Open your window at Albergo Abruzzi and you are greeted by one of Rome’s most famous landmarks, the Pantheon. Set in the heart of the historic center, this hotel is ideal for those of you who really want to get a feel of Rome. The historic building is typical of those found in this area. The location is amazing. We had a room on the top floor looking out on the square and the Pantheon to the left , what a view. You can soak up the atmosphere from your bedroom window. There was live Italian music/ singing playing in the square most evenings and it drifted up to our room.It really helped set the mood,it was lovely. Due to the location we had expected it to be noisy but this wasn't the case and we slept very well. It all went quiet by about 11.30pm ish anyway, not that it was that noisy,we enjoyed the music. Stepping from the quiet air conditioned foyer out into heat, hustle and bustle of Rome and then back again felt quite surreal. The rooms were quite basic, but very nice and kept very clean. The rooms also came with tea and coffee making facilities, which is always pleasant to find. All the staff were lovely , helpful and friendly. The lift is one the first floor up a short and narrow staircase with no banister which might be a problem for some although the staff do as much as they can to help, ie carry the bags for you. The hotel has also addressed the "hidden" step in the foyer that one reviewer mentioned by putting a strip of back along the edge. Breakfast - dont be put off by the voucher that you have to take across the square that works quite well and can add to your holiday, sat in a square looking out at the Pantheon, what a start to the day. There are plenty of nice places to eat and drink near by.. And a very nice Gelataria right next to the hotel. A really nice place to base yourself in Rome and as we have thrown our coins in the Trevi fountain we hope to stay here again when we return. Nothing - it was perfect for what we wanted, thankyuou.

good location Despite a good location on the Pantheon square, the rates for this hotel are not normal: a 300-400 euros range for this sub-3 stars hotel is difficult to understand. There is no breakfast as such, no lift to get to the first floor and noone to help you carrying your luggage and there is no real view on the pantheon as the windows open on the square but not on the pantheon itself. Also rooms are very dark and sad.

Really excellent location opposite the Pantheon, you couldn't ask for more. The hotel staff were very friendly and informative , the room was scrupulously clean , breakfast was in a small restaurant opposite it meant you could sit outside in the square overlooking the Pantheon, bliss ! Virtually all the major sites were within walking distance of the hotel eg Vatican/St. Peters Basilica/Sistine Chapel/ Colosseum were within a 35 minute walk often less , Trevi Fountain / Spanish Steps 5 mins away ! We will definitely stay there again

the location was perfect and the rooms were nice and airy with a great view of the panthenon. the receptionist told us to keep the noise down when we were laughing for approx 10 mins when changing to go out for dinner at 8.00pm as an italian woman had complained her screaming lasted ten times longer than our laughing and was way over the top, the receptionist then repeated this constantly throughout our stay causing a unessesary tension, the womans room was located above a singer who was much louder and lasted all night whcih we did not mind, we are were not a rowdy bunch a couple and our friend, i would only reccomend this hotel if you have your vocal cords removed before hand and apparently it is forbidden to knock on each others door when going for dinner you must use the phone it was ridiculous !

We booked a room with a view of the Pantheon. Normally I dont care about a view as are you in your room alot? Nope........But I thought why not- and it is gorgeous to wake up look out the window and see that. Its noisy but you shut the windows and theres no noise plus you know that going there that it is a busy area.Lovely spacious room, nice and helpful staff, reasonables prices considering the location. Strangely enough not over run either with tourists. Close to Cat sanctuary and supermarket. Gorgeous salumeria selling delicious panini and torta in the square. We will definetly stay here again. Nothing. All fantastic.

The location was excellent right by the Pantheon. The female front desk staff in the morning was very knowledgeable about the area and gave great tips on getting from place to place. Also, we really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which was in a restaurant across the piazza from our hotel.

I booked two single rooms at the Albergo Abuzzi,we were told one would be in the main hotel and one in the annex. When we arrived I got a room in the main hotel the lift was out of order for two days I had 3 flights of stairs and I have Asthma all of the electrics went off and and even the emergency saftey lights did not work on the stairs. My friends room was in the so called Annex which is not an Annex at all it is the Multi occupancy building next door, the extra rooms are in somesones flat non of the rooms have a number on them and the one my friend was in looked out onto a brick wall. When the electrics went off again there were no safety lights and my friend had to use the torch on her mobile phone to walk up and down the stairs. The Albergo Abruzzi is a dangerous RIp OFF of a Hotel,it is a Joke and I really do not know how they are getting away with this Rip Off we paid 674 Euro for two nights which is a lot of money. I would not send my worst enemy to The Albergo Abruzzi Hotel. I travel all the time on business and use Booking .com about 30 times a year but will think twice before using them again as this was the worst place I have ever stayed and when you tried to talk to the staff they just did not want to know my friend speaks Italian and even when she told them about all the problems they just could not care less. The only thing good about the hotel was the location I really think that Booking.com should not work with this hotel in the future because it is dangerous. Maria B McDonnell

Excellent location right in front of the Pantheon with some of the rooms offering a view. Clean, modern and stylish room. As they do not have any space for serving breakfast you will get vouchers to a cafe across the piazza (just 50 meters away) which serves an excellent breakfast buffet. Our bathroom had a bidet right in front of the toilet which made an otherwise excellent bathroom a little too cramped.

I stayed at this hotel to celebrate my engagement. I had booked in advanced a room with a pantheon view and we had a complimentary bottle of red waiting in the room for us which was so kind. The room is small and simple but that was what we expected. We were not looking for the huge suite since we were coming to Rome to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Rather, we looked for the best location and for that, Albergo Abruzzi is in the absolute best location where everything is less than 15-20 minutes away by foot. Furthermore, the hotel is on the beautiful piazza of the Pantheon, full of life and cafes and music. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast arrangement with a restaurant on the Pantheon piazza was unbelievable (we ate breakfast every morning sitting in front of the pantheon... It does not get better than that)! Overall - great experience. If you are looking for the huge luxury hotel, this is not it and you will not find it in the center of Rome for this price. But if you are looking for a clean, good and a hotel in an amazing location, this is the best I have seen in the 10 years I have been coming to this amazing city. The Shower was very small. Although I could fit in it (5.4 ft girl) my fiancee (6.3ft) had a little bit of a hard time. Onemay complain that the rooms were a little small but this is quite common in Italy and the room absolutely made the most of the space.

The location is fantastic. We love the Panthenon, and Piazza Novana. Walking distance to the Coloseum and the Vatican. The hotel is a quant old style that has been modernised enough to be very comfortable. As is the case in many places in Italy, the smell of cigarette smoke.

THE VIEW FROM THE ROOM - ROOM 405 WAS SIMPLY WONDERFUL. TRY TO BOOK A ROOM WITH A VIEW OF THE PANTHEON. THIS IS NOT A LUXURY HOTEL BUT A CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE HOTEL IN A FABULOUS LOCATION. THE VIEW WAS THE BEST THING ABOUT THE HOTEL. WE WOULD STAY AGAIN, SUBJECT TO PRICE. THE BATHROOM WAS EXCEPTIONALLY SMALL, GETTING INTO THE SHOWER MAY BE A PROBLEM FOR SOME PEOPLE - PARTICULARLY THOSE WITH MOBILITY DIFFICULTIES. THE LIFT ONLY STARTS AFTER 2 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS - OUR CASE WAS TAKEN TO THE ROOM FOR US. WE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THE STAIRS - BUT ANYONE WHO HAS MOBILITY PROBLEMS WOULD FIND IT DIFFICULT.

Nice, air conditioned room with a Pantheon view and an incredible location in the historic centre. The hotel staff are very warm and friendly and happy to help out with any questions we had. We would stay here again when we come back to Rome. We were not keen on the breakfast- but having said that it wasn't dreadful or anything.

The central location was definitely a plus, all the biggest tourist attractions are within walking distance! The view from the room was great (providing you get the room with the Pantheon view). It's located in a pedestrian area, so no cars, although an occasional taxi comes by. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and well-looked after. Breakfast is not at the hotel, but at a little restaurant on the other side of the small piazza. The selection of breakfast (continental) is very good and the staff there is friendly as well. Wide selection of food, of good quality! The piazza is very cosy, it's nice to just sit there during the day or the evening and have some coffee or dinner. The hotel does not have a huge lobby or lounge, it's basically; door, hall, reception, stairs. But restaurants and cafeterias are plenty at the piazza. People who are not in great shape might not like the fact that although there is an elevator, it does not go to and from all floors. So up the stairs it is! Light sleepers might find the evening noises coming from the piazza below annoying. But with a central location like this, it's only natural it's busy in the evenings. Bring ear plugs. If you want total peace, you need to find a hotel in a remote area. Nothing to complain otherwise, we had a wonderful time there!

The location was excellent and within walking distance of all major attractions. The atmosphere in the piazza below was very vibrant. Like many european hotels there was only a tiny elevator which started on the first floor and the bathroom in our room was very small.

If you have room with view to pantheon it is perfect but you will not sleep well because of the noise in the early morning. It is a nice hotel. Don't expect 5 star quality but it is really like 3 star hotel also good for couples. But be careful and ask room with view to Pantheon. Other view is to a dark shaft. They have two buildings - original building of Hotel Abruzzi and additional building. Don't allow to get to the additionl building because you will get a hostel quality (really really horrible in many ways). We got it and next day morning I asked to get room in original building. They immediately said OK. And they gave us room with view to Pantheon in the same price. Wifi is paid 2 EUR/hour. Internet should be free! So if you get the right room this hotel is PERFECT. But if you get bad room it can be horrible for you.
