We booked the hotel for its proximity to Mount Etna and for the beautuful looking pool and hotel. It looked lovely when we arrived but from thereon things became unsatisfactory. The hotel is regularly used as a wedding venue and when this happens hotel guests are not allowed to use the pool. The afternoon we arrived we were told we could not use the pool as there was a wedding in progress but that by 6pm it would be available - as it was the last guests left at 7.45pm so by then we were getting ready for dinner and no longer wanted to use the pool. On the 3rd day there were 2 weddings and we were told that we had to vacate the pool area by 1pm. we were extremely upset by this and spoke to the manager who said that different people book the hotel as a wedding venue from the hotel guest bookings and that we did not have a choice but to leave the pool! we pointed out that we were not told about this situation when we booked and indeed every day we had to ask if there was a wedding on. The evening weddings go on until past modnight sometimes with fireworks and very load music which again no consideration was given to the hotel guests at all. We felt as if we were not valued guests as did the rest of the hotel guests who were staying. Apparently May and June are the wedding season and they will book weddings during that time without informing guests who have alredy booked. The manager was totally ineffective in dealing with our complaint and did not seem to appreciate our greivance, though one of the front desk receptionists could understand how we felt. We could never recommend this hotel to anyone based on our experience which is a great pity as it is the most beautiful looking and fantastically positioned hotel. |

Nice Location Of little importance as we stayed for one night but the view out of the room to the outside was not like that of our previous stay. |
