Hotel Grotto Bagat is located on the shores of Lake Lugano, on the road to Brusimpiano. All rooms are spacious and some offer lake views. The restaurant serves local cuisine.

L'Angolo dei Pescatori is on the coast of the small fishing village of Cerro di Laveno. From the on-site restaurant you will have views of Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands.
Score from 76 reviews Very good
Featuring a garden with a pool and views of Lake Lugano, Dependence del Parco is located on the lake shore and has a private beach. Lugano in Switzerland is 12 km away.

Built in the 18th century, Grotto Flora is a Patrician house in Bigogno d'Agra.
Score from 150 reviews Very good
fantastic view over (the west end of) Lago di Lugano; good breakfast and good restaurant - many locals come (also across the Swiss border) for dinner; very quiet - at least outside the high season
very tiny TV with ugly sound; bumpy access road (even from the Varese side);
Amazing and caring people, nice food and relaxing environment. Quite surprising that it's only a two stars hotel!
The view is nothing but amazing! One can spend the entire day at the balcony just enjoying the view of the mountains and the lake.
The rooms look like they havnt been upgraded is the 70' but not in the "retro" way... Same goes for the restaurant and pool area. But who really cares with that view!?
The location was a one off ,perched on top of the hillside overlooking the lake and mountain. Now for the food , I've eaten well in the past but this was exceptional as was the service . It was an extended family run business and it showed due to how attentive they all were.
Unfortunately we have an extremely long car and although I had heard in advance about the road up to the hotel wasn't expecting such an incline . The room was basic but adequate. We shall certainly go back and recommend to friends
Very friendly staff. Hard to say if it is positive or not for everybody but getting to the hotel by car is quite challenging. The food in restaurant was really very good. Beautiful view from the restaurant.
Our room did not have a lake view.
Good value for money Great view over the lake while dining
Staff does not speak english very well
Perfect view from balcony, pool and restaurant. Very good restaurant and menu for a family with children - friendly service and reasonable prices. Breakfast was fair and sufficient with fresh croisants but not overwhelming. Friendly and hardworking staff. Clean room - though it was not very big and not luxurious. Right outside the restaurant is an old and very charming little italian mountain village with church and tiny square - perfect for an evening stroll. We would go here again!
All, nice town without tourists.authentic italian town up a mountain.
Tough Drive up the hill all the way first time then i got use to it. Hotel room very basic but good value
Tiny and dark room with a view to a stone wall... The breakfast was poor and the staff doesn't speak any foreign language only Italian...
nice location and good view from the restaurant. Dinner is also popular here and the kitchen is ok.
its an old place and not well maintained. Family room is a normal room plus a bunk bed but charged at a very high rate. Breakfast is minimal and only when asked you get extra like an omelette. Staff is ok.Use this hotel for a quick stayover when travelling further into Italy
The view from the restaurant and swimming pool on the roof is just amazing, great food: breakfast and pizza wine in the restaurant, nice staff
a bit noisy in the mornings
It's in an excellent location, with stunning views from your bedroom and the restaurant over Lake Lugano. Due to it's location, it's very peaceful. There is free wi-fi.
As previous reviewers have stated, it is actually in Viconago. It's near the top of a long steep winding road, but the hotel is signposted. If you have a sat nav, set the address for Via Stampa, Viconago.
The drive uphill is awarded with a great view; both from the restaurant and the family room that we had. The place was very family friendly and the staff amicable during a brief thunderstorm that just amplified the great view. 3 out of 4 of us though the food was excellent quality and value.
The family room was quite basic - but adequate and the balcony with a view made up for the relative smallness of the room.
Incredible views. Excellent food
Great views, high over lake Lugano!! Staff are friendly and food is good, many people visit here just to dine. Very good value considering the location.
location, location, location. View of the lake in front of you from both the balcony, the restaurant as well as the terrace. Fantastic! Very nice hosts and great service.
Stunning views from terrace, good parking, excellent food during dinner
Complicated road to reach the hotel and possibility to use WI-FI, poor English
- the view from the hotel is simply amazing. - breakfast was simple but perfectly
- kinda hard to find and traveling there without a car is simply impossible
