Hotel Rio is located in the centre of Venice, just 250 metres from Saint Mark’s Square. Free WiFi access is available in all areas.
Score from 67 reviews Wonderful
In the heart of Venice, the family-run Hotel Concordia overlooks Saint Mark’s Square. The entrance is in Calle Larga, a picturesque street with restaurants and bars.
Score from 656 reviews Excellent
In Venice's quiet Dorsoduro neighborhood, Hotel Messner is just a few steps from the Salute water bus stop. It features classically-furnished rooms and a varied breakfast buffet.
Score from 663 reviews Good
Hotel Al Vagon is located just a 5 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge. It offers a 24-hour front desk and a restaurant.
Score from 611 reviews Good
Really great location, quiet residential street yet only short walk from St Mark's Square. Lovely spacious property - larger than expected for the price paid and with everything you might need provided. Hope to return to Venice soon as one night not long enough and would definitely stay here again.
WiFi very patchy _ but hadn't been expecting WiFi so really anything was a bonus!!
Lovely owners Good shower It's a good price for summer in Venice, 15 min walk to St Marks, 5 mins to water bus station Cafés nearby Not too touristy Good air con
Room is quite small Ground floor with window opening directly into the alley outside (not a lot of foot traffic but can be loud if you're a light sleeper) It suited us as we were out for most of the day. Not recommended for those who want fully self serviced.
Apartment B & B Casa Mia in Venice we loved. Cozy, clean, perfect location a 15-minute walk from the main attractions (Piazza San Marco) and a 5-minute walk from the vaporetto station. Near a beautiful street with shops, food market and a couple of cafes and a park with a monument to Garibaldi. Very hospitable hosts - Silvia and Piero, contact us in advance, clarified our preferences, provide a place to store luggage on departure day after between calculated hour, because we were leaving in the evening, and the keys are handed over in 11 hours. If more zahitim visit Venice, would definitely stay again in this apartment.
Little sits bath, it was slippery. But it's the little things that do not spoil the overall good experience.
location is nice but a bit far from the san marco plazza
no breakfast no wifi working the flat rented could have been used for 6 but the add only states 4 person so I did had to book a second room
Clean, reasonable location, though photo is misleading.
Noisy, uncomfortable bed, rough bedding and towels.
Location was good and room and bathroom were clean.
The directions to the property were not clear, so it was very difficult finding the place, especially with luggage. The room was very very smally and did not have enough space for our luggage... we had to leave our luggage on the ground floor which was very inconvenient. The AC had an unpleasent smell which the manager just brushed of as ' this is Venice'. Wifi did not work. Will not stay here again.
- the bathroom is really clean - the host was nice
- the location isn't too bad considering it's in walking distance to Piazza San Macro. Takes around 35 min by water bus from the train station
The location is wonderful. It is in a peaceful neighborhood that is very safe. We watched a world cup match at a sidewalk cafe until after midnight with our 10 year old son. We felt welcome and safe and had a very special time. Then we had a 3 minute walk to our apartment. I will remember that for a long time, and so will my son. The owners are fantastic. I made a dumb mistake with my booking arrangements which caused the owners to scramble to accommodate incoming guests because we had not left the apartment on time. The owners were gracious and very helpful. When it was all over, we laughed about my mistake, which helped relieve some of my intense embarrassment. Just wonderful...
No wifi in the aparment, and we were never able to get the "free" wifi to work on the streets. So, we went to cafes and got coffee to use their wifi (which was just fine with us!)
The guy who runs the place is nice and cheerful. The position of the hotel is not bad, but hard to find. The beds are comfortable, shared bathrooms are clean. Wifi connectivity is good.
The hotel does not offer anything besides wifi and bed. They didnt even offered breakfast. They don't sell anything, but do help you with getting water.
Silvia is a caring and welcoming host. The place is easy to find with the instructions provided, and the location is perfect: close to most interesting parts, but not in the labirynth of the timy streets you will never find an easy way to, and not in the epicenter of tourist life.
There were no wifi connection in our apartment, and even the one in the B&B itself did't work for me.
We had a room in a small apartment so it was good to have access to a kitchen. We were in close walking distance to Santa Marco's square. Very convenient and quiet location.
If I could do it again I would find a bigger room with a large bed (we opted for twins) on a small canal. Otherwise no complaints.
The clerk was very friendly and helpful, she did everything to make our stay as convenient as possible.
We had a very unfriendly welcome, because we were charged a 50,- € fine because of being late. We arrived on a friday at 9 45 pm and called before. This is not service oriented from our point of view. In many other places in the world no owner would dare this...
Excellent location for visiting the Biennale. Newly renovated and very clean. Really quiet neighborhood.
Lots of overhearing, thin walls.
We loved the location of the B&B. It was an area with more local Venitians and the landlady looked after us very well. The bathroom was very clean and right outside our door we only had to share it with one more room so it was not a problem. We will definitely be staying there again if we go back to Venice.
the location is good, but really, apart from this there wasn't anything to like about this place.
Internet does not work. If you arrive after 23:00 you have to pay 50 euro's extra. Very dirty room: there where literally bloodstains on the wall from all the squashed mosquitoes everywhere...and the live ones keep you awake. Horrible experience.
Quiet location, friendly staff, clean facilities,
It was a difficult location to find but the staff did their best in advance to make it easier to get to
Good location away from the tourist throng
Stairs are steep if you are taking big bags
Location was near to everything but streets were not too crowded. Lucia was so kind and helpful. Room and bath were scrupulously clean. Small street where B&B was seemed like a real part of Venice, homes, children, pets, laundry hanging from 2nd floor windows. We always felt very safe. WIFI was good.
- clean and tidy - good location - easy connection to the airport and transport boats, not too far from the centre, but at the same time far enough away to have some quiet and not feel like you are in the middle of a tourist crowd.
- late check-in after 9 (for extra fee) is not very convenient - it was hard to find anyone to ask questions
The place was a well organized apartment in a residential area. The owner was very helpful for our trip around the city. Please beware that it's not easy to locate the house without following the direction provided by the owner via email. Besides, breakfast was rather simple.
Very nice owners, very nice location, far off the tourist areas, very close to a great trattoria (Tosi), very close to the Biennale locations. Venice is a very small city, you can travel by foot easily.
Stayed for 2 nights in an apartment at a different location 300 m away - "Superior one bedroom for 3 adults". Very clean. Amazing location far from crowds - right on the canal, first floor (but in a quiet and safe area), you feel you are in real Venice! Vaporetto is a short walk, supermarket, bakery, good restaurants are close. A walk across several bridges along the shore - or just 2 or 3 stops on vaporetto will take you to St.Marco. It has everything - a full kitchen (oil, sugar, tea are provided or left by previous travelers), microwave, new washing machine (which has a mind of its own and there are no English directions, but it works!) The most spacious of all the places we stayed at in Italy (6 in all). The owners are nice, they helped us with our luggage (there is one bridge on the way from B&B and the apartment), and gave a great suggestion for a restaurant. DIRECTIONS. It is hard to find the main address of the B&B (we still needed to find the main location to get the keys to our apartment). Make sure you ask the owner to send you exact directions with the map (they were sent to my work address after I'd left for the trip). Google or GPS will send you far away from where you should be - the street that you need is off Garibaldi and is hiding in an arch next to (what is for now) a pizza place. It looks like ar house, but you walk through it and get to another very narrow street and the B&B. When you get off a vaporetto at Giardini - walk through the park - it is a nice shortcut. The location is far from the railway station, so if you have large suitcases it is a little uncomfortable to get them on the water bus. Take 4.2 or 5.2 - they make fewer stops and get you there in about 40 minutes. Avoid #1 and #2 - it will take you forever and crowds will be getting on and off at every stop. If you have time and don't have many things to carry - then of course take #1 and enjoy the Grand Canal views.
Not much to dislike. There is no Internet, and our phones went dead inside the apartment every time - no calls could be made or received (Italian SIM-card and provider). A couple of steps outside the house - you get the signal again. And one more issue. Although it was an apartment for 3 people, I booked in my name, and booking.com did not show that the price is different if you have two people. We had to pay about 30 euro extra for each night (why? the price of extra bedding? then why charge for every night if it is not changed?) That changed my perception of value a bit. Otherwise I would say it is a more expensive place but you get what you pay for - a great experience and a relaxed stay.
Hosts' smile is best! First, after reservation, we found out we could not make in time for check-in time due to flight change. Then they arranged nice B&B close to airport for us. Moreover, I joined Venicemarathon, then they instructed me water bus time table and station map. And we were informed legal time change timing. It helped us a lot because next day was Marathon and we had to get to bus stop at 6:50 am. Finally on departure day, we were very surprised. They left us my marathon record / result which they printed out from website for us. Our stay at A Casa Mia has become an unforgettable memory!!! What a nice B&B! Hope to stay here also next time:)
Be care, don't be late for checking-in, although you already put your luggage there! Otherwise you have to pay 50€ for half hour delay, even they didn't warn you before. That's definitely unfair!!!
