The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was good value. The hotel was located very close to the railway station and 5-10 minutes walk to the center. The wi-fi connection was not functioning all the time.

The hotel is lovely and the staff is very service oriented. Lisa was very polite and knew just who to call when I lost a concert receipt that I needed to get into the concert! She also recommended two fantastic tratorias - be sure to check with the front desk about restaurants Truly, the staff clearly understands that travelers get confused and need help - and they provide provide it with no judgments made. Breakfast was very good and had lots of choices. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms very modern. Easy walking from the train station and close enough to the tourist attractions that we were able to walk everywhere. I would go back. A slightly softer pillow would have been appreciated.

Hotel staff were quite friendly and helpful. Close enough to the train station that you can walk with bags, and also not too far from the Duomo. The room was quite large, and well cleaned. We arrived 2 hours before check-in and were told to return two hours later. We had no problem with this, but when we returned two hours later, our room was still not ready - we waited a further 30 minutes in the lobby, which was very poor form.

Location: walking distance to all important sights in Florence: David Accadamia, Duomo, train station, Uffizi, Arno River. Instructions to drive to the hotel are not clear. The one-way street and absence of a car porch made it difficult to access the hotel.

This hotel is very close to the train station which is terrific when traveling to different Italian cities. The outside does not do the hotel justice. The interior is beautiful with all the comforts one would expect in a hotel. The towels were especially soft. We stayed there with friends for two nights in June. We easily walked to all the attractions. The market is very close as well as some great restaurants. I would definitely recommend this hotel. If you are hesitating about staying there, don't bother, you will be very pleased!! Everything was great!

Very friendly staff who also spoke excellent English. Perfect location for both walking into town (10 mins) and going off on the train / bus to Pisa, Lucca, Siena, etc (literally 2 mins round the corner, also handy when dragging suitcases to/from the airport). Breakfast was fine though nothing spectacular. WiFi available. Really nice room with good sound-proofing on the street side. Another reviewer on here said "just go ahead and book that room!" and we can only say the same! Great hotel. Very little we can put here. The only thing we missed were tea and coffee facilities in the room.

Close to the city center, Classic medievil style building, bath, breakfast hotel was behind the central railway station and there are way nicer places in Florence to stay at rather than behind the rail station. Based on that, the price/value is quite high

We booked a superior room thinking we'd get a terrace which was the main reason we booked it but instead got a jacuzzi. Not the same really. The bathroom was mouldy. Also, very difficult to get to by car. The room was the most expensive on our driving holiday and the least special. The porter that showed us up from the garage and then to the room didn't help at all with the luggage even though we were overloaded with it. Breakfast is only rolls, pastries and jam, all other items are charged for. We only stayed one night and arrived late afternoon, therefore there was no use in complaining about it but maybe this will help other people.

This was an older hotel with lots of charm and character--just what I wanted for a stay in Florence! My room was very clean and pleasant. Everything was exactly as shown on the booking site. But most of all, the staff was extremely welcoming and very helpful. Breakfasts offered a variety of items and the coffee was great! The location was also very good--close to the train station (SNM) and within walking distance to all major sights. If I am fortunate enough to visit Florence again in the future, I would definitely stay here -- no need to look for anything else.

The hotel is nice and comfortable. Its location is good: it's a few steps from Santa Maria N. station, near the centre of Florence but as it stands not far from the railway station the street the hotel is located in is crowded with people. The room was worth the money we paid for it. But it's actually dark in the room (the lamps should be brighter) and not warm enough. We asked the receptionist to increase temperature in our room and only after that we felt comfortable. One more shortcoming is that we always "enjoyed" the cleaning lady's staff (linen to change, bath supplies etc) on the way to|from the room in the morning and at lunchtime. On the whole the hotel can be recommended to other people - friendly and helpful staff, rather good breakfast, quiet room (ours was really quiet).

Excellent old/classic style hotel! Higly professional staff that helped us a lot with our lost luggage. Housekeeing changed bedclothes every sigle day! Good breakfasts. Bathroom amenities of good quality. Very nice furniture. 5 min. Walk from the Duomo and shops, 10 min. Walk from the Uffizi gallery, Santa Maria Novella train station is just around the corner. Safe box is free of charge. We'll definitely come back to this hotel in the future!

Convenient location (5min from Firenze S.M.N. train station). Staff was friendly and helpful. Great breakfast buffet! The bed and pillows were quite hard and the shower had hardly any water pressure. Our overall experience of the hotel wasn't bad but it is definitely overpriced for what you get.

Very classy place at a reasonable price, great breakfast, location is very convenient to the train station and bus stations, as well as other tourist spots in Florence. The rooms are well-appointed and the staff knowledgeable. I wound up extending my stay for a total of seven days--never disappointed.

Price we got was excellent and considering price vs. Hotel quality, definitelly worth the money. Hotel was quiet, practically no noise from other rooms nor from the street though our room was on first floor towards the street, breakfast was available with good selection, friendly staff with excellent English. We arrived in the evening by train and left in the afternoon by train, therefore 200m from trainstation was excellent location to us. Though location next to train station was very good for our purpose, it was a bit far away from key sightseeing and shopping sites. Also area looked a bit unsafe first. Only issue related to room itself was that bed was a bit too hard for our taste and would have been nice to have some drawer for extra clothes.
