Located within the medieval walls of Montepulciano, the 16th-century Albergo Il Marzocco is the oldest hotel in town.
Score from 202 reviews Very good
Offering beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside from an altitude of less than half a mile, the Hotel Panoramic features large grounds and orchard, and an outdoor pool with a hydro-massage area.

Set just a 10 minute walk from the historic center of Montepulciano, Albergo Il Rondò has its own pretty gardens and is surrounded by the vineyards and olive groves characteristic of Tuscany.

Staff was very congenial, helpful, and knowledgeable. Location easy walking distance to everything. Hotel and room beautiful. I would recommend.
Excellent value for money, excellent location with excellent staff (with just the one exception that spoilt the overall experience, unfortunately). The ability to park my car quite close to the hotel in a free car park was a facility well appreciated.
Just one staff member (I won't identify him/her) with a bit of an attitude and a chip on their shoulder spoilt an otherwise pleasant stay at this comfortable, value-for-money hotel. Unfortunately, because of the likelihood of having to deal with this one person again if I were to ever stay at Albergo Duomo, for this reason I probably shall not stay at this hotel again, even though I am a frequent visitor to Montepulciano and otherwise love this hotel. In fact, after staying at Albergo Duomo for two nights, I ended up deciding to stay an extra night in Montepulciano, but elected to change hotels rather than stay an extra night in Albergo Duomo … just because of this one person who is a distinct liability for this otherwise good-to-excellent hotel.
The hotel was is a lovely position near the central piazza - close walk to beautiful views of Tuscany. When we arrived, we were met by a friendly lady who instantly directed us to parking and helped us with our rooms, and other questions about the hotel and the region. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was worth the 5Euros, lots of options (especially as we were vegetarian) and fresh - and the hotel itself very quaint, the room a reasonable size (though not large) and comfortable.
Place had a 'dusty' feel about - it was beautiful and the rooms pleasant, but that it needed a bit of a once-over clean. Otherwise, highly recommend this hotel in all aspects.
Location Free private parking nearby Large room
Really lovely decor and furnishings especially common areas. Very nice breakfast. Helpful staff.
Location, friendly staff, value for money.
Nothing negative to add
Good location in the old city...staff was very friendly and helpful...a quaint hotel.
Central location (just about 50m to the main square), very helpful staff, great breakfast. It has its own parking lot.
absolutely notning, one of my best stays in italy
OMG! The view is absolutely wonderful. This hotel lived up to the pictures on the Internet, plus more! I could spend hours on my balcony or in bed with the doors wide open watching the boats or just listening to the waves crash on the rocks below while reading a book or napping. Swimming off the rocks was blissful. I highly recommend dining at Il Vicoletto, with charismatic Chef Antonio!! Molto bellissimo! Diego at the front desk was very helpful with any questions. Grazie! Can't wait to come back.
Keep in mind that he rooms are very small, which was not a issue for me at all. The view made me extremely happy!!
Very special place in the old town. Breakfast was good and wholesome with good coffee. The hotel has it's own beautiful restaurant in the same block, which is Michelin rated. We could see why and went there both nights of our stay. Very well priced with excellent food and wine, with outstanding service from professionals.
Every thing was great!
Perfect location, Nice breakfast, Elevator, Helpful receptionists, Large bathroom, Easy and free parking outside the city walls with hotel permission
Lots of mosquitos - lack of mosquito protector on windows, Matress a bit too soft
Location. Friendly en very helpfull staff.
The location is excellent, the room was spotless, and even though I had a room on the stretch it was very quiet. The staff were also very helpful.
The building is very echo - and the locks are very loud (sounds strange?!)...but they do make a lot of noise. I would still stay there again though.
Very helpful and friendly staff, lovely room and fantastic location.
Staff was nice enough to permit a date modification at the last minute.
Not a bad stay but not worth the price. Place is old and has not been maintained. Needs a good painting job!
Lovely view from our superior room. Large bed. Breakfast the best we had in Italy. Great location.
I can only recommend this place that gave a lot of charm to the overall stay in Montepulciano. Location was excellent, in the middle of the city. Special spot for the car which makes the life much easier in the tiny roads city centre. Even we stayed just for one night the staff was very friendly. Wi-fi worked well all over the hotel.
Simply everything was perfect.
Our room was large on the top floor (3rd I think), with a nice view of the area. I didn't want to leave the room but there was a concert nearby so we enjoyed great music and slept in the next day.
- Great staff, very helpful - Rooms are spacious and clean
Location,friendly and helpful staff,clean hotel.
Asked for a double room with a double bed, but got a double room with twin beds put together, it was not very comfortable.
Nice little hotel right in the center of town. Pefect for a night or two.
Room a bit small. Cleaning could have been little better.
Very helpful stAff. Right in the middle of town. Parking available at no extra cost. Room spotless and comfortable
Very clean, excellent staff, great breakfast, wifi worked, high ceilings, big rooms and perfect location (very close to city center).
