Charming rooms, nice views, very friendly and helpful staff who would do their best to please you, awesome breakfast with fresh fruit salad and fresh bruschetta, etc
Thin walls and no internet upstairs.
The location is really close to the city centre, value for money is really good, the owner Claudio is helpful. Breakfast was included in the price and at the single big table we met other guests from other countries. Our room was clean and had all the conforts.
At night we had some trouble sleeping for the noise even with the window shut, as we heard continuous shouting by presumably drunk people in the street through the night. Claudio, although always really helpful and caring, unfortunately was late the morning of our checkout and we had to wait for him for about 20 minutes.
Everything ! Felt like home and right in the heart of this beautiful , vibrant town! Clau's home grown tomatoes, wine and bread we had on the train west were to die for!
Having to leave!
Lovely place, with nice host, and well located. The breakfast is so nice !
It's a very nice B&B in a medieval building, lovingly restored by Claudio the owner. The location is great, right in the heart of old Lucca. Good bufet breakfast included in the price. Next time we're in Lucca we won't look for any other place!
Nothing at all to write here :)
Location was excellent, The owner was friendly and helpful, The decor was old but charming.
The bed was small and the doors stuck. Don't stay here if you like modern comforts but for a true Tuscan experience, this hotel is great.
We love Claudio, the owner and host. He is amazing. We love meeting the other folks staying the Claudio's when we have breakfast around the large dining table. Somehow, he always gets the best people to stay at his place! This B&B feels like we're visiting family when we come into Lucca. How does Claudio do that? One suggestion: Some of the back rooms don't have very strong wi-fi, so if you really need it, perhaps you might ask for a room closer to the front. But, heck, you're in Lucca, so what do you need wifi for? :) Consider checking out Chef Paolo Monti's Cooking Class....Google it...my sister and I have done it twice now, and we love this class, and Chef Monti. Also, there's a great vineyard that you can take a bike tour to. We used a company called "Tuscany Ride a Bike" (not far at all from the B&B) and rented their GPS to go on a self-guided tour to the winery they recommend. And it was so much fun! In short, we love Lucca. And Al Tuscany B&B is our favorite place to stay every time we come to Italy. After this last visit, we are happy to say we still feel the same.
The room was very small, nothing like the pictures. We ended up in an improvised room in the attic and we couldn't even stand in the washroom/ shower which was quite inconvenient. The shower was flooding. As well, Claudio the owner is very disorganized and cost us to pay one day extra on our rental car as he was late for our check out.
Thanks Claudio for a charming stay. Cute breakfast room. Lift for bags. View of Lucca rooftops from room is perfect
The staff couldn't be more helpful.
The B & B is right in the middle of the town. The owner was super friendly and helpful in all ways. We plan on returning to Lucca one day and would definitely stay here again.
Entrance was not very visible
Claudio is the perfect host! We were supposed to stay only one night and ended up staying for 3. Lucca is perfect to explore the nearby cities (Florence, Pisa, Siena) with fast trains every hour and the beautiful Chianti region. Don't expect a 5 star hotel, that's not what Al Tuscany tries to be. But if you want to fully immerse yourself into the life and culture of a beautiful city, this is the place to stay at!
The owner, his son and their employee were very kind, hospitable and helpful indeed! They gave us a hearty welcome a bottle of water for free at arrival, the breakfast was really good for Italian circumstances (they ar normally having an espresso and a sweet cake themselfes) and the room was nice with attached bathroom. Super value for the money!
The owner was very helpful. Staff were very nice. Room was good and spacious. Location was central easy to get around from there.
The lift did not work, quite a hike to carry cases upstairs.
Good position, helpful staff and friendly
Attic room, low ceiling with beams, kept bumping our heads!. Poor bathroom although lots of hot water at least!
terrible breakfast very uncomfortable bed while clean, generally old and dingy
Great and very friendly owner of the hotel - it was like visiting an old Italian friend. The breakfast he treated us was perfect and very home-like. Hotel's interior is marvelous and very authentic.
Very well located next to Piazza Napoleone. Very friendly owner, and really a place like a home. Great value.
Owner is extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast is good. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Good location.
Claudio and Gill were the perfect hosts, so friendly and welcoming, it was a pleasure to stay at Al Tuscany. We had such a wonderful stay.
Huge room, great location
So hard to find!
Al Tuscany is a charming, clean and comfortable. It's located in a quiet street inside the walls of Old Town in Lucca. Near to everything! The owner Claudio was a real gentleman and he was very helpful. My friend and I slept like Queens in the suite. Claudio invited us on lunch in privacy and we had a great time before we left Lucca.
Very friendly and helpful owner. Very good central location. Plenty of hot water.
The B and B is at the top of the building and there is a small lift that goes part of the way up. The rooms would benefit from a makeover. Unnecessary small kitchen area in our room would be better replaced with built in wardrobe space. Bathroom on our friends room needed redesigning - tiny washbasin, awkward door to shower that doesn't stay closed. Building was having work done but felt damp. Would not have wanted to stay longer than 2 nights in our rooms.
It was located right downtown. Staff very helpful and kind. Room and linen was nice. We only stayed a night, wish we could of stayed 2 days more.
