Lovely start to holiday. ..
FRIENDLINESS AND HELPFULLNESS OF STAFF AND THE GREAT BREAKFASTS
LOCATION A BIT REMOTE AND SHOWER IN THE BATH
The hotel was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was incredible and so helpful. The location was quaint enough that its away from many people but close enough to get to all the primary places. I would stay here in a heartbeat. Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful.
Away from the crowds, but access to all you could want o see or do. Would definitely stay here again. Felt we were part of the neighborhood in the Caneletto (apartment) we stayed in. Only drawback was the shower which was impossible to stand up in.
I liked almost every thing that a city centre hotel like this can offer
The parking and getting bags to hotel was very stresfull
Great location, 10 minute walk to the Rialto bridge & lovely restaurants nearby. Staff were so nice and helpful :)
I would highly recommend Hotel al Duca to anyone staying in the Venice area. Having never visited Venice before, I was a little overwhelmed by the number of choices available in this unique and beautiful city. Luckily we chose right. The staff at Hotel Al Duca were very courteous helping us make reservations for dinner and the booking accommodations through Booking.com worked seamlessly. The hotel is conveniently located near the main train station in Venice which was quite helpful so that we did not have to drag all our luggage through the narrow, maze-like streets. The room retained a classic Venetian feel, but was modern, clean, and comfortable with a large bathroom and sizeable bedroom. Our room looked onto a garden area which relaxed my wife and allowed her to experience the old-world charm that defines Venice. We had a great afternoon exploring Venice before returning to our room and after a comfortable night's sleep, we enjoyed a classic European breakfast the next morning. I would highly recommend Hotel al Duca if you are looking for a comfortable and well run establishment in the heart of Venice.
very nice and friendly staff, the rooms are nicely renovated in Venice style.
We stayed now the 3rd time in the Hotel and it was again a very nice stay, we booked a family room and got an upgrade to a very big and suit. We really like the hotel and the friendly people there. The rooms are nicely renovated in Venice style so you feel like a king ;-)
A beautiful hotel in a peaceful are of Venice. Would recommend whole heartedly!
Nice room. The bed is very big, and you can take a good rest here. Wifi speed is fast. There is two boat bus stops near the hotel.
1. We take a lot of time to learn how to set up the wifi by iphone. Some employees won't set up the internet of iphone. We can use the internet until night, because different employee find the correct method to help us to set up it. 2. It is a little hard to find the location of hotel when you first arrive at Venice.
The hotel is elegantly designed and very clean and comfortable. Easy access to main attraction in Venice.
For people with large luggages and needing to walk to the hotel from the train station, it could be challenging. You need to cross three bridges and conquer several winding labyrinth-like alleys.
Central to train and cruise ship. Short walk to San Marco and realto.
Breakfast room a bit small
Spacious rooms, clean, quiet location
Wifi didn't work
- Perfect location: quiet area by the heart of Venice. - Easy to access, even at the first time. Just follow the museum signs as it is instructed at hotel's website. - Very few rooms at the hotel makes it to feel like home, not too much people coming and leaving, makes your stay a real comfort. - Professional, helpful staff. - Perfect Breakfast. - Daily cleaning. - Very nice and clean bathroom and bath tub + good air condition makes your stay comfortable.
- Quite slow internet connection. Which should be expected while you are living in an ancient city. - A bit expensive, which is also same everywhere and everything in Venice.
Easy to find and central to cruise terminal and stazione. Good recommendations for local restaurants off the tourist map.
Great little hotel, fairly easy. To find. Clean, comfortable, and a nice staff.Excellent breakfast.Would stay again. C
Manager is a very much all about her. More interested in getting her breakfast in the morning, rather than helping guests. Short and a bit rude. The remainder of the staff are excellent.
Beautiful hotel, with very accommodating hotel staff. Located in a quiet area near the museo di storia naturale (which is a big help when trying to locate the hotel for the first time in the dark- there are signs for the museum that work way better than any map.) We needed some special accommodations and the hotel staff was superb!
To get to the hotel, there are three bridges that need to crossed (steps up and steps down- no ramp!). It can be a little difficult when carrying suitcases, but that probably holds true for any location in Venice that is not right outside of the train station.
Our 3 generation family stayed here overnite en route to a Disney cruise. We were delighted to enjoy the beautiful rooms, comfortable beds and great location. Staff was friendly and helpful, even with our noisy 3 year old! Breakfast was convenient. Even the happy hour cocktails worked well!
No negative reports
1. Close to vaporetto (water taxi) station/train station. Highly recommend to commute to the hotel via vaporetto as it is much harder to traverse Venice's cobblestone streets (and bridges) with luggage - which we learnt the hard way. 2. Decent kitchenette facilities for self catering if desired 3. Great instructions from the hotel on how to find the property. We avoided getting lost as a result. 4. Property setup a cot in our apartment for our toddler on arrival. 5. Tiepolo apartment was on ground floor (3 steps up to apartment). Much easier for luggage, pram etc. 6. Wi-Fi was good
1. My extended family stayed in Canaletto apartment. They didn't like that it was up 2 flights of stairs. Would have preferred a ground floor apartment. Also, there was no standing shower (you had to shower in the bath) which they were not used to. 2. No english channels on TV
The breakfast was very good! We left out bags at the hotel before check-in, and our bags were put in the room after check-in. Great service.
If I need to say one bad thing: we had a superior room and the bath room was quite small and we did not have a bath.
We loved the gal that helped us with trying to make it to the boat tour we took. She went above and beyond anything we have experienced before. We don't know her name, but she was in her 20s, long dark hair, olive/tan skin. We were super impressed and grateful for her help with computers, luggage and running to the office to get a water taxi.
We didn't like how hard it was to find the apartment, especially at night. When a stranger helped us find it, he called the hotel and the guy at the desk didn't even know the address. You should give out a map with clear instructions and address on it. You cannot expect people who are new to remember what the door looks like because everything looks the same to us, especially when you are show in the day and you come back at night.
The hotel is in a charming neighborhood that is quieter than some others. It's great to return to after being in more crowded parts of Venice. Al Duca's breakfasts are great! Loved the morning cappucinos.
Easy walk from the vapporetto station. Nice quiet neighborhood.
Location and room has auto safe. Possible to keep travel doc.
Poor wifi in the room and circulation space limited in the bed room.
