Everything was perfect, there is nothing to complain about. We should have stayed longer!
I have found Rudy's Agriturismo by chance through some online research. We had been to the Cinque Terre region before, but only for daytrips out of Tuscany. This time, we wanted to spend more time there as there is so much to do and see. We narrowed the location for our hub down to the little town of Levanto, which is the perfect place to venture out and visit the villages of Cinque Terre.
Levanto offers a bunch of nice restaurants, stores, friendly people, and a wonderful beach. Even without being a hub to the tourist magnet that Cinque Terre is, it would be a great vacation destination. Levanto's train station is just one stop from Monterosso, the first of the Cinque Terre villages, but you can also use the ferry to go to the villages.
La Collina Verde is wonderfully located in the hills surrounding Levanto. We had no problem finding the place because Rudy gave us great instructions on how to find it (don't rely on your GPS), but if you pay attention, there are signs when you come into Levanto that will guide you to La Collina Verde. There is parking on site. It is peaceful, quiet, and so relaxing up there (by the way, this is not a crazy steep hill, it is very manageable!!!), yet only a five minute walk from the train station and maybe 15 to 20 minutes from the beach/town center. We just left our car parked for the four nights we stayed there and walked everywhere. The rooms, as mentioned by others, are quite roomy and superclean (!). Rudy is a great host, always smiling, he'll go out of his way to accommodate you, the homemade breakfast is wonderful!!! The jams are a delight and you'll be surprised by how many different recipes are used. My son really enjoyed the pool that Rudy set up. Also, Wi-Fi worked perfectly fine for us.
We really enjoyed our stay at La Collina Verde, the location and the host really make this place so very special and we'll definitely come back!
