Best Western Hotel Ala  

This is the view of the three of us, a mature couple with a friend: Best Western Hotel Ala was very clean, the breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choices to make, the staff were attentive and helpful, there was a lift to the upper floors, the rooms were spacious and the bathroom we had was roomy and very clean. Internet as well as wifi was provided in a small room with an on-line computer and printer, all free. Of course, its proximity to a vaporetto stop, gondolier stand, and close walking distance to all the exciting and interesting features of Venice were most appealing; there are many good restaurants close by. It was one of the best European hotels we have stayed in at that price range, and we will certainly return, and recommend this hotel.

Breakfast each morning was excellent The hotel arranged for taxi ride over to Murano every 15minutes on the Saturday morning which was great The location was Fabulous - only about 5-10minutes walk from St Marks Square and heaps of Restaurants and shops Building was very well designed - very clean throughout Free Internet access in the Foyer was handy

The Bathroom seemed to have been recently renovated and in all fairness was very modern throughout however when using the shower water just sprayed out onto the floor everywhere and the drain was on the other side of the room - very poor design.

This hotel is well situated near the places of interest and near vaporetto station, has good brekfasts, good service staff.

The Hotel is ideally located a very short distance from the Giglio Water Bus stop and within easy walking distance to St. Marks Square. Our room was spacious, quiet and overlooked the canal. The breakfast was well presented with a good selection of baked goods, cheeses, cold cuts, eggs and tomatoes. I would certainly recommend this 3 star hotel to anyone looking for good value for their money.

Easy to find, because this is our first trip to Venezia. It is located in the center of everything ! Shops, restaurants, cafes, gondola's station, water bus station.. Every thing ! The breakfast was great. All the staff were so helpful. Special thanks to Mr. Andrea (the owner), who helped me rescheduling my booking and avoid cancelation fee.

No elevator.. ^_^ but the staff help us with our big luggages.

Great central location for exploring Venice. Excellent breakfast and good bar to come back to for a night cap.

We booked a superior double room and were completely underwhelmed by it. It was ok but definitely not superior!

The staff were friendly and the location, being only 8 -10 mins walk from St Mark's Square was ideal. We had a small'ish double with a balcony overlooking a minor canal. The balcony was wonderful for sitting out with a coffee after a day's sightseeing. The breakfast was more then sufficient, and again the staff were very helpful when items ran short. The access from the airport was fine. Either get to St Mark's square and make the short walk, or the local waterbus is no more then 50 metres away or arrive in style to the hotel water entrance by water taxi. The choice is yours! We would happliy stay at this hotel again.

The room had all the basics, save that we did not have coffee making facilities. This was a minor irritant as the staff brought complementary coffee/tea/biscuits on request. The en-suite was very small, but was adiquate.

The convenience - very close to the Giglio vaporrotto boat stop (no bridges, steps); easy walking to 3 interesting districts of San Marco, Castello, Dorsoduro. Friendly and helpful staff.

Good location and easy tp get to. Easy to get to resturants and shops from hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

The location was good.

The hotel staff was completely unfriendly and seemed unaware of the concept of customer service. Example: we got a room that was not belonging to the category we booked and we nearly had to beg to get back to the type of room we had booked and paid for. All 4 staffers we talked to were reacting by raising their voice with intimidating tone. We had issues even when I claimed my best western points on my fidelity card. There is no value for money. If you dont get a big room you will probably end up in a small room with a tiny bathroom where water spills all over the place when you take a shower. Beware that if you want to get the wifi you need to be lodged in the first two floors. Despite the good location I would absolutely NOT recommend this hotel.

The excellent location, quality of facilities, service and the atmosphere of a Venezian Palazzo. And everything for a reasonable price.
