We had some great days here. The village is like a couple of hundred centuries ago - all just very old historical buildings. Antica Dimora dell'Ortolano is the house of the former vegetable and fruit trader. The appartment is using both the ground and the first floor. Nice interieur. The ground floor is equipped with a small kitchen (2 electrical hot plates, a big fridge and all cooking utensils needed). On the backside of the building Elena - the owner - runs a small bar which is opened from 5pm to around 9pm each day despite Thursday. Very friendly atmosphere there. All in all we had a pleasant vacation.
The only things to be improved are the water pressure, especially in the shower, and the noise of the hot water boiler which is unfortunately heating up over night and cannot be switched off or adjusted to heat up at non-sleeping times by the guests themselves.
2 very nicely and tastefully renovated ancient stone houses within the walls of an old castle. Partial view of a small lake. Very large rooms (downstairs living room, kitchenette & upstairs bedroom with bathroom under the roof). Very clean.
No balcony, no garden, no terrace to sit or relax outside. Note: very noisy at night! In a little village/castle so far out in the countryside, you would expect some peace and silence. Well while the 2 stone houses are mezzanine and top floor level the owners operate a bar/restaurant on the ground floor level. Big bbq night with large crowd on Friday night till 2 A.M. and even bigger wedding party in the castle next door on Sat night till 3 A.M. Zero pre-warning or understanding by the owner! Also: no air-conditioning, roof is heating up like an oven in summer. So you got the choice: big noise and/or big heat.
