It was a unique experience to stay at this very old building. Staff was great, excellent location. We received special permit to park within the city walls. Very helpful staff. Family run family feeling. Keep it up.
Room with balcony and panoramic views. Good location for exploring the historic old town.
The rooms are very nice and the beds are comfortable. We found a great new restaurant nearby called ristorante Bourgogne buip. We highly recommend.
The staff didn't speak English at all and wasn't able to offer assistance. Be prepared to Carry your luggage up many flors,
The most welcoming but relaxed family hotel. We have been to Montepulciano several times and wouldn't stay anywhere else! Fabulous, authentic, personable, relaxed and wonderful views

Very friendly and helpful staff, particularly with helping us to get a parking spot on a really busy day in Montepulciano - much appreciated! The hotel itself is classically decorated, but there are a few unexpected things like a billiard table in one of the reception rooms! Absolutely lovely view from the balcony across to Lake Trasimeno. The room was cool and comfortable; the bathroom was large with a good shower. Breakfast was lovely - choice of eggs, clearly freshly-squeezed orange juice and a nice selection of cereal and pastries with good quality Italian coffee. Wifi good - fast and strong signal. Location is right in the middle of the town so it's a good base for exploring. Definitely recommended for a stay in Montepulciano.
Not a comment on the hotel itself but access was a bit tight through the lanes of Montepulciano - glad we were in a reasonably small Fiat and nothing bigger!
Great location with parking available within the city walls. Comfy room with TV, wifi, shower and great full Euro breakfast with choice of style of egg. Room was quiet and dark at night. Toiletries and blow drier included in room.
Only a fan, no A/C in room.
Lovely woman running the place. We had to catch an early train, leaving before breakfast on our last day. The proprietor left a thermos of coffee and pastries for us before we left. So kind and thoughtful. Loved this place, wished we could have stayed longer.
Room was clean. Good breakfast. Montepulciano is a great town. Be sure to see the copper-smith shop and especially his workshop. And we highly recommend Osteria Aquachetta for the best Florentine style steak ever. Get reservations
This hotel needs serious updating. Our room, while spacious, was outfitted with the most uncomfortable almost institutional beds available. We felt like hostlers. Luckily we only had one night here. We will stay someplace else next time.
The owner is a lovely person. The breakfast is perfect. The room we had was outstanding (for the second time) and the location cannot be better.
We did not like to leave.
Central, clean, excellent value . Garage to store bikes so very good for cycle touring. Large family room and en suite . Really fast wifi.
The room was meant to have air con but it was only in one little alcove with one of the single beds in it , so the rest of the room doesn't benefit .
this was just inside the wall but there is parking available in front of hotel with permit in car window(provided by hotel)short walk from loading zone outside traffic limited zone. The view from room 32 is spectacular
excellent location. ease of parking- behind hotel in middle of village) very welcoming and genuinely friendly staff. great view from terrace. very good breakfast
the hotel is " tired" and badly in need of refurbishment. many people comment on the lovely quaintness of this place and maybe for a lot of people this tiredness is a feature. however for us it was like stepping back in time to a hotel 30 years old - and showing it. ( bedlinen, towels and mattresses inc) this hotel does get great reviews so maybe i am the odd one out here , but at least travellers are now informed.
Perfect location in old town! Managers / Owners very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast! Wonderful view over Tuscany from the Room.
Nice staff, fine location quite close to the bus station, big room with a terrace and a fantastic view. Very good breakfast.
There was no lift and our room was on the third floor.
Beautiful site, good staff, good breakfast, parking available.
The lady owner was always very helpful and when the parking spaces in front of the hotel were all taken up she was happy to move her own car so we could get into the small courtyard at the side of the hotel. The staff at breakfast offered to make fresh juice and cook eggs every morning. The hotel is quite old so has a lot of character and the rooms are large and spacious.
The hotel takes you back several decades, very atmospheric. It feels like staying in an old stately home.
We were made very welcome and had a room with an amazing view out across the valley, Breakfast was good, fresh eggs and coffee made to order. Location great and we found some lovely little restaurants in the town. Parking on site, with a permit, was very helpful.
We have stayed here several times, and we always have been well pleased. The breakfast is superior, the Wifi is reliable, and there are good restaurants very close by -- La Briciola right across the street. The staff was pleasant, engaging and helpful. The lady of the house, who has overseen her Albergo for decades, is absolutely charming. She recommended to see out of way medieval villages (few tourists) between Montepulciano and Montalcino. That drive was a highlight. We look forward to another stay here that we wholeheartedly recommend !
We liked it all! I recommend it without any hesitation .
The hotel parking is just in front of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the room spacious and comfortable.
The room smelt of cooking when we arrived.
We got a very warm welcome from staff at Il Marzocco. Set inside the walls of Montepulciano, the hotel has lots of character. We had a quiet, spacious room that opened onto a terrace with views all the way to Lake Trasimeno. The breakfast was really good: scrambled eggs, real coffee and freshly squeezed juice. Highly recommended!
Perfect view! I loved this hotel. Ill come back.
Great location & friendly staff. Very much a Mom & Pop place. Very old, has been under same ownership for a century! Breakfast was included & great. Had some modern appliances, bathroom/tv wasn't bad. Had a mini fridge. Beautiful terrace outside our room, beautiful view. Had our own parking spot right outside.
