Very nice and pretty hotel in an excellent location. A few steps from the grand canal and the Rialto Bridge and only 5-10 minutes walk to St Mark's square. Our rooms were lovely, and we could see the Campanille (the bell tower in St Mark's) from our bathroom window. Staff were extremely professional, helpful and friendly. They arranged a delightful free visit to the Murano glass factory (recommended) which comes with a free water taxi ride (worth going just for the trip along the canal and across the lagoon). No restaurant but plenty of choices a few steps away. When we left the hotel arranged a water taxi for us to the airport and took our bags out to the grand canal to board. Sounds expensive at 110 euros but its the best 110 euros I have spent! What a fantastic and memorable way to end a trip to Venice. Again, highly recommended. Free wi-fi is only for 30 minutes then you pay 8 euro for another 3 hours. Not an enormous problem, but for 180 euro per room per night I think guests nowadays have a right to expect free wi-fi as a standard service. The a la commedia is not the only hotel that hasn't worked this out yet but it is irritating. That said, no other complaints. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We spent two days in Venece. Our experience at the Hotel La Comedia exeeded our expectacions. The location was great, a few blocks from the San Marcos Plaza and a few steps from the Grand Cannal. The facility was spotless, the room was very comfortable, good breakfast, and a very relaxing terrace, specially nice after a long day of walking. But truly the best of all...your staff. Always cordial, happy, and ready to help us all the time. We will definitely recommend the Hotel to anybody either traveling alone, or with the spouse, or even for a family with kids Nothing that we could say we didn't like about the hotel. If any recommendation, I will suggest to have better mattress and bedding, they are ok but not the best quality. I will also recommend to have available better instructions about how to reach the hotel.

Don't be fooled by the name "commedia'. They take their business seriously. This hotel is extremely well run. The staff could not have been more kind and helpful. The rooms are sumptuously designed. The breakfast room is well managed and the breakfast good. We paid when we booked months ago and when we arrived we were upgraded to a Suite. Magnificent. Highest compliments to this fine Venice hotel.

Staff were very friendly and helpful made our stay unforgettable and a free upgrade to a suite. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to Venice. Was easy to find the location and central to all the attractions. Ask at reception if you stay as they organise trips to the other islands! Breakfast was good but would have enjoyed more variety and a cooked breakfast option

Excellent location. Between San Marco and Rialto. Very clean. Third bed in Junior suite was a sofa:uncomfortable. Heating was through the air conditioning system: unmanageable ... get hot or cold air during all night.

A 3-minute walk to St. Marco square, fantastic location near major shopping and restaurant streets, yet there is enough privacy to get a fantastic sleep. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, all of our needs were met immediately. Our room was upgraded for free from a double to a junior suit with fantastic decor and a very spacious balcony. Definitely will return again!

Absolutely amazing hotel, wonderful staff who were very polite and helpful. Stunning rooms which were amazingly clean. Location was fantastic for exploring the main tourist attractions. Continental breakfast was very good. Would definately stay there again and would recommend to friends without a doubt. Would have liked tea making facilities in the room but this is the only gripe so it's not worth moaning about really!! Go there and be amazed! Thank you to the staff for the upgrade to a suite, we had two balconies and a great view!! Don't forget to go to the rooftop bar, beautiful views

It was very central to all the sites and they were helpful with advising you about what to see and how to go about it. They charged for internet use which for the price of the hotel should have been free.

The room was very spacious and clean and hotel very conveniently located. The staff was not always helpful and very difficult to gain use the computer. Acted like it was a big deal whereas the other hotels we stayed in europe were very generous in letting us use their computer room.

Beautiful rooms. Great location. Top staff. We were a group of six celebrating a special birthday and the staff went out of their way to book and arrange a fantastic resturant. Bar was closed but night duty served us just the same. Rooms were spotless. Breakfast room had plenty to choose from fruit cheese meats pastries etc. altogether a perfect holiday.

Absolutely loved it. The position was great as it was only 50 yards from the grand canal where we dropped off by water taxi and 100 yards from the Rialto vaporetto stop. Its central position means that everything is within walking distance. Rooms were great and so was the breakfast.

The perfect location for walking Venice. We came in January so the price was cheaper. The hotel was clean, very upscale and was perfect for a weekend getaway. We came down for breakfast at 9:15 and the eggs and bacon were gone and they did not make anymore. Thought for the price of the hotel they should still be serving the main course for breakfast until the time was over which was 10:00.

I recommend this hotel to all visitors. It is very close to both the Realto bridge and the San Marco plaza. It also is relatively easier to be found, so is an ideal location for most of visitors. The room looks very new and is very clean (I saw no hair on the floor). The bathroom with marble stones(walls and lavatory) is beautiful and also very clean. We stayed there with a one-year-old boy and they prepared three sets of towels. The bath tub is very clean for washing a baby. These are really helpful for a family with a small child. The staff are really kind and helpful especially for finding restaurants and shops you like. Note for visitors who plan to arrive at the airport late at night: Take the ATVO airport shuttle to Rome plaza, and then take the vaporetto (water bus) line 1, 2, or N. REALTO is the closest stop to the hotel. Actually, there's no complaint about this hotel.
