Agriturismo Poggio della Volara

We strongly recommend this Agriturismo. The location is fantastic, high on a hillside overlooking a valley and surrounding hills. Quiet and peaceful. The only sound is the wooshing of swallows. We came to Poggio de Volara one afternoon and were very dearly welcomed by the friendly owners. Then we spent an afternoon in and by the pool and it was absolutely wonderful. When evening came, we sat down at a beautifully set table and had the most delicious meal of our entire 2 week trip in Italy. Everything on the plate was grown on the farm and everything was really good. We will be back!

It’s difficult to describe what an amazing vacation we had at "Poggio della Volara" because of countless enjoyable moments we had experienced there. From peaceful and magnificent surroundings - laying by the pool and enjoying beautiful garden nurtured by the hostess herself to watching the full moon hide slowly over the hills while you eat your heavenly meals (cuisine is rated by “Michelin”! Still can’t forget that cooked Boar). From their animals (two fantastic dogs, chicken, rabbits, geese) that are all basically hand fed (by you if you fancy that) to trips to nearby cities (each one different, each one interesting). We were particularly amazed by host’s attention to detail - you feel really welcome from the second you step in. You’ll always find a freshly picked rose on your breakfast table and a smiling face. Next year? Pretty much a no-brainer - back to Poggio!

I saw a spider in my room and I'm afraid of them (like any proper person should be). But it was nothing that a good slipper beating couldn't fix. Otherwise everything was heaven-like!

This agriturismo is an absolute gem! We had never stayed at one before, and now the bar has been set really high! It is run by the sweetest couple, Marco and Giava, and sits right in the heart of the most beautiful Italian countryside. My pictures are gorgeous! Marco and Giava make their own wine, olive oil, jam, etc. We spent more money buying their incredible products than we did on staying in the room. Ha! (This does not mean their products are expensive, rather, that they are so great we wanted a bunch of them!) The dinner and breakfast they cooked for us were both SO good and they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. While I was there I was battling a head cold and Giava heard me coughing.. She promptly made me tea, milk and honey, and brought me medicine! She and her husband are both wonderful. We will definitely be visiting again, soon!

Der Agriturismo ist sehr ruhig gelegen, mit wunderbarem weitem Blick auf das obere Tibertal - ein Paradies! Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich und erfüllen nach Kräften alle Wünsche der Gäste. Gaiva ist eine vorzügliche Köchin; in den zwölf Tagen haben wir bei acht viergängigen Abendessen keine Wiederholung erlebt, verwendet werden fast ausschließlich Produkte aus der eigenen Landwirtschaft und Jagd. Der Preis für das Abendessen ist angemessen. Die gesamte Anlage mit den beiden Häusern ist liebevoll gestaltet, mit Blumen , Zitronenbäumen etc. Das Schwimmbad ist sehr gepflegt. Wir haben uns in Poggio della Volara äußerst wohl gefühlt!

Grazie mille a Marco e sua moglie per una vacanza indimenticabile a Poggio della olara! Un posto spettacolare,perfetto per passare il tempo lontano dal rumore della città,per riempire gli occhi della bellezza della natura che ti circonda,per visitare piccoli bellissimi paesini,per conoscere I vini locali ed un olio extravergine superlativo,del cibo freschissimo e delizioso! Un posto molto confortevole per le famiglie con I bambini,sicuro,lontano dalle strade ,con un grande giardino molto curato, con piccoli animali che giocano con I bambini.Siamo stati coperti di mille attenzioni da parte dei titolari di questo agriturismo anche quando avevamo problemi alla nostra macchina e loro si sono gentilmente adoperati per risolverli. Grazie tanto ancora per la vostra ospitabilita e generosita! Un posto meraviglioso,un paradiso,......peccato che alcuni francesi non sono riusciti a capire tutto questo........ :) Ci vediamo presto!

schoene Aussicht auf das Umland.

wir waren sehr enttaeuscht. Die Bestzer sehr unfreundlich. Aus dem Wasserhahn floss nur kaltes,braunes Wasser. Die Kueche nicht schlecht, jedoch aus einfachsten Zutaten nichts Landestypisches. Keine Wahlmoeglichkeit. Dies zu unglaublich ueberhoehten Preisen. Ausserdem mussten wir bei Weihnachtsmusik essen Anfang September.Wir wollten beim abschied Olivenoel mitnehmen, jedoch bei 15 Euro der Liter verschlug es mir die Sprache.Schade, dass dieser Agrarbauernhof so schlecht gefuehrt wird.

Davvero niente da eccepire!

Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst, perfecte lokatie met grandioos uitzicht. Diner en ontbijt zeer goed verzorgd. Perfecte gastvrijheid. De beste die we in drie weken rondtoeren gevonden hebben. Na 2 dagen elders weer terug om hier nog 2 dagen te blijven. Het diner was het meest romantische dat we ons is overkomen deze vakantie.

Estrema simpatia dei proprietari, ottima accoglienza, posizione eccellente con viste bellissime sia di giorno che di sera. Cene(su prenotazione) ricche e ben presentate con la cura personalizzata dei gestori Location molto comoda x tour verso Orvieto e Todi e/o altre località molto piacevoli (Bevagna,lago Bolsena etc etc)

Hard to say what was best, possibly the great hospitality of Gavia and Marco, the owners, but also the great position and the delicious food, really the best we had during our stay in the area. Also the view is pretty amazing, much better than what pictures show

Possibly the decor could be a little more trandy, however both the appartments and the communal areas are well furnished and very clean, they simply could do with a touch of modernity, but that is personal preference more than a real downside

Amazing place! The owners are the loveliest and most helpful people I have met in a long time! They saved us from being late to both a wedding and a train. Rooms are nice and the pool and views are great. Really reccomend this place for families

Un superbe panorama et une piscine

C'est loin de tout donc on doit manger sur place et c'est assez cher. Même notre petit de 3 ans a payé le prix d'un repas adulte! Je dois dire que nous n'avons pas apprecié! Le rapport qualité/prix est au total très médiocre et nous avons logé dans d'autres agroturismo dans la région beaucoup mieux aménagés pour le même prix. Even children have to pay full price for the expensive dinner!
