Hotel Alla Fava overlooks a small Venetian canal and a quiet square, just 330 yards from Rialto Bridge. It has rooms with private bathrooms with air conditioning and satellite TV.
Score from 382 reviews Very good
Enjoy clean rooms, a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and a central location at Hotel Paganelli, which is within easy walking distance of the Bridge of Sighs and Saint Mark’s Square.

The Locanda Poste Vecie is next to the open-air fish market and near Rialto Bridge and Saint Mark's Square. The rooms are furnished in an 18th-century Venetian style. Wi-Fi is free.

A great location. Central to all attractions and just a 150m walk from San Samuele Vaporetto wharf. The staff went out of their way the help us with a late departure, allowing us to leave our bags and change before leaving. Thanks Tatiana and the rest of the staff.
A tiny amount of noise from the nearby restaurant early in the evenings. It didn't affect my sleep and I would stay there again.
Close to town, close to vaporetto stop, nice and helpful hosts, clean room.
No tv, no air, no fan in bathroom, little on the expensive side i think.
The location of Albergo San Samuelle is in a fairly wide, quiet street. Close to two Vaporetto stops and in a pleasant area close to several bars and restaurants. The staff are very helpful and speak English. Their best room, though dark and at the rear of the Albergo, has a king size bed and is worth booking. Good en suites, all very clean and with good daily servicing. Coffee can be had and there is a table for eating food purchased elsewhere.
Lots of steps. No outlook from the rear rooms. Beware! the economy room is just that. It has a small double and very little circulation space, and a 'tired' mattress. The office is not manned from 8pm to 8am. Very much a house with rooms, lacking a homely feeling.
Good location, nice comfy room. Decent value for money
Only small fan to keep cool in room.
It's within easy access from the water taxis and other major attractions. It's on a quiet part of town. Treat this as a place to spend the night and nothing else
I don't know if all hotels in Venice are like that or this one was very old, no air condition, smell like cheese. But the staff are kind and friendly . and I told them that we are on our honeymoon and they give us a room with bathroom otherwise the rooms do not have bathroom. Its a old building and not a classy and not nice.
No air condition, smells funny , very old building , shared bathroom
Staff were friendly and helpful Location is ideal, close to Vaporetto Room was spacious, clean and had a lovely outlook Felt secure Wifi was good Bed was comfortable There was a communal fridge and coffee maker Made our Venice experience easier, more relaxing and better overall
Hotel is just beside the vapuretto stop San Samuele, you can easly reach hotel from there. If you choose to walk, run the risk of getting lost. Hotel is an old house and has enough comfort. Room and toilet was very clean and full equipment. Staff was really friendly and gave us a lot of information about the city. Hotel is almost in the middle of Venezia and because of Venezia is a little city it was always easy to go anywhere. If you want to get a vapuretto, the stop is at the end of the street, you can arrive in 2 min. by walking.
Only thing hotel is not have a big signboard. This is not a big point actually but maybe they can put a board to make everybody finds it easly.
Not an italian (venician) staff Small room Weak wifi No elevator Long broken stairs No staff to help in the bagages No safe box No AC No TV No breakfast
The location of this hotel was perfect, just a few minutes walk to lots of the main attractions. It was also a really attractive hotel, very authentic Venetian in style and great value for money. Tatiana was very helpful in showing us where we should go to eat and visit.
The pillows were quite hard if you're used to much softer pillows! But this isn't a massive complaint, just an observation really.
location, kind staff
We loved the convenient location as well as the people who ran the hotel. They were so helpful and kind. The coffee service in the morning was nice and the facilities quaint.
The staff are really friendly! They took the time to explain the best places to visit, eat, walk etc, and organised a gondola trip for us which was one of our highlights during our time in Venice! Plus the beds are really comfy, and the street is so quite, it really felt like a home from home :-)
Clean, minimalist but comfortable and modern value priced accommodations in the heart of Venice, but hidden away from the tourist traffic. Good sized room, beds, and bathroom. Helpful staff and easy check in and check out.
No air conditioning, but the hotel stayed much cooler than the outside air. If it gets over 36 outside, however, it might feel uncomfortable inside. No views (from our room anyways... don't know if other rooms had worthwhile views). A little difficult to find without google maps... but that's pretty true about almost any place in the labyrinth that is Venice.
Good room view (facing quite street) Clean Good value for Money
Can't access the fridge when reception is closed
The hotel is situated very close to the major attractions, armed with a map it's in a great location. The room is tidied daily and the staff are extremely helpful in person and via email. The hotel is very clean and my room had a lovely view of a Venetian street.
As the hotel is small, you tend to hear people opening and closing their doors quite a lot. There was some work getting done to the path outside the hotel which also made it very noisy one morning.
Great location for all aspects of experiencing and seeing the heart of Venice
Room facilities could be improved with hot water kettle.
Our host was very helpful and considerate even though she did not speak English nor us Italian. Location was quiet and close to vaporetti stop. Pleasent 10 minute walk to San Marco
The closeness to the vaporetta stop, the friendly staff.
The noisiness of the location - across from a tavern. The fact that there was no lift and luggage had to be lugged up a steep flight of stairs. The fact that there was no breakfast included in the price.
The location is fantastic, easy to reach by foot and by boat, close to the main place, Piazza San Marco. Typical Venetian place, built to remain cool when the temperatures are hot outside. Lovely inside and very affordable for a central location. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, sending me maps and public transport information to find them easily from the airport to Venice. They waited until midnight for us to arrive.
Nothing to dislike. The hotel is very small, but being Venice you would expect it to be. If you are after high comfort of air con (we had a ventilator in the room and were fine even with above 30C temperatures), large bathrooms and very spacious rooms, you may want to avoid this typical Venitian treasure.
Very central to get around Venice loved every minute plenty to do and see.
Sujan was so friendly and helpful - especially with regards to leaving my bag at the hostel post-check out and also helping me find somewhere else to stay when my onward travel arrangements fell through. Now that's what you call good service!
Everything was just perfect! The welcoming of the staff was really enthusiastic, they were very friendly and helpful for giving tips of all the sightseeing, things to do, where to eat (non-expensive places) Our room was very clean, cozy and cute with flowers in the window :) It´s has an excelent location too, within a walking distance of all the main tourist attractions!Strongly recomend the Albergo!!
Good size room, very clean, staff were very friendly and had a lot of information to share. Did not use, but the shared bathroom was also very clean and other guests using it did not make noise
Around 7 minutes to St. Marcs, depending on how good your map reading skills are, was quite noisy in the morning, so if you are looking for somewhere to get a lie in, this is not for you
Loved Albergo San Samuele. Centrally and ideally located. An easy walk with baggage from the Grand Canal. They kindly let us leave all our 8 bags there all day on our final day in Venice.
Nothing not liked - just sorry that we had to leave after only 2 days.
