Claudio was very kind and friendly helping and making our stay special and warming.
Very sweet, hospitable host. Huge, elegant room in a very historic house. Great price for such luxurious feeling accommodations!
the staff was very, very attentive and helpful. This B&B is very well located and has large room.
Very friendly, personal service, ready to meet any needs.
Greeting by the owner and his staff. Coffee on offer during the day and pastries. Well-restored old building. Location right in the centre of Lucca. Good Wifi.
The breakfast was fantastic...much variety and regional dishes. Claudio was interesting and helpful, a man for all seasons. The location is great.
It was a very pleasant stay. The host was a friendly and delightful man. He offered us wine when we arrived and again when we came back with a takeaway. I would stay again.
Bed was great, room size was good and Lorenzo was helpful .great restraint just down the road but need to book.
Shower was tiny, curtain was flimsy and annoying, hair dryer did not work as it was Full of flint and needed a clean.
The staff was very helpful and always available for any questions. Very clean and the location was great. Historic atmosphere but well kept. Is great value & if anyone I know is going to Lucca I would recommend it.
Enthusiastic welcome, with a choice of hot or cold drink by the owner and staff. Lift to the third floor was small but very welcome. Choice of room offered and we chose the 'romantic' room up a rather steep set of stairs. Lovely room with a view of the rooftops and towers. Sloping roof could be a problem if tall. Shower room small and squeezed into the corner of the room, but functioned ok. Breakfast was served round a big oval in the main reception room, with a wonderful frescoed ceiling and antique furniture. Good choice of cereals, pastries, ham and mozzerella cheese, fresh fruit salad, fresh fruit and the usual variety of sweet fare. Coffee refills offered. Advice offered on Lucca, its attractions and eating out. This B&B might not suit everyone but we really appreciated its quirkiness, its helpful owner, its value for money, and its great location in the historic centre.
Nothing Some of the rooms, certainly the ones on the top floor, wouldnt suit tall guests.
The owners helpfulness and the way he gave us information regarding the town. Claudio was brilliant in his manner and the set up for the breakfast and what was available to eat was unbelievable.
The problem that they had double booked and we ended up sleeping in a box room. Okay for a one night stay and the fact he reduced our rate, but still not the best way to enjoy our short stay.
Claudio, the owner, is an excellent host, a true gentleman and goes out of his way to be helpful way beyond what would be expected. In fact all three of the staff that we encountered were excellent. The B & B is rather quirky and our room (which was actually a suite that we were upgraded to unexpectedly) was furnished with antique furniture. At breakfast, all guests are seated around a large communal table, and whilst it might not suit everyone, it actually worked and all the guests from several different countries mixed very well. Upon arrival in the street, we were looking for some kind of sign for the B & B but there isn't one; you have to take care to look for the building number 17 then press the correct intercom button to announce your arrival.
The room was a little too dark and would be improved by improved lighting. The shower in our room was not easy to use and required instruction from Claudio (a recurring event he informed us).
Claudio the owner is a nice man.The house was very central.
This B&B is in need of a make over .Very basic accommodation, cleanliness is ok not great. overbooked our first night had to stay in their other B&B "camera con Vista" down the road. We would never have booked this accommodation. The bedroom was ok but the building was very run down and creepy. Found it difficult to find the breakfast room because the door was closed and locked. We would not stay in either of these B&B again. Would not recommend them.
Charming rooms, nice views, very friendly and helpful staff who would do their best to please you, awesome breakfast with fresh fruit salad and fresh bruschetta, etc
Thin walls and no internet upstairs.
The location is really close to the city centre, value for money is really good, the owner Claudio is helpful. Breakfast was included in the price and at the single big table we met other guests from other countries. Our room was clean and had all the conforts.
At night we had some trouble sleeping for the noise even with the window shut, as we heard continuous shouting by presumably drunk people in the street through the night. Claudio, although always really helpful and caring, unfortunately was late the morning of our checkout and we had to wait for him for about 20 minutes.
- staff is very helpful - location in the centre of lucca - breakfast was fresh!
Everything ! Felt like home and right in the heart of this beautiful , vibrant town! Clau's home grown tomatoes, wine and bread we had on the train west were to die for!
Having to leave!
Lovely place, with nice host, and well located. The breakfast is so nice !
It's a very nice B&B in a medieval building, lovingly restored by Claudio the owner. The location is great, right in the heart of old Lucca. Good bufet breakfast included in the price. Next time we're in Lucca we won't look for any other place!
Nothing at all to write here :)
Location was excellent, The owner was friendly and helpful, The decor was old but charming.
The bed was small and the doors stuck. Don't stay here if you like modern comforts but for a true Tuscan experience, this hotel is great.
We love Claudio, the owner and host. He is amazing. We love meeting the other folks staying the Claudio's when we have breakfast around the large dining table. Somehow, he always gets the best people to stay at his place! This B&B feels like we're visiting family when we come into Lucca. How does Claudio do that? One suggestion: Some of the back rooms don't have very strong wi-fi, so if you really need it, perhaps you might ask for a room closer to the front. But, heck, you're in Lucca, so what do you need wifi for? :) Consider checking out Chef Paolo Monti's Cooking Class....Google it...my sister and I have done it twice now, and we love this class, and Chef Monti. Also, there's a great vineyard that you can take a bike tour to. We used a company called "Tuscany Ride a Bike" (not far at all from the B&B) and rented their GPS to go on a self-guided tour to the winery they recommend. And it was so much fun! In short, we love Lucca. And Al Tuscany B&B is our favorite place to stay every time we come to Italy. After this last visit, we are happy to say we still feel the same.
The room was very small, nothing like the pictures. We ended up in an improvised room in the attic and we couldn't even stand in the washroom/ shower which was quite inconvenient. The shower was flooding. As well, Claudio the owner is very disorganized and cost us to pay one day extra on our rental car as he was late for our check out.
Thanks Claudio for a charming stay. Cute breakfast room. Lift for bags. View of Lucca rooftops from room is perfect
The staff couldn't be more helpful.
The B & B is right in the middle of the town. The owner was super friendly and helpful in all ways. We plan on returning to Lucca one day and would definitely stay here again.
