With a large rooftop terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Domus Mariae Albergo is right on Siracusa's seafront.
Score from 378 reviews Wonderful
Located in Ortigia Island just 100 metres from the sea and from a free sun terrace, Mastrarua Hotel offers minimalist-style rooms with air conditioning. Siracusa’s Cathedral is a 10-minute walk away.
Score from 301 reviews Good
Domus Mariae has a fantastic location on the island of Ortigia, in the heart of Syracuse. The rooftop terrace offers a beautiful sea view. There is a luxury spa center on site.

Located on the island of Ortigia, Syracuse’s historic centre, Appartamenti Ortigia Centro is a 5-minute walk from Piazza Archimede.
Score from 32 reviews Wonderful
The room was nice, with new furnishing and great wifi. Outstanding location in the center of Ortygia. Possibility to have a glass of wine on the rooftop terasse. Really good value for money.
The check-in takes place at a hotel nearby and there is no parking, but the hotel offers a free parking place nearby, so it was not that bad... The window faced an inside courtyard which had some construction material still within, but it was not noisy.
No desk to register. Registration was in another hotel. This done at midnight was quite an experience. Broken shower... no view from the window...
This was a really excellent place to stay in Ortigia. I would definitely consider staying here again and can highly recommend. Great, central location. Very large, bright, quiet comfortable room. Small balcony overlooking pedestrian street. Excellent shower! Good aircon. Pretty good breakfast Nice lounges and open-air terraces to sit and eat in. Very friendly and helpful staff. Really excellent value for the price and location. I was very happy with my stay here.
There were a number of minor things that might make me consider somewhere else next time. - There is no 24 hour reception in hotel. A lot of time, there is no on-site staff. You have to check in at another hotel (Hotel Livingston), five minutes walk away. - Also, breakfast, while included, is not served in hotel. You have to go to a bar on square nearby. Breakfast was fine and it was lovely sitting in main square. Staff were not friendly though. - Poor, often very poor, wifi in room. Worked fine in common areas.
The hotel Acropoli is located in a perfect position, just few steps to the Duomo and in the very city center. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, they allowed us to park our 3 cars next to the reception for free, so that we were not dependent on the garage opening timings (it was Sunday). The rooms were nice, spacious, quiet and clean. I definitively suggest to stay there to visit Siracusa and the neighbourhood.
It was a bit annoying that the check-in was in another location (anyway, at less than 5 minutes walking to the Acropoli). The breakfast was at a close cafe, there the personal was not always kind.
We had booked in advance and walked from the station at Syracuse (which is well sign-posted) and this gave us the chance to see the old town first. We arrived at the Hotel Livingston to check in where the lady on reception was extremely helpful and her English was excellent. She gave us a map and explained everything in detail, including our breakfast arrangements for the following morning. Her colleague very helpfully walked us to the B&B, carrying my bag, too and showed us to our room. The room was lovely - more than big enough and very comfortable with easy to operate air conditioning and an immaculate bathroom (the Italians really do have a knack for bathrooms) although in this instance, the shower was a bit of intrigue - one of those sit-in shower/horizontal water jet arrangements - much hilarity ensued as we tried to work out how best to use it !). We wandered around town in the evening and caught the sun set as it lit up the walls of the Duomo, eating later at Il Cenacolo (reviewed separately). Breakfast the following morning was at a nearby café in the adjacent Piazza Archimede - which was a nice change, actually, from hotel dining rooms - we got to see the town start to come alive. All in all, a wonderful overnight stay in a lovely part of Sicily. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Great bathroom facilities, amazing location and great value for money with breakfast.
No room numbers on the room which made it difficult to find the room but fun
Perfect location Clean Comfortable Modern bathroom Quiet
No view from the room
This establishment is very well placed, just in the center of Ortigia isle. It’s an old building and the room have old furniture, but comfortable. The staff was also very friendly. The breakfast is a beverage and a cake in a coffee close to the bed and breakfast, it was the only weak point of our stay.
The location. Staff very helpful, when it came to parking the Van we were travelling in. They move their own car yo make space for yours.
No Wifi in the room.
Great location, quite large room with the balcony, good that there was a kitchen, however nobody told us that, therefore we found out about it a bit too late. Cozy and nice enough. As while booking the hotel there was enough information that the reception would be in another hotel, it made no inconvenience.
We book a garage, and they broke the car for the last night, nobody took the responsibility though and blamed on us that this was our damage. We had an insurance, however the experience was ruined. Breakfast was a bit too small - coffee and a roll, though very tasty.
we were mostly satisfied of the room that was on the top floor with a terrace.
Firstly, mold smell whdn opening the room's door and that when getting breakfast in the bar - we could not clearly understand what we can eat as nobody spoke English.
The jacuzzi shower was excellent
Very helpfull cleaninglady Teresa !
Very noisy in the street at night
Perfect location, good price
The water in bathroom was not warm enough to take a comfortable shower. Outside was 30 degreea so it was ok and we took it as a fun.
A nice place to use to see the Acropoli and nearby towns. Easy to find from AutoStrada. Host was kind and attentive. We'd stay there again.
location excellent in old town.
As we had a hire car we reserved a car park spot for 2 days in the undercover garage arranged by the hotel. The garage is closed on Sundays and we did not need the car that day. On collecting the car on Monday morning we suspected that someone connected with the garage had taken it out for the day on the Sunday - petrol had been used and the mileage was up, also the front passenger seat had been put in reclining position and there were dirty feet marks on the dash board. If our suspicions were correct I feel the hotel should be made aware of this.
Nice furniture and good position of the hostel.
They sell something on the internet , but it is a totally different thing when you arrive. The building is abbandoned, no reception , no SEAVIEW....the worst experience of my travelling memories
very central located.
very good, quiet location in the main pedestrian street, clean spacious room. it was written about the reception in another hotel, so we went there first, no problem.
