Beds were firm. This may suit others though. Could hear noise coming back from bars/restaurants and people generally having a good time. If your a heavy sleeper like me you won't be disturbed.
Room was adequate in size for two of us. Beautifully decorated with Venetian furniture. Lots of room and storage with wardrobe. Amazing canal veiws, lovely to wake up to every morning! Within walking distance to all main attractions.
Noise from Juice bar below, loud music until 2 am. Somebody in Reception area had television on very loud at 3.am, waking everybody up.
The reception staff were very helpful. Able to leave our luggage on last day and they were happy to try and get us reservations at a local restaurant and order water taxi for our return to the airport. Rooms were clean and functional. Ideal for a long weekend visit.
Just would have liked coffee facility
The view was amazing and the staff extremely helpful and friendly
Very small room, the sheets was never changed in 5 days, Bad smelling shower gel And the towels was smelling like cigars!
The venețian design of the room And the placement of the hotel near Rialto bridge!
The room was tiny, so if you like space it probably isn't for you! But it was beautifully decorated!
I loved everything! The location was great, so close to everything! We paid the extra 10 euro for a canal view and it was so worth it! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!!! :)
Pillows and bed linens could have been better quality. Stairs to the second level are very steep and there was no handrail.
We had a room for 3 with no extra charge for the 3rd bed. Very roomy and nicely appointed. Very clean with nice size bathroom, too. Loved being right on the canal side of the hotel.
Wifi could have been better.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great location. Room was well decorated. Sangria place next door is fun.
Absolutely nothing to complain about.
We have visited Venice in the past, so are well aware of the variety - and cost - of accommodation available. The reviews of the Al Vagon all indicated good value for money and friendly staff and the location was exactly where we wanted. There's really not a lot to add. The place is comfortable, clean and very keenly priced. Although there is no restaurant, the local area abounds with great eateries and bars. This is a very good budget hotel that punches well above its one star rating and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a short stay in Venice.
- nothing - everything was fine, we only stayed there at night for a sleep - somebody could miss the breakfast (and other meals), but there are many nice restaurants and fast foods near and the breakfast was much better this way (for us)
+ great location of the hotel (in the middle of Venice, close to all big monuments, night life) + beautiful room (green and gold decor, beautiful furniture like in a castle) + clean room, good room service + very nice, helpful and pleasant hotel staff + free wifi
No quilts in the winter, not enough pillows and uncomfy bed
Helpful staff, great location and relaxing.
Everything. The hotel is located only 5 mins from the Rialto Bridge and 15 mins from Dt Marks Square. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was beautifully decorated with iconic Venice canal views. Fantastic location, great view, good value for money. We would recommend staying here in fact if we go back to Venice we would stay at the hotel!!!
Was the perfect location to stay. My room had a beautiful view of the canal.
Unfortunately, the room had a view of a wall which was 30 cm away from the window, so there was no access to daylight. It would be nice to have at least a little kettle, even without coffee / tee (it's only a 1 star ...), but they didn't have it even to rent it. Winter in Venice is quite cold and would be very nice to have a cup of tea after coming back to the room. The hotel does not offer breakfast, so eat something in the morning in the room, without access to boiled water is iwhat we missed most. Although the hotel was the cheapest available (booked several months in advance), was VERY expensive as for what it offers and its 1 star! 150 EUR per night is cheap for Venice on New Years Eve, but terribly expensive if you stay longer!
We stayed in a renovated, spacious room at the rear of the building (no reception). The room had a safe, but there was no other equipment besides old, very small tv. The owner and his daughter were extremely nice and helpfull. We had a medical appointment in the room, which we arrived too late and the young girl at the reception was deeply affected and telephoned to the doctor in our case. Thank you very much! Wifi worked very well.
Little cramped for a triple room
It was close to everything and comfortable. Perfect to explore Venice.
The hotel is in an excellent location, the rooms are spacious and well equipped. The manager and staff were extremely helpful and I couldn't recommend this hotel enough.
no restaurant no wiffi on the hall there is a kind of bar that plays music between the hotel so maybe sometimes it can be a little bit noisy, but if u keep the windows closed it shouln't be a problem
kind staff good location cute bedroom clean hotel 24h a day, 7days a week open and someone on the hall
Boozy yelling, shouting and loud noise till very late/early morning from juice bar on ground floor, next to entrance. Not part of the Hotel though. Maybe this was just a Xmas period thing!?
The room is dreamy and has such a nice Venice feel to it. Location is great and one is within walking distance of most sights and shopping. We will return to room 25!!!
It is difficult to find a single room in Venice so I was pleased to find one at Al Vagon. However, the bed was a bit narrow (2'6" by my estimation). 3' would have been great.
The room I stayed in at this very centrally located hotel was warm, clean and very quiet, and the staff were polite and helpful
- the reception area was quite small - if you have luggage you need to go through a foot bridge (w/ steps) to/from Ca'd'Oro waterbus
- location (near Rialto, can walk to San Marco & Doge, restos/cafes & grocery nearby) - spacious triple room - near water bus (Ca'd'oro, Rialto) - luggage deposit - towel heater
Nothing all good
Location, cleanliness had really great weekend!! X
Helpful personnel ! Very good position Canal View
Hard to find and locate. More signage will help!
Quiet and peaceful surrounding area is the reason for staying at al vagon
Location/very quiet/proper air conditioning
Felt I paid a lot for no frills, a small room and quite a noisy spot.
Character of the room, clean and a really comfy bed. Good spot from which to explore Venice.
