Score from 1287 reviews Excellent
Just 500 ft from Bologna Train Station, this designer hotel is next to the gardens of Parco della Montagnola. It has ultra-modern rooms with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 1171 reviews Good
The Hotel Aemilia is 15 minutes by foot from the center of Bologna and it's famous towers.
Score from 1347 reviews Excellent
This hotel features a gym and restaurant, all just a few metres from the Bologna Exhibition Centre. Bologna AV Station is 2 km away.
Score from 182 reviews Very good
Funcionality, design and friendly staff.
Charge for WiFi in the rooms.
- cleaniness - modern and mostly in a good condition - close to both the Central Station and the airport (about 20 euro taxi fare)
- issues with their water heating (it kept alternating between cold and hot, no matter the faucet's setting), which seemed to apply to other rooms, as well. - climate control unit seemed as not working properly (either it was an oversensitive thermostat or it had some issues as a short circuit) and I had to turn it off completely. Luckily, the room was warm enough, despite outside temperature. - wifi internet should be free, nowadays, especially in a 4-star hotel.
I hate paying for Wifi separately. This is 21st century..make it free or put into room rate and make it as "Free"
Staff very helpful and friendly
No free in-room Wi-Fi (most four star hotels do not charge extra for this) Iron and ironing board are only available upon request for a short period of time (1 to 2 hours0 and then must be returned to reception.
It's a clean, modern and very comfortable four star hotel. Breakfast buffet is excellent, with options ranging from fruit, yoghurt, scrambled egg, sausages, bread and to a variety of pastries and cakes. Staff are very friendly, both at the front desk and in the restaurant. The double room I stayed in was spotless and larger than I expected. In the reception area there's even a small shop where items such as toothpaste or snacks can be bought. Even though the hotel is located outside Bologna's city centre, you can reach the central railway station by foot in about 10 minutes. Alternatively, bus 21 stops right in front of the hotel (with frequent services; about every 8-10 minutes during peak times and every 20 minutes on Sunday) and brings you to the station or the western edge of the old town at Piazza Malpighi. Single tickets are €1,50 if bought on board (have the exact fare ready) and can be used for the next 75 minutes after purchase.
WiFi in the room is only available for a fee
Good location to the city center or to the fair Supermarket neer Nice room Staff helpfully
Front entrance looks poor Mirrors in room bad location
Every thing is good
Clean and affordable, nice food!
The staff was really fast in correcting some misunderstandings and did its best to assist in all matters. The rooms are spotless and quiet, the breakfast great, and the hotel is a stone's throw to the Old City. Not bad for a chain hotel!
Rooms are not equipped with coffee/tea facilities, neither with a safe and there is only one TV channel in English, unfortunately the BBC. The Internet in the room is not cheap!
Hotel was clean and close to centre of town. Girl working in bar very friendly and helpful for advice on where to go in city.
WiFi an extra charge for the rooms! Ridiculous and very annoying.
Facility is great for the money. Nice view from the roof. Close to central train.
False advertisement for free wifi. (free in the lobby), and airport shuttle. Not free and only available at certain hours. some staff not helpful. couldn't print a boarding. Apparently there are no printers in the entire facility.
Pretty much everything
Luck of swimming pool
location, staff, breakfast , room size
wi-fi signal not very good inside the rooms
Luxurious, well equipped and clean room. Helpful staff and good pastries at breakfast. There was a great small pizzeria and a supermarket around the corner.
WiFi access in room was an extra 12 Euros for 48 hours. Lobby bathroom was in the basement. It was in a nice neighborhood, but a bit far from the town center, about 30 minutes on foot, but had to go over the train station which was a bit depressing.
nice and clean room, quite near to the city centre (walking distance) good breakfast and lunch
receptionist answering first the phone instead than the client in fornt of them indefined smell at the entrance in the hall
High luxury room and terrific value for money!
No free parking
The room was clean and the hotel was quiet.
Staff were not very friendly or helpful. No tea and coffee facilities in the room. Everything seemed to be an effort to them.
The location is close to the Bologna exhibition centre.
No wifi in the room.
Clean rooms, good breakfast
Location long way from city centre, no wifi included in room, double bed request not given
Very comfortable room. Helpful reception staff
Substantial noise from hallway could be heard in the room. Restaurant food was expensive
The stuff including the receptionists, waiters and barman were very kind and helpful.
Apart from some little problems like the missing bulb from the reading lamp, the rugged and wrinkled towel and only one chair in the room, we realized at our returning home that they withdrew the price of one night from my credit card before our arrival, and we paid the total bill on our departure. However they replied to our letter of complaint at once ( we don't know what the end of the story will be). Generally speaking we expected a certain standard of the name Marriott but it didn' come true.
The hotel is excellent value for money, with clean rooms, helpful staff at reception and 24 hrs gym including turkish bath facility on the top floor. Breakfast is acceptable (you need to consider this is Italy). Bus stop is very close which will take you to the railway station, or to the city centre for 1,5 EUR. Also you can walk to downtown which will take a good 25 minutes. The neighbourhood is avarage, I would not call it dodgy. I walked almost every night back to the hotel alone at late hours without being afraid. Taxi to/from airport costs 15-20 EUR.
The only thing I can mention is that during my 4 nights stay I ran out of the complimentary bath gel, which is usually replaced each day. The cleaning lady refused to replace it for me, and even when I asked for replacement from the receptionist who then called the cleaning staff nothing has happened. This was on the very last night so this was not that big issue, but still I would not expect this to happen in a 4 star Marriott hotel.
Hotel was modern, clean and perfect for a one night stay in Bologna. There was also parking available at the hotel free of charge.
Hotel was slightly out of the centre of town but we knew that when we booked and didn't mind the 20 minute walk.
Stayed there for the Bologna Book Fair and the location was perfect: 15 minutes walk to the fair and still not too far from the centre of Bologna. -Room was nice, spacious, and clean. -Breakfast was nice and had a good variety. -Staff spoke English and was helpful.
-Internet in the room wasn't included and required an additional payment. -Breakfast coffee was cold every morning, even at 7am when breakfast started.
