Albergo Miramare  

It was a beautiful hotel, with a great location. I had a feeling that I was staying somewhere important with the beautiful grand entrance and nice sea view from my room.

A fascinating hotel steeped in history makes it a unique place to stay, and the location is to die for! If only we could bottle the sound of lapping waves and the wind in the trees and bring that home.

The town of Castiglioncello itself is a little lacking compared to other towns in Tuscany, but this should not be a major drawback to any seasoned traveller.

I had such a positive experience here--the Miramare is literally steps away from the beach (which is breathtaking), as well as "next door" to a park that Italians flock to after 9pm in August--it was the happening place for all the families to be. My room was sparsely decorated but so tasteful--the bed was comfortable, the furnishings thoughtful, the breakfast delicious, and the front desk was run by such friendly individuals. The hotel has been there since the early 20th century, and they've preserved so much of the charm. They also have a wine bar outside (more a wine terrace) that gives you a lovely view of the water. The energy in Castiglioncello is relaxed, friendly, and almost lazily peaceful. Even though the room wasn't the fanciest I've been in during my Italy travels, the atmosphere alone was enough to ensure I will return next time I'm in Tuscany. The longer you stay there, the more it charms you. On a more practical note, I was a single American woman traveling alone, and the town was so family-focused, so I felt safe and welcome. This is where Italians come to vacation in August, so they are there to chill out, not to party. That's important to note.

Lack of air conditioning made it difficult to tolerate the heat, but in the evenings I loved having the huge windows open all night--it was cool and I could see the stars from my bed. But that's so common in Italy it isn't really fair to complain.

Faded glory. Nice hotel in great surroundings with a lovely outlook to the bay. Spend some time on the beach past the town, bring a sun umbrella for the free part (as the sunbeds are 30 euro's a go and they are all pre-reserved), and you've got a decent family break for a couple of days when travelling through Italy.

Noisy lift, no bath, shower a bit cramped.

Very polite and pleasant employees-:) The hotel is 100 years old in these days, and they seem to be heading for another 100 years due to high quality, nice surroundings and professionality in every step-:)

I loved the location and to wake up to the sea breeze! The staff was very kind and helpful and the room was big and relatively clean. Castiglioncello as such was lovely!

The wardrobes and cupboards need to be freshen up!

No air condition, no wifi. Very dated. But with an interesting history and a certain charm.

When you arrive on a warm day, the arrival at Miramare is like a sweet dream: directly at the sea, a beautiful building maintained in a perfect state; a nice garden with terrases all around and most of all: a very friendly and helpfull staff. The builing is from 1912 and one feels oneself as acting in a classic movie: huge and beautifully decorated corridors, dining rooms and saloons. It all breathes a tradition for welcoming people, for making sure that they will have a good time and for upholding the high standards of hospitality that its founder, Mr de Monti, ever created.

La posizione dell'albergo è ottima, nel centro di castiglioncello e a picco sul mare, bello il giardino e l'edificio, albergo pulito e stanza grande con vista mare, personale cortese e sempre con il sorriso, ci hanno fatto lasciare le valigie nella stanza oltre le 13 perchè eravamo fuori stagione. voto 10 allo staff

La stanza seppur grande è poco confortevole e fredda (31 marzo) la doccia e gli impianti del bagno sono ottimi per gli anni 50, difficile regolare la temperatura, asciugamani piccoli e niente asciugacapelli. la colazione è scarna. per il prezzo pagato ci aspettavamo di più

Albergo fantastico, molto disponibili alla reception per qualsiasi esigenza. Colazione buona ed abbondante. Il posto è stupendo; la camera aveva una vista mare unica. comodo anche per famiglia con bambini per il giardino esterno.

tutto l'albergo ma in particolare la terrazza fuori dove si faceva un buonissimo aperitivo....

Sì,ma è una cosa che ha soluzione..............L"albergo deve studiare una strategia o soluzione provisoria quando ci sono ondate di caldo troppo evidenti,si soffre veramente senza aria condizionata.Capisco che l"albergo vuole conservare quell"aria romantica di un tempo che personalmente mi è piaciuta,ma quando fa caldo bisogna cercare una soluzione per i clienti.

L'albergo è situato in un'ottima location sul mare, ottimo lo staff, da segnalare l'ottimo servizio di pulizia delle camere, ogni giorno lenzuola e asciugamani puliti.

La camera era privilegiata perché offriva un affaccio su due fronti e una vista spettacolare. Accesso diretto al lugomare e alla spiaggia. Staff cordiale e disponibile.

Mobilio decisamente vetusto. l'asciugacapelli e il telecomando per la tv sono forniti solo in base alla disponibilità. Per la colazione la frutta era a volte "troppo matura" direi quasi impresentabile.

Posizione ottima, ambiente rilassante, cortesia servizio e prezzo.

La colazione è approssimativa e non di buona qualità.

L'hôtel est facile d'accès et dispose d'un parking gratuit. Les jardins de l'hôtel sont bien entretenus et donnent sur un petit port.

La vue des chambres donne sur un ensemble industriel qui est sur l'autre rive du golfe et doit être à une dizaine de kilomètres à vol d'oiseau (usines et centrales électriques). Cette vue n'apparaît malheureusement pas sur les photos et permettrait de fournir une information complète aux personnes souhaitant séjournées dans l'hôtel. L'hôtel mériterait un petit rafraichissement et un aménagement des chambres les rendant moins austères.

Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter an der Reception. Historisches Hotel mit Flair. Pinienhain vor dem Haus von dem aus immer ein herrlicher Pinienduft in der Luft liegt!

Das Hotel besitzt keinen Strand und die anderen sind sehr überteuert (30 Euro für einen Sonnenschirm und zwei Liegen im Juli). Es sind keine langen Strandspaziergänge möglich auf Grund der Klippen.

La cortesia dello staff, la pulizia della stanza, la posizione dell'albergo e le ottime cene preparate dallo Chef. La colazione era buona, abbondante e di ottima qualità. Atmosfera molto retrò, elegante e artistica giusta per gli amanti del genere: da provare!

L'unico neo della stanza era la televisione: piccola.

Ce que j'ai aimé à l'hôtel Miramare : la gentillesse du personnel, la propreté, la proximité de la mer, le calme tout en étant à deux pas du centre animé de Castiglioncello, les jardins, l'architecture, le petit déjeuner bien garni, ... bref une douceur de vivre toscane qui m'a plu énormément. J'y retournerai surement

In rapporto alla sua storia ed allo charme che a prima vista trasmette, la struttura è gestita in maniera mediocre, con arredi e organizzazione veramente pessimi. Un albergo di questo fascino meriterebbe di essere valorizzato meglio. Peccato, perché la posizione lo stile e la classe del posto sono incantevoli.
