Score from 366 reviews Excellent
The hotel is very well located in Monterosso. A beautiful rooftop garden offers a spectacular view over the town and of the water. It's also a great place to end your day with a bottle of wine and some snacks. The breakfast buffet is a feast! Fresh fruit, eggs, breads, cheeses, deli meat, juices and unlimited coffee. The staff is also very helpful.
The WiFi is weak in the rooms but okay in the lobby. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the train station but not too bad.
Location in the old section was great. Full breakfast included.
A bit overpriced for the quality of the room. Not all rooms with balcony have a view of the sea.
Roof garden was a real treat.
Good location, easy to find. Rooftop veranda beautiful
Extremely helpful staff. Nice rooms (we were moved after the first night to another room due to the availability when originally booking). Very pleased with location, and the terraced garden. Good breakfasts. Would definitely recommend.
The view the ease of access nice room friendly staff
No wifi availablle due to storms
The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was exceptional. There is a terraced garden in the back that is beautiful!
The staff was not very friendly. Bed was a little on the hard side.
The location was excellent, we had been in Italy for 2 weeks by the time we reached Albergo Degli Amici, they served bacon for breakfast!!! Don't get too excited though because it was pretty sketchy bacon. The room was fine, the location was fine, the roof top garden was wonderful, I was surprised that it was empty every night.
It was pricey, but not out of line for the location. I have no real dislikes...except they tried to cook bacon, the first couple of mornings it was very salty and thick, but ok. The last day it was almost raw, NOBODY was eating it.
Location was awesome! The staff was very helpful. The gardens and views are breath taking.
Liked everything. wonderful staff and lovely location, great views
Location and it was very clean and nice
staff was a bit hurried
Wifi and breakfast were included and location was great! Monterosso is the best village in cinque terre!
Hotel was very expensive for what was offered
The breakfast was good and the outside terrace was amazing, with 4 levels, including picnic benches & tables with great views over the town. There is even a ping pong table where we enjoyed a few rounds of table tennis.
Our room was "adequate"..very plain, small & dark with no frills. It made us want to stay ourdoors as much as possible. It seemed very tired, in need of some paint & remodelling considering the high price of the room. It is also a fair walk from the train station with a bit of an uphill stretch with stairs.
The rooms are small and old, towels were like sheets and the bed was not very good
Good location in the center of the old city
Old rooms and facilities Poor breakfast Not very welcoming staff
easy walking distance to beach and train station; It's not on the beach, but the views are phenomenal; the garden and views; large breakfast; some helpful staff; great location near many restaurants; fun atmosphere; good AC and wi-fi
The rooftop terrace was beautiful overlooking Monterosso.
Told the front desk we were checking out early, she told us were to leave the key but neglected to tell us the lift/elevator would not be working. Had to lug 3 suitcases down 4 flights of steps! Also had a problem with ants in the room/bathroom, need earplugs as you could hear everything in the next room. Over priced.
location, breakfast and staff
We had to get a new wi fi account number every 10 hours
Not in the thick of it but central in the old town. Very clean, nice garden area, extremely helpful staff on reception. We had a room with a balcony (don't expect views of any great sights) which made the room feel larger. Plenty of choice for breakfast with good choice of local restaurants.
No tea/coffee facilities in the room, but that's a minor negative.
We stayed at this place for just one night as we wanted to visit the area a little bit and go trekking from there. The hotel is located in the heart of the old town which means that restaurants, shops etc. are within walking distance. Breakfast was alright.
Extensive hot breakfast included and lovely roof top garden with sea view. Elevator and ac were also benefits not always found in this area. Easy to walk to from train with minimal uphill. Many great restaurants within a short walk.
Bedrooms were disappointingly tiny and very basic, similar to what one would expect in a 2 star, not 3 star, and no view from rooms, yet high season price was over 200 euro which seemed high for such rooms.
Albergo Degli Amici is perfectly located in the very cute section of Monterossa al Mare. The walk to the hotel was easy, convenient and only involved a few steps at the end. The staff provided us with a fabulous balcony room with a beautiful view of the Ligurian sea. Their terraced garden is a lovely place to sit and view the surroundings or play a little ping pong tennis. We would absolutely return again.
The accommodations in a village like cinque terre are simple, with small beds and thin walls. We requested two twin beds which worked out great.
Small and dirty bathroom Wifi non functional Not worth the price, especially for a low season period Old building No light coming from the balcony (facing the wall of the hotel)
Room and breakfast were great.
Wifi was inconsistent
The location was central to everything specially Angelo's Boat Tour which was the highlight of our trip. We had two couples so tool the two bedroom suite overlooking the sea. Beautiful.
Wifi was irritating. Needed to renter the pass code every time. Breakfast was very good but lady attending was a bit snippy..but obviously overworked. Had to wait for the coffee machine every time.
