The location is close to the sights. The attitude and assistance of the staff deserved our respect. The atmosphere of the room was romantic. My husband and I liked the hotel very much. Thank you.

Well located, clean and newly renovated. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned and made up daily. Very specific directions about finding the hotel would be helpful as Venice is not an easy place for first timers.

location was great just by the canal and church clock tower great city ... just love it! bed was very hard and uncomfortable small room although had a premium room overlooking the canal but window position made it awkword to look at the canal and bridge near by. so dont spend more on the room pay for an extra gondola ride instead

Location was good if being close to Rialto is your choice. Fairly quick walk to San Marco and the accademe. Room was fine ,insulation negligible , with impressionable children need I say more. Even though coffee was a quick walk downstairs and around the corner , a little starter inthe room would be nice. But that is an italian govt rule not the hotel's choice.

The hotel was in a good location in the city and priced well since it is an expensive city. The directions on the website on how to arrive were confusing. The Hotel did not have wifi and needs to be updated. Our room was close to the stairs and was noisy in the morning.

Great location and value for money!! I thought the room was terrific and the style and décor inside. The room backed straight-on to a canal so it was a romantic setting. The hotel restaurant below the room was excellent and served really good seafood, and it was delicious and well cooked!! Really enjoyed my stay in this Hotel!! .. Couldn’t fault it, great value for money too!! ..

This hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are well-appointed, the location is wonderful and it is fantastic value for money in what is a very high-cost destination. We stayed here three times, and each time it has been excellent. Some people won't like the fact that you have to go out for breakfast and there is no lounge area - but it is only a 1 star hotel, so if you want more facilities, you pay more and go more upmarket.

This hotel deserves more than 1 star - it is simple, but spotlessly clean and comfortable. The position next to ss. Apostoli couldn't be better. We have stayed in so-called 2 and 3 star hotels which haven't been as good as this. Breakfast isn't provided, so you have to go out for it, but this is not a major problem as there are many good bars and pasticcerie on Strada Nova. But it might be an issue for some people.,

Close to all the shopping areas and just walking distance to the Basilica. Excellent location once you find it. No Internet connection and the direction to the hotel as described in the website is not that easy to follow..very confusing. We walked all around Piazza Rialto with our luggage in tow and finally found it by accident. The rooms are very small for 3 people.

Location excellent. Hotel staff just OK. But they did offer us the welcome use of wellingtons when the tide was high and the streets had 6 inches of water. No Breakfast available at this hotel which I felt was very bad value considering they charged us 150 euros per night for a double. Just generally disappointed with this hotel.

Location: next to Realto bridge. We have booked a three-person room but get a two person with additional cot. And all this in a tiny-tiny room of about 9 sq.m. We could barely squeeze between the bad and the cot into the bathroom. The mosquito added to the impression. The person at the reception apologized and gave us a discount, but the night was ruined. Pay attention at what you're booking and what you're getting.

We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Al Vagon. It was really easy to find, following the directions on the hotel website. Our room was clean, comfortable and full of character. (Room 26) We had two windows overlooking the canal, which was so interesting. It was Venice as I had imagined! Full marks to the hotel staff, especially to the owner who got us out of a very sticky situation on our check-out day. The tide was exceptionally high, and our little square was flooded, but he trundled us over to the cafe next door on his porter's trolley. Unforgettable! I can't remember last time the I laughed so much!

The location is very good as you are only 5 mins walk to Rialto Bridge and 10 mins walk to St Marks Square. You are also very close to the main shopping areas, non tourist restaurants and also the Grand Canal As far as classifying Al Vagon as a 'hotel' I would be more inclined to say it served as a comfortable and convenient place to sleep as the facilities were very limited...no tea / coffee making facilities,,no breakfast, no bar, no lounge areas, a very small lobby / reception...pretty basic. Also some of the rooms are at the rear and have to be accessed by a different entrance, so in effect our party were split up whilst in our rooms, which we weren't aware of when we booked ! Having said all of the above, the rooms were beautifully decoarated in true Venetian style and were clean,& comfortable, although for the time of year ours could have been a little warmer ( apparently the heating doesn't work until November !! )

Central location a few minutes from Rialto. Superior room with two tall windows overlooking small square. Looking to the left we could see a small stretch of the Rio Apostoli canal and the tower of the Ss Apostoli church beyond it. We deposited our suitcases at reception on arrival in Venice. (We had a room in the hotel annex across the street from reception - this is the room shown on the website photo with a couple standing in the windows). The room had a four-poster bed which was nice to look at but took up much of the space in room! There were no flower boxes as shown in the photo for our stay (a bit late in the year?) - would be good if these are put back next spring. Lots of stairs up to this floor - no lift. We knew in advance the hotel is basic - accommodation only - limited services: no breakfast, or wifi. .

We arrived after midnight the staff member at the desk was very helpful, courteous and friendly. The hotel is easy to get to from Roma Ferry Port but I highly recommend following the instructions on the hotels website. Amazing location, great restaurants and cafes nearby. Rialto Bridge is a few minutes away and the walk to Piazza San Marco is roughly 10 minutes. The room was a good size, traditional Italian decor, good size bathroom and very clean. This was our first visit to Venice and we will stay at Al Vagon when we return to magical Venice.

Excelent location in the center of Venice - 20 minutes by walk from the main bus station via main streets (you cannot lose yourself), 10 minutes far from Billa supermarket, 10 minutes far from St. Marco. You can explore Venice without neccessity to move across the town each day. Friendly staff. Security (small tresor in the room, always someone at the reception desk). Cleanliness.

The location mostly, it was only 5 minutes walk away from The Rialto Bridge and close to the ferry to get to Murano Island as well. It would have been nice if breakfast was included but there was no restaurant or dining room.

We enjoyed our experience immensely and would highly recommend it as a centrally located hotel. Excellent directions on website with only one bridge to cross...a major bonus with heaps of luggage as we had! Room with a balcony was worth paying for too, overlooking canal but room extremely quiet. We enjoyed it all!
