Our Guest House is located in the historic centre of Venice, in the Cannaregio District - a 7 minute walk from the train station with only one bridge to cross.

The hotel has 9 bedrooms with private baths for rent, and an inviting courtyard where you can relax with a glass or two of wine. A terrace on the third floor can be used by all guests, a perfect spot for breakfast or an afternoon nap.

Comfortably sized, functionally furnished and very clean, all rooms have a personal, creative touch.

The owner Stacy Corson is an American living in Venice for nearly 8 years. She is focused on customer service & hospitality and is available to all her guests daily. (except when she sneaks away on vacation herself of course!) She has created a relaxing, warm, home and enjoys assisting clients in their Venetian adventures...everything from the best spot for a drink to arranging a private taxi ride down the Grand Canal! Simply ask.

Food & beverage

The hotel's own restaurant La Colombina is right next door and offers a fantastic selection of fresh, seasonal foods prepared daily by owner and Chef Domenico Iacuzio. Guests are offered a 10% discount on meals.

A continental style self service breakfast is offered daily in the guest house. It features fresh bread and fruit, coffee and tea. Just like at home, you clean up after yourself! Enjoy the Honesty Bar service in the courtyard, where a fridge is stocked with water, wine and sometimes beer. Take what you like and put the corresponding money in the box. An excellent place to meet new friends while relaxing amidst the flowers, sipping a glass of wine

Area information

The Guest House is conveniently located near the train station, P. Roma, the Venetian Casino and the Jewish Ghetto. We are about 20 minutes walking from San Marco and a traghetto ride away from the exciting Rialto Fish Market and its famous bridge. With a 15-minute walk you can reach Fondamenta Nuova, where you can hop on a vaporetto and set off to the islands of Murano, Burano, Torcello and others.
Cannaregio is a large residential district which offers visitors the experience of walking amongst locals.
There are many bars, cafes, shops, restaurants and pizzerias.

A superb homely guesthouse with a very welcoming and helpful owner and staff. Our room was very spacious, airy, and clean and the bathroom was very good. The location was excellent with a vaporetta stop close by on the Grand Canal, an interesting, easy walk from the station, and easy walking distance to all major tourist sites.

The host Stacy, her husband and her assistant Sonja as well as the staff in the nearby restauant La Colombina are extremely friendly and helpful. The B&B is charming and romantic. The honesty bar is a great thing.

The Staff is great. If you like being on your own, this hotel offers you perfect self service , but is also so much fun to be around. I will definitely be back!

The hosts (Stacey and Dominico) were excellent! They provided lots of tips about Venice and were most amiable during the afternoon to talk with. We will stay with them again.

Quiet, somewhat hidden location close to the trail leading to the main attractions. Friendly and secure atmosphere. Boat stop nearby.

Outside breakfast area is nice, but self-service and you're expected to clean your dishes afterwards.

The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. The location was tricky to find but it was in a great location. The directions provided were pretty good and helped to find it. The room was very clean and pretty big in European standards.

The bed in the room was very uncomfortable..there were no springs left in the bed it felt like. The bathroom was a little tight but manageable. Overall I was satisfied with the place.

Good location

Buffet breakfast is essentially a loaf of bread you cut and put in the toaster. Then make your own coffee & wash your things up afterwards!No hair dryer.Very noisy electric water pump for the shower and toilet in the room.

Stacey was so helpful in her recommendation & suggestions of things to do while in Venice. Venice has lost some of it's charm that I remembered from my first visit over 20 years ago, but the warmth & hospitality at Al Portico made up for the multitudes of vendors & street kiosks. The courtyard with it's "honor system" of morning foods & beverage was a wonderful start to each day.

This was a unique experience.As B&B rather than a hotel, you make your own breakfast from supplies provided by the owner and wash up afterwards.You get to meet the other guests and you stay in an authentic Venetian house.Stacy, the owner, is wonderful, as is Sonja her helper and Stacy's husband Domenico is a world-class chef. The food in their restaurant next door is not to be missed.

The staff were extremely friendly. The welcomed us late on Friday night with complimentary wine and beer in the restaurant.

Breakfast wasn't very appealing.

a wonderful personal welcome, friendly and homely. Our host was a wealth of information on Venice and offered great advice on places to go to escape the crowds. The rooms were gorgeous very simple in decor and we were surrounded by our host's wonderful artwork. We also enjoyed the self-service system and being able to relax in the courtyard at any time of day.

This is a great place to stay in Venice! I highly reccommend it. Stacy
the other is amazing, and very fun. The restaurant her and her husband
own across the street is also amazing. The beds were very comfortable,
and the room was great.

It was very noisy 1 of the 2 nights we stayed there, early in the
morning.

Stacy is wonderful! The courtyard at the hotel is a perfect gathering area. It is so quaint and beautiful! It really is unique to Italian buildings. The rooms are lovely.
