Nothing not to like
The Agora Residenza is in a cool traffic free little streets a few steps from the heart of Mantova leading on to a plazza, with two other plazzas, one each side including the main Ducale
I had a double room, great bathroom with shower,a pleasant lounge with a sofa, which also had an unit which, when the doors were opened, turned our to be a kitchen with fridge, plates etc, saucepans, cutlery sinc and 4 electric burners, It is really having your own very self-contained flat.
The pictures show the place well. The furniture is modern, Ikea mainly, and the place is kept spotlessly clean. As I was staying 5 days, Cristina did not charge extra for the use of the kitchen.
I enjoyed both the eating out and eating in.
Cristina is great, hard working and fun. She marked out a map of the centre showing the local supermarket around the corner which has wonderful fresh produce as well as everything else . Continental breakfast is in a little cafe within the Colonades so you can enjoy two 2 pastries (one sweet and one savoury or "salt" as they are called locally) and your choice of fresh coffee. The cafe opens early, 7 ,, so you can enjoy the cool of the day before it gets too hot. It also means you have room for lunch, and not stuffed full as I end up at a big hotel's buffet which I find hard to resist, and probably eat my day,s worth of calories then.
Having your own apartment also meant I could have siestas in the afternoon after lunch and be fresh for the evenings. She also gave good information of places to eat ( generally avoid the touristy overprices places on the main squares,)
Cristina booked my shuttle bus ticket to Verona airport on my return home and my boarding card on her computer. That saves queues at the airport. I happen to have had the shuttle bus to myself: for only 5 euros!
There is a tourist information centre at the end of the row of shops, and the girl there was very helpful.
