눉Other than the old house, there was nothing farm like or very rural (on a busy road) about the place. The staff/hosts were not comfortable enough in English to explain anything about the history or function of the place, or nearby sites or restaurants and made no effort to do so (rare for Italians who are usually irrepressible even with limited English).
The host and staff are trying to be hospitable and friendly and really tried to make me happy. However, the staff on duty when I arrived did the absolute minimum to welcome me.
The breakfast consisted of processed packaged food from a big grocery store -- the same stale baked goods and pastry every day. Coffee was great though.
눇My first room was not great (as single rooms are often inferior), but the owner moved me to a much better room for the second 2 days. In the first room the bathroom light and fan (very loud) were on a motion detector and turned themselves off when I was in the shower. Lots of flying bugs in the room (no screens), some of which were mosquitoes, I think due to the dampness in the bathroom (that fan turned itself off after a few minutes). But the second room and bathroom were very nice.
The location was a short drive from the city of Viterbo, where parking was easy to find. The hotel was not hard to find on a main road, although the signage was poor.
The adjoining restaurant was excellent, and I ate there 3 nights. The staff there really took care of me.
