Best Western Hotel Ala

Staff pleasant and helpful. Breakfast service excellent. Rooms average size with reasonable bathroom facilities. Well situated for our visit to Venice.

The cleanleness of the room. After the 1st night my wife and I had bites on our skins from either mosquito's or bed bugs !! 2nd and 3rd night the same even though full precauctions were taken with protection creams etc. We are convinced this problem was bed bugs or fleas !! Will write to the hotel directly after taking medical advice from our Doctor on our return from Venice. Both of us still have skin bite problems. This really affected our short break and we are convinced that the skin irratation was caused via the bed or the room in general - Room 110.

Location was excellent, staff were very helpful, good breakfasts, rooms were pleasant to stay in, clean towels each day.

Location of first room given to us: was above the bar, noise from this and the fact that a public passage way was just outside meant that there was noise for most of the night up until 5 am in the morning. After the 2nd night of this, we requested a move and was given the choice of 3 rooms. We were totally noise free for the remainder of out stay. Other major concern was the most uncomfortable hard bed(s) that I have slept on in many years. Far too hard, woke up with painful sides and back.

Staf is friendly and the location is convinience.I found the good bar near the hotel at night.

My room was near the reception. So It was very noisy in the morning.

They have free Wi-Fi service for 24hrs account during our stay. Hot water control is good. Breakfast is good enough. And the hotel location is close to tourist spot.

I've booked 2 single rooms but 2 rooms are so different. Room size too different from each other, but facility is same.

The room and bathroom were luxurious. Fresh sheets daily might sound unnecessary, but it became something we enjoyed. And with the water bus about 100 feet away, and San Marco only minutes walk, the location is simply the best!

Loved the location, well placed easy walk to most and the proximity of the water bus stop was a real bonus, particularly in terms of arriving, but also later when sightseeing. The breakfasts were great with a very wide choice and they never ran out of popular items. The staff were great too. We asked for a quiet room and got it.

No, I was a bit wary of Venice having read many many negative comments about hotels in general. We knew in general in Italy there are no carpets, and we like this. We have stayed in Best Westerns before and their standard was always good, so we booked.

The hotel was within 10 mins of St Marks square and therefore idealy situated for the whole of Venice.

the hotel was very clean, and we had a nice room on the first floor. our room had a canal view, which was very nice to sit and watch the gondola's going by at night. hotel had a nice looking restaurant attached to it as well, but did not eat there.. all in all, a very pleasent stay

the only downside to our stay in venice was the fact that this being our first trip to the city, we were unsure of how the vaporetto's operated and were forced to walk to our hotel from the st lucia train station, which turned out to be a three hour trip of lugging our luggage up and down the hundreds of little steps and bridges that abound in venice. i would either book a room closer to the train station next time, or learn more about how the water taxi's operated beforehand.
