Hotel A La Commedia    

The hotel was absolutely fantastic. I stayed 2 nights with my brother, and had a wonderful experience in Venice. The location was excellent, located in a quiet spot of Venice, very close to grand canal - Rialto Bridge, main transportation and within a few minutes’ walk of the main tourist areas. The breakfast was great. The room was comfortable and clean, with large bathroom and sitting area. The staff was nice and helpful, they helped us to planned the tour around city center and other islands (Murano, Burano etc.), also provide a free water taxi to Murano island.

Only provided 24 hrs free wi-fi. Limited usage rate of internet, and also counted the time of usage.

Location and room design. Friendly staff. Nice amenities.

Certainly not a 5 star hotel. Advertise kids under 12 free but then charge. Some rude staff (Frederico) which was a shame as others were good. Wifi doesn't work in room.

No slippers and no bath robes, come on!

Location was ideal for exploring this beautiful city. All the staff on reception were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Trip to a Murano glassware producer was arranged by hotel free of charge, though prices were well out of our range. Treat it like an art gallery and just admire the skill involved. Our room was attractive but the bed was a bit firm. Bathroom beautiful. No noticable noise filtered in to the room, but maybe that was the time of year.

Absolutely loved everything about Hotel A La Commedia. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff, The room was beautiful venetian style with plush white carpet, huge bathroom with bath and rain shower. The location could not have been better, among many shops and just a few minutes from st. Mark's Square. If you want to pamper yourself in beautiful surroundings, look no further. I travel all over the world and I give it a 5 star thumbs up. I will be back.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary upgrade and complimentary bottle of prosecco on arrival was great. Breakfast good. Location excellent. Complimentary guide book a pleasant surprise. Overall an excellent hotel.

There was one bartender who was kind of rude to us. Other than that the stay was perfect!

From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel not only welcome, but special. They were friendly but unobtrusive. In addition they were very helpful with restaurant bookings and recommendations on what to see. The room was very nicely decorated and well equipped

Hotel was very convenient for seeing the Venice sights including St. Mark's Square, Rialto Bridge and Grande Canal since it is within an ez walk to each.

Getting luggage to hotel (almost any hotel) is not so easy as you can only travel by water taxi or water bus and then pull or carry your luggage the rest of the way. But that's Venice!

Helpful and friendly staff, good buffet breakfast included in price, quiet and well appointed room (deluxe double), very nice roof terrace/bar, and a superb location close to the Rialto Bridge. Expensive by comparison to similar 4-star hotels in other cities, but this is Venice after all: the priciest of all European cities to visit. It’s also the most romantic, unique, and memorable place you could ever wish for. When arriving via the Grand Canal, disembark at the Rialto and walk 100mtrs away from the bridge. Look for a small covered passageway called the Carbon. This is not marked on most city maps but it leads directly, and very conveniently, to the hotel. We nicknamed it “the secret tunnel”.

No restaurant or swimming pool. Avoid the restaurant next door (Al Columbo), it’s overpriced and the terrace tables are infested with pigeons: very unhygienic. We had two small beers here that set us back €22.50 (£18.00 / US$28.50)! If you’re looking to take a Gondola trip, don’t book it via the hotel – it will cost you €40 on top of the standard price of €80 for 30 minutes. It’s much cheaper to pay for the trip at the boarding point. Two general tips about Venice: don’t use the bureau de changes (worst exchange rates I’ve ever seen) – if you need to buy euros, do so either before you arrive, or use the bank ATM’s of which there are many. Secondly, don’t buy from the illegal street vendors hawking their counterfeit handbags and single stem roses. The money they fleece from tourists funds organized crime.

Lovely hotel in a great location right near the Ponte Rialto. Beautiful room with a balcony and very large bathroom. Excellent, friendly staff. Quiet.
