Hotel SagittarioVia Giovanni Randaccio 6, 35129 Padova (Show map) Excellent, Score from 149 reviews“Extremely helpful.I was very late arriving - 1.15am, and very tired after driving from Genova but they were waiting and I slept like a baby. Breakfast was very varied and the coffee was delicious. They even telephoned the ferry terminal in Venice to be sure that it was easy for me to find and gave me full directions to and from the hotel to the autostrada, important since the exit has recently been changed. I will stay again.”

Great staff, comfortable and modern rooms on the newly constructed wings. Easy to travel around by train (5 mins walk from train station). Location of the hotel is far from city centre. Only problem. Much easier if you have a rental car!

Spacious and clean rooms, friendly staff, and an excellent breakfast buffet. Close to the highway (autostrada). Quite far removed from the Padova city center.

Absolutely wonderful staff, so accommodating and helpful. Cannot say enough good things about them! Wonderful breakfast as well. To get there from Venice, take the train (not the bus, it takes 1.5hrs instead of the 25-35 minutes on the train!) to Padova (Padua). You can catch the train from both Venice S.L. and Mestre and it runs every 15min or so which is nice. Then, once you arrive in Padova at the train station, exit the station and go right (west) towards the bridge that crosses over the train tracks. You want to get to the bridge road (Cavalcavia Borgomagno), and just at the bottom of the bridge on the side you're on you'll see a bus stop (don't cross that street). Catch bus 22 there. Be sure you bought bus tickets at the train station (just outside, at the hut where all the other buses are - they are €1.20 each for 75 minutes of bus riding). You want to catch the bus in the direction of Torre, not Garcia or Man-something. Stay on the bus for quite a long time, eventually you'll get more in to the countryside and eventually hit a roundabout with a modern-looking coop grocery store in front of you, the bus will go left from there and you want the next stop. Probably best bet is to ask the driver and he'll have to look it up, but then will hopefully know the correct stop. Might not be a bad idea to catch a taxi to the hotel the first night (€15 hotel staff estimated) and then use the bus after that. It takes about 1-1.5 hours to reach Venice via public transit (bus, train). Padua (Padova) is a wonderful city to explore on it's own and only takes 15min to reach by bus so very easy. Just be prepared to spend some time doing transit each day, and the bus stops running around 8pm so late-night Venice would require a taxi in Padua (after the train) to get home (only €15 probably). Rooms were rather stark white and lacked personality.

We enjoyed the whole experience very much. The staff was great! Very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and very modern. It was quiet warm while we were there and the air conditioning was wonderful. But the best surprise was the bathroom! We fell in love with the rainshower. The bathroom was very large, the shower was big enough for three people. The sink was nice and large. We were very impressed with the whole room. Breakfast was good, lots of variety. Lots of parking out front. The hotel was difficult to find.

The hotel staff was really helpful in explaining us the nicest things to visit, giving us way descriptions, selling us train and bus tickets, booking restaurants for us etc. A few employees speak French and all of them speak English. The buffet breakfast was very good and good quantities of food, therefore we didn't need to have lunch! the rooms would need to be re-painted, but we appreciated the very large bed (2 x 1.90 meters !). A bit far from the city center. there is a bus to town very close but not late in the evening.

Very clean and well kept. It is set in a residential road, out of town. Extremely helpful and kind staff. Its a bus ride into Padua but buses are steps from the door of the hotel. There is a renovation project on-going to extend the bar and dining room which at the moment is small and tired. Breakfast is taken in the hotel but there is no restaurant, you have to step across the road to a separate restaurant building for dinner . When we stayed the restaurant was closed Sunday/Monday so we had to eat at a nearby pizzeria, restaurant which was very good. Most guests came by car as the hotel is near to the motorway exit, free parking available. Brush up on your basic Italian, we found very few people who could speak any English at all. Padua is thankfully not full of tourists & tatty shops like its Venetian neighbour.
