker mattress cover, this would help keep them together and make it more comfortable to sleep near the middle of the bed.
Beautiful rooms that combine classic decoration with hi-tech comfort
Ideal position near Termini. Hotels near main railway stations are often a little run down but this wasn't. Access to coffee making facility
shower unnecessarily complicated
Very comfortable room and great bathroom. Close to metros, buses and termini, opposite the opera theatre this boutique hotel is in a central location with a wonderful restaurant next door. While breakfast is not included there are lots of options in the street.
*room layout and decor *friendless and attentiveness of staff *bed was very comfortable
*expected iron and iron board in room *fridge in room was not working *lighting on staircase was poor *visibility of hotel sign *no tea and coffee making facilities in room
