B&B Ai Cipressi is located just outside Lucca's medieval walls, 380 yards from the center of town. There is free Wi-Fi, free parking and staff have great local knowledge. Rooms are brightly decorated and feature 1950s pictures and posters. They are equipped with air conditioning and satellite TV, and a spacious private bathroom. Breakfast is served in the sunny dining room, and there is also a contemporary lounge area with large-screen TV and sofas. Guests are offered a range of massage treatments including anti-stress and traditional Thai massage. Ai Cipressi is a 15-minute walk from the Guinigi Tower, or you can rent bikes on site in order to explore the city. The owners are available to recommend restaurants and the best places to visit. We had an excellent 3-night stay at the Ai Cipressi. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, spoke excellent English, and provided us with a map of Lucca when we booked in and marked out places of interest. Our room was modern, large and very comfortable with a lovely bathroom and the breakfast provided was the best out of the 5 places we stayed in whilst travelling around Tuscany. Location was good, just an 8 min walk to one of the main gates into Lucca and only a 15 min walk to the Railway Station. You can rent cycles directly from them if you wish. Would happily stay here again if we ever return to Lucca.

Having bicycles to rent on the premises and free parking. Staff very helpful and friendly. Floor (tile) and throw rug were not very clean. Bath and beds were fine.

Excellent service. Good information about what to see and do, places to visit, how to get there etc. This is not only a b&b, it is also a tourist information. We have stayed there before and will stay there again. If you are thinking of visiting Lucca, we recommend this highly.

An hotel with the personal touch. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Good continental style breakfast in a bright breakfast room. Reminded me of motel-styled accommodation with rooms off a common veranda. Tables and chairs were provided outside for the use of guests on the warm days and balmy nights. Room clean, functional and had everything we needed. Location outside the old city walls at Porta Elisa, approximately 500 yards from the old town. Can recommend and we will return.

Gabriele and staff were the highlight of this B&B. I felt completely taken care of by Gabriele the moment we arrived. He is so friendly and helpful. He gave us great suggestions for places to go in the walled city of Lucca as well as for day trips within an hour or so. He made us feel welcome and comfortable. Another woman (didn't catch her name!!) was also wonderful. She took her time talking to me about local events and customs. Basic, comfortable, clean room. Lovely breakfast. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

It was close to the walled city. I could park my car. The room was very clean and comfortable with a good WIFI. The manager and owner were helpful and the the breakfast was great.

Excellant four nights spent here. The hotel hire bikes for 7 euro per day. We had them for 3 days. its a great way to explore Lucca which is traffic free and flat. I would recommend this hotel and Lucca.

Owners who are brothers make you feel right at home. They were welcoming and very helpful with touring and restaurant recommendations ... Trattoria Gigi was fantastic! Family room was spacious and modern decorations with decent air conditioning for Italian standards. Breakfast was well done and location just outside the old city center wall made for easy walking tours and wonderful morning run atop the city wall. We rented bikes and had a blast atop the wall! Free parking onsite and overflow spots 100 yards away in church parking lot.

The staff was very friendly, and made good suggestions for touring the area in addtion to the city of Lucca. Well located outside the wall. Like other parts of Italy we visited, the a/c could not cool the room during the heat of June and once we did get it comfortable, the cleaning staff would turn it off and open the windows during the day.

This is how a B&B should be run... after spending one night, and then returning later in the week for two further nights, we were very impressed by Ai Cipressi. From the welcome by Gabriel, the large clean comfortable room and excellent breakfast, everything was just great - and good value too. Gabriel was so helpful, and happy and willing to provide information on anything; he and his brother clearly love their job and are a mine of information on Lucca and its surroundings. A big bonus too is the secure parking off road. The location is very good, just outside the old city walls, and you can take a leisurely walk into the very centre of Lucca in less than 10 minutes. I have no hesitation in recommending this B&B, and would certainly book to stay again when I return to Tuscany. Graham

Simple, very pleasant, realistically priced accomodation in an excellent location very close to the walls of Lucca. Nice relaxed, laid back atmosphere which is probably why all the guests were nice and friendly too.

I have never been to a lodging where the greeting was so friendly and informative-Gabrielle took us into his office and sat us down and gave us a map tour of Lucca for 15 minutes. He carried my luggage upstairs and would not let me do anything- Location to Centro Lucca was excellent and everythign was within walking distance

L'hotel è in posizione privilegiata per accedere alla città, usufruendo anche del servizio di noleggio bicicletta comodissimo. Il personale offre anche troppe informazioni sugli spostamenti , sui ristoranti, su ciò che si può fare in città e anche muoversi nei dintorni. Camera pulita e comoda, colazione ottima, con macchina per il caffè senza limiti!!!!! Il massimo per me che amo il caffè. Noi lo consigliamo senza riserve.

Ottima l'accoglienza da parte del personale, ottima la posizione strategica a due passi da Lucca e con vicino buoni punti di ristoro. Trovata scarsa igiene sia della camera sia della zona buffet per la colazione.

We hadden een aangenaam verblijf in een heel ruime, verzorgde kamer. Het ontbijt was ok maar de keuze van beleg was erg beperkt. De B&B is wel buiten het centrum gelegen maar de kamers zijn erg rustig en het onthaal heel vriendelijk en te voet ben je toch wel snel in het centrum en ook snel in het treinstation.
