The location was excellent very near to the Railway station and water buses. Plenty of places to eat. Lots of shops. No lift our room was on the 2nd floor it was very hot and most uncomfortable, also bed was very hard difficult sleeping, could not open windows because of mosquitoes.

You can tell it used to be a monastery - lots of dark wood, style, large corridors etc. Good selection of items for continental breakfast. Very easy to find from the train station, and 30 second walk to Grand Canal and a vaporetto (water bus) stop, and pretty close to the bus station too. Shopping and restaurants nearby. Friendly staff. Room had a bath only - no shower - although it did have a handheld shower attachment, and amazing water pressure. A little bit dowdy in places, and a couple of minor repairs to plaster would have made it perfect. Very loud church bells at 7:50 each morning - should be up and about by then anyway I guess.

Too expensive for 3-star hotel next to railway station, even for Venice. Staff is very arrogant.

Ideally located near the train station, but nice and quiet. You won't have to bump yours bags all over Venice if you stay here. As for its proximity to church bells, we quite like the sound, and in Italy you'll hear them all the time and everywhere you go. Breakfast was good and there's a lovely garden area to relax in too.

Close to the train station, so it will be a good choice if you need to catch an early train to other places. It's quite though it's close to the train station. The breakfast is good. The internet does not work. I guess it's due to the bandwidth is too small for enough people to get on.

Excellent staff on the reception and in breakfast room, great location just next turn from train station but without any noise of it and 15-minute walk from San-Marco and 1-step from vaparetto station so everything is very close, beautiful garden and good breakfast, very clean for italian hotels little remark - the room is very small, in our case when we stayed only one night it was not a disadvantage, but I'm not sure that I'd like to stay in such room for a week. In any case small space is organised very reasonably and compensated by large bathroom.

Having stayed there before we booked the hotel on merit. The location was perfect with easy access to the waterbus services. The facilities were very good and the staff were amazing - nothing was too much trouble for them. The reception staff had an amazing command of several languages. The price was suitable for our budget. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to our friends and/or to return for a third time!

location is great, near from railway station santa lucia: you don't need to take a boat (vaporetto) to reach the hotel, you have just to walk a few steps.

1. Location - near the train station and Piazza di Roma. 2. Nice yard, but we hadn't chance to enjoy it, because of the season. 3. Matthew (the receptionist) was friendly and funny. 1. The room was smaller than advertised. There were no free space for baby cot. 2. The beds were so inconvenient, that it was impossible to sleep for me and my child. Mattresses were very firm. 3. There were only one wardrobe (with no shelves) in the room, we had to store our clothes in suitcases. 4. The worst thing - the air-conditioning system doesn't work. It wasn't warm enough to sleep with open window, and it was very stifling indoors and hard to sleep.

Just only location! In the room is very poor sound insulation, heard in the upper room merges water, as the doors close, like someone walking down the hall on the breakfast pastries made yesterday No elevator, had to bear a heavy suitcase on the 2nd and 3rd floors

It is very well located quite close to the Saint Lucia train station and to the Grand Canal. The personal in the front desk was attentive. All of them speak several languages, so communication is not an issue.

Great service, great location, church bells only added to the charm! Only thing....... I would advise future visitors is regarding the bath/ shower.......it was difficult for my elderly Mother, to have a shower over the bath with a shower head which you need to hold....was not ideal for her age group. She struggled with this but it was my only issue with the stay.

Location was second to none - right next to the main rail station and 10 minutes from the airport buses and yet a very quiet and relaxing location. All in all a lovely little hotel with a stunning lounge/bar area. We unfortunately were next to the kitchen so did not enjoy the constant smell of food and sadly the people above us seemed to be dancing about in clogs and pacing their room constantly but it was only for one night and Im sure we could have been moved, had we been bothered to ask.

My wife and I are carefull travellers as we have to stretch our Rand to the fullest extend. Hotel Abbazia is sure value for money, clean, oozes character, frienly staff and location location. The breakfast is the best I have experienced yet. My next trip to Venice will most certainly be Hotel Abbazia, perhaps just for a visit to the hotel again.

Courtesy and efficiency of staff. Cleanliness was superb. Clean linen sheets every day as well as clean bath towels. Very good location just off the main street so very quiet. Close to shops, restaurants, vaporetto boats and station. Warm, comfortable room. Lackk of facilities to be able to check in on line. Ie being able to use a computer provided by the hotel for guests. However, staff did provide wi fi connection for mobile phone or 24 hours for a cost of 1 euro. Brilliant value.
