Score from 513 reviews Good
1) pastry shop and grocery store just downstairs 2) plenty of food options nearby 3) short walk to piazza unita 4) tram opicina and taxi queue right outside the hotel 5) breakfast spread and live fireplace in breakfast room
No major issues, just some things to take note of. 1) poor lighting 2) strong smell of air freshener on some days 3) lack of control on air-con (it was stuffy and when the thermostat turned off the air-con fan, the room is ringing in silence)
Amazing breakfast. Super friendly and helpful staff and a perfect location in Trieste. Bathroom was immaculate and bed was comfy. You should stay here!
- Great Breakfasts - very comprehensive and included in the price. - Great ambience in the lobby lounge. They offered snacks there throughout the day and it was atmospheric with the fireplace during winter. - Great sized room with lots of space. - Soundproofed windows blocked street noise.
- some noise transfer between rooms (we had a noisy neighbour we had to ask to be quiet but that was the only issue. - we couldn't control the heating. We were there in winter but it was too hot and stuffy in the room.
Location - 5 minute walk from main attractions. Complimentary refreshments Friendliness of all staff
Layout of room. Not much space to move around the beds. Wardrobe doors opened against the beds.
the room 208 was appaling and run down sticky carpet- poor lighting - we were moved after one night to room 108. All rooms on 1st floor have been refurbished. The dining area is shabby and the breakfast was poor. we were not told that free tea and coffee was available and only found out on checking out! The heating was unbearably hot in common areas.
The breakfast and the staff were really great.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent location for access to tram for trip to Opicina! Worth the time and breath views over city and bay.
Location, friendly staff, fireplace, huge bed, good breakfast.
My only complaint was that the heating was a bit extreme and I found the pillow a bit hard.
From the moment we arrived until we left nothing was too much trouble. The room far exceeded expectations only surpassed by the excellent breakfast. Well worth the stay
Excellent access to public transport, walking distance to great food and historical sights. Comfy, older hotel with friendly staff. Excellent pizza places, a beer hall and the best gelato parlor within a block!
Having to leave Trieste.
Too much noisy room on the main street side of the hotel.
A very nice recently re-furbished hotel, close to train station, port, and about 5-10' walk into the centre of Trieste. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast was more than sufficient to start off your day.
The room, although nice and clean, is a bit small. But the bathroom was excellent.
The shower booth is as tight as cn be. Considering the ample bathroom, there would have been enough room to install a bigger shower. Contrary to what others' opinions were about the breakfasts, I found it at most mediocre: the pastry came from the freezer, there were no vegetables, the cold cuts were of the cheapest kind, only one type of cheese and the whole thing was a bit hard-scrabble.
The location is great, near the train station and with major bus lines right out front. Also a short walk to the city center and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and quiet, even though facing the square. Internet worked consistently well in the room.
Fireplace in breakfast/lounge area. Free tea/coffee at any time. Pleasant staff. We had no trouble with WIFI (login info is on desk in room-no need to ask for it). Quiet room. Spacious, clean bathroom. Few minutes' walk from train station, and walking distance to sights.
Old stained carpet on 2nd Floor, but you can see they are in midst of replacing (1st floor looks done).
great hotel, nothing bad to say
The staff, the ro, the view, the location
Location, nice staff, wonderful breakfast, room's decoration
Sometimes, we could hear the bit of the music from the caffee downstairs inside of the room.
Everything! Helpful staff, delicious breakfast.
Excellent location, easy orientation to all city's amenities. Beautiful room, the best value for money I ever experienced so far, fantastic details (fireplace, seats, ambiance in the dining area, but in the room as well, designed lamps in the room). Recently renovated, very good bathroom, excellent atmosphere.
Just the first impression of the building's exterior, but once entered the house, everything was really authentic and old, but functional and useful.
From the moment we arrived the staff could not be more helpful or friendly; nothing was too much trouble. The room was outstanding, large, comfortable and of a high standard- beyond our expectations. At breakfast there was a wide range of choice and quality products.
Nothing - everything was excellent
Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Super clean, great breakfast in a gorgeous setting and super friendly and helpful staff... I would definitely stay here again... easy walk from the station as well.
good location.free parking n from 20h till 8h near hotel
