I stayed with lake view room. It was very nice. My room is quite small but my friend' s room is big enough. Better choose big room . This hotel is nice and worth of value. The location is near to the center town.

It's in a perfect location and is extremely comfortable. The rooms are very clean and have a good view of the Lake.

Everything! The location right on the shore of Lake Como with a balcony facing the lake was incredible. Casa Rossa was a beautifully renovated older building. The room was spacious, clean and bright. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was substantial and tasty. The restaurant was magnificent (we ate dinner there).

Apparently there is no air conditioning, but in October this was not an issue for us.

The setting was beautiful! Our room looked out over Lake Como and the Alps. We loved the Restaurant breakfast terrace and that the breakfast was included.

The room was quite small. We wish there was complimentary internet for the guest rooms.

Location is amazing, with lake-view room offering panoramic view across the water, from our balcony. Close to restaurants, water taxi, "beach", and only a 10min walk along the water to the ferry. Room was only recently renovated and feels clean and modern, with very nice new bathroom and double-glazed windows throughout, while maintaining the charm of local buildings. Wifi is available in rooms (at a cost). Overall, we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel and feel like it was good value for money.

Aircon would definitely be a nice addition for Summer months. Even though it does cool down at night, there was not much breeze and hard to get airflow through the rooms. Lots of stairs in the "Casa Rossa" annex where our Lake-View room was located, so would recommend travelling light, as you'll be carrying everything up and down yourself! Balcony was semi-shared with room next door, so not very private. We found staff to be a bit hit & miss, with most being helpful, but others less so.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with information. The location (other than the steps- which is not unusual in Varenna) is very convenient to the taxi boat, the ferrys, restuarants and shops, but is not very easy to reach. Their restuarant, The Vista, not only has a lovely lakeview location, but had very good food and service as well.

The room we stayed in was a lakefront room in Casa Rosa and was the tiniest hotel room we have ever stayed in. I don't know if this is typical of Varenna hotel rooms or not. We had a difficult time finding room to open our luggage and the room did not have air conditioning (just a ceiling fan). The website and descriptions of the hotel do not accurately describe how challenging this hotel can be to reach with luggage or that they do not employ a porter to help guests with carring luggage up very difficult to navigate deteriorating outdoor steps and steep indoor steps. A little direction from the train station on the website and recommendation to take a taxi part of the way from the train station, would have been very helpful. Better signage would also help at key intersections and from the waterfront pathway. Having said that, we were initially led astray by an elderly local (that perhaps doesn't care for tourists) that sent us all the way to the waterfront from the train station as the most expedient way to reach the hotel (NOT!). When we finally reached the bottom of the steps and realized we had to carry our 50 lb. suitcases as well as our carry on bags up all the uneven steps to reach the hotel - I'm not sure we would have made it without the extreme kindness of the nearby Taxi Boat owner that saw the distress and exhaustion on our faces and carried our heaviest bags up the steps for us. Had we known this in advance, we would have repacked our carryons and stored our heavy luggage at the train station in Milan. BTW - Highly recommend the sunset taxi boat villa tour. Was a lovely tour with great appertivos and entertaining commentary.

The staff and accommodations were exceptional. The rooms with a view of the lake were amazing. Dinner available at a lake side patio had gourmet quality. Overall experience was romantic and relaxed.

The Albergo Milano has a lot going for it - it is is in a smaller Lake Como village and the main highway bypasses it making it quieter. It is right on the lakeside and has very friendly and helpful staff. Do dine at their restaurant as the food is wonderful and the wine list is the result of somebody who really loves wine. It also has a prime location looking over the lake it

It didn't worry us but you park your car outside of the small village and then trundle your suitcase in. Just something to know in advance. The rooms are small but then the houses are as well, snuggling the hills that rise up steeply from Lake Como.

Trovare la struttura e' stato abbastanza complicato,non un cartello col nome del l'albero che indicasse la posizione...abbiamo dovuto chiedere in giro

Понравилось все. Жили в номере otto (здесь, на букинге называется - номер с частичным видом на озеро) на верхнем этаже. Очень хорошее отопление.

L'hotel est très bien situé à Varenna. Beaucoup de charme pr ce petit hotel. La chambre vue sur lac est top avec un magnifique panorama et un petit balcon très sympa oú l'on peut profiter de la vue et de l'animation des bars et restos. Beaucoup de charme et de tranquilité sans nuisance de la route. Petit-déjeuner complet ds le restaurant avec terrasse et vue magnifique. De quoi bien démarrer la journée!

Dans l'annexe, Chambre petite (grosse valise s'abstenir) et le mini-bar près du lit qui fait un peu de bruit lorsqu'il s'allume pdt la nuit.

Le personnel est très accueillant! Notre chambre était parfaite, avec une vue superbe sur le lac. Petit déjeuner très agreable avec vue sur le lac.

dass es keinen Kühlschrank im Zimmer gab, eine Minibar aber vorhanden war. Warmer Sekt ist nun mal nicht gut.

Extrem enge uns steile Stiegen zum und im Haus, was den Gepäcktransport sehr beschwerlich macht. Die Zimmer waren extrem klein. Das Frühstück war unterdurchschnittlich mit wirklich schlechtem Kaffee, der nicht frisch war sondern in einem Samowar warmgehalten wurde und dementsprechend schmeckte.

Trés bel endroit à conseiller pour sa beauté, son calme et son charme avec vue imprenable sur le lac. Attention toutefois à l'absence d'ascenceur et aux nombreuses marches à gravir dans l'hotel et dans le village partiellement inaccessible aux voitures.

Nous étions dans une annexe de l'hôtel, il y avait 35 marches à monter pour aller à notre chambre ; Ce serait bien que l'hôtel le signale car cela peut être un problème pour certaines personnes. Par contre, le bâtiment a été refait à neuf ! La chambre était jolie (un peu petite) avec des têtes de lit anciennes qui faisait le charme de la chambre. La salle de bain, belle également avec un gel douche et savonnettes de qualité.Et un joli linge de lit tout blanc ! Mais la merveille, c'était la vue sur le lac ! magnifique ! Nous n'avons pas trop souffert de la chaleur grâce à un ventilateur au plafond. Une seule remarque, nous avions un train à prendre le lendemain matin. Le petit déjeuner n'était disponible qu'à 7h50. (Normalement, 8h). Nous n'avons pas pu apprécier ce dernier qui avait l'air pourtant bien bon.

В основном здании номера понравились меньше. Маленькие очень. Пожалели, что решили поужинать в ресторане при отеле - безумно долго. Забронировали стол за месяц, пришлось ждать полчаса, потом заказ несли больше часа. Вкусно, но ожидание и маленькие порции отбивают желание здесь ужинать.

La ubicación del hotel es excelente y el pueblo donde esta situado, Varenna, es tranquilo y acogedor. Las vistas al Lago de Como son excepcionales. El personal, en particular la persona que estaba en recepción -probablemente la gerente o dueña del hotel- fue muy amable y servicial.

La relación calidad-precio del hotel es pésima pues no se justifica el precio tan sólo con las magníficas vistas al lago que tiene. La habitación, situada en un edificio cercano al hotel, era muy pequeña. Además, el desayuno qute ofrecen es escaso, con muy pocas cosas a elegir y con excesivo rigor horario, de tal modo que comienzan a retirar las cosas en el momento mismo en que finaliza el horario de servicio, dejando a los clientes que hayan llegado a última hora sin poder disfrutar de un servicio por el que han pagado. De hecho, pudimos desayunar con dificultad tras protestar a la dirección del hotel por el mal servicio ofrecido y por la actitud de una empleada que comenzó a retirar todo antes de que los clientes abandonaran el lugar de desayuno aún habiendo llegado dentro del horario estipulado.

Nous étions dans l'annexe Casa Rossa située à quelques maisons de l'hôtel, nous avons déploré l'exiguïté de la chambre (environ 15 m2 pour la chambre et la salle d'eau), il est impossible d'ouvrir une valise! Le bruit des chambres voisines (heureusement assez discrets) Un petit déjeuner pas convivial et très moyen. Un prix excessif vu la prestation,l'accueil peu chaleureux.
