Stayed in one of the apartments. We chose this option as travelling with a 9yr old and because it had the kitchen which worked perfectly. Loved the wine tour/tasting and dinner was superb on the terrace overlooking the city. Easy access to Verona by bus (3 min walk from San Mattia) or can drive to free car park (5 min walk to old Verona)
Only the hotel rooms have views of Verona from their patios (apartments face the other way - views are only from the bedroom).
Very authentic, wonderful food, and convenient location.
A fantastic place to stay!! Staff extremely helpful and friendly, great setting over looking the olive groves and the city. Plenty of parking available. Great restaurant on site offering a set menu. Wine tasting and tour of family vineyard was great, something a little different and very informative. Already planning my return stay!!!
The view from the terrace is breath-taking: whole Verona is under your feet. And this you can enjoy while sipping a galss of sparkling rose (own vinery) with some olives..
The view from the Terrace is awesome.
One of the most interesting hotels i have ever been. The view from the restaurant is stunning. It is like a great place for a romantic gateway. I would love to come back there and spend couple of days not only one.
The view of Verona is amasing.
Great location with a panorama of Verona visible from outside our room and from the terrazzo where we dined; young, friendly, helpful staff; wonderful food and wine; clean, spacious, and comfortable room. The wine tasting with Silvia is a must.
The wonderful view, friendly staff and value for money.
The room was perfect!
Dinner is too expensive for its quality, we have eaten the same kind of food in other places in italy for les money.
Everything! The staff, the incredible view, greatbreakfast...
Very friendly staff, fantastic location away from the city yet so close to the centre. truly unique.
San Mattia is amazing and I will definitely return. The location is up in the hills, looking down on Verona. Just incredible. I had a car so it was a breeze to zip the 3km down to the free parking, then walk across the bridge into the old town. The staff are all fantastic, friendly and helpful....including the four legged members of the crew!! The wine tour was informative and great fun, a must do while there as is having dinner. So yummy!
The rooms appear to be almost new but we were told they are several years old. The staff were extremely helpful and all went out of their way to ensure we had a good experience
The evening meal was disappointing
Very nice location with a superb view on Verona, surrounded by the vineyard. Very relaxibg, calm. Friendly people, much more familiar than in a hotel. The wine tasting and tour on the property is for sure a plus. We had a wonderful time here.
Without a car I assume it would be a bit too far from the centre of Verona.
The view. The place is beautiful and the windows are big.
the guide visitwas made in a hurry.
Nice view on Verona; secured parking place; very friendly and warm welcome, multi language team members; bus stop next to the entrance; selfmade confiture was excellent Please note: our sat nav tried to send us through some narrow streets, be sure to stay on the main road to San Mattia
Maisonette-Appartement was a bit old fashioned, sometimes without enough hot water for the shower; the other appartements seemed to be more modern (also with a nice view on Verona from their private terrace)
Location above Verona wonderful. Meal option great for dinner after being out all day. Enjoyed tour of vineyard & wine tasting. Great location to do day trips to Valpolicella wineries & Lake Garda. Short drive to free parking at bottom of hill outside old Verona city centre. Very helpful staff
Wifi not good even after fixed. If didn't use for few minutes it would log out & had to sign in again. Stayed in newly outfitted self contained torreta. Large space but kitchen dark, only one tiny mirror above bathroom sink, tiny shower meant impossible to move much without hitting regulator or shower head. Given numbers of rooms etc & location should be washing facilities for guests. No iron or board in room or easily available
The location, servic
The breakfast does not have fresh bread, maybe it is a cultural thing.
Excellent room, good food, wonderfull staff Fantastic views.Good wine at very good prices. Hard to fault this place.
Lack of comfortable seating on the terrace, no meals on Tuesday and Wednesday and if your staying a week - no change of towels.
Good location, lovely views over Verona. Good breakfast in the morning. Very nice staff. Air conditioning in each of the bedrooms.
The house was a little dated and the downstairs bathroom had an electrical cover missing exposing electrical cables and connections which was concerning with young children.
There are fantastic views over Verona especially from restaurant. We arrived late but very able to get a lovely platter of cheese, hams and a salad. Delicious breakfast with plenty of home produce and very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was very spacious and clean. The bus stop was minutes away which took us to Verona very quickly. Dinner was fabulous - we had a set meal with 4 courses followed by dessert and coffee all accompanied by their own wines.
Having to leave!!
Wonderful staff, beautiful views, excellent wine, sparkling white and out standing food.
Amazing place to catch your breath and relax. Dinner was amazing and just kept coming! My wife and I took the evening special that could have fed an army! Course after course kept coming and we thought we'd have to pay a fortune. But, all said and done it was very reasonable and the food was incredible! The room was perfect with an amazing view of Verano. Highly recommend this place for good food, romantic setting or with kids!
Nothing to say here.
lovely views of Verona friendly nice staff lovely food and wine wine-tour was added bonus
our non-smoking room smelt very much of smoke
