Very helpful staff
Very helpful staff, perfect location, Internet, nice common area with coffee and fridge. Lovey remodeled bath (en suite) & lots of hot water. Very charming, clean and quiet. Great neighborhood with bistros, shops & galleries.
Stairs. Fine for us, but would not be good for those with mobility issues.
I actually do not know what to expect as I do not travel in Europe that often. This is an Inn more than a hotel. The facilities are very basic. No TV, no air cond. If you are looking for a clean place to stay and sleep, then there is nothing wrong with this inn. The hotel staff are quite helpful and speaks fairly good English. The best about this inn is its location, less than 2 minutes from the waterbus stop, about 10 minutes walk to St. Marco square.
This inn has no elevator and is situation on an upper floor. If you have heavy luggage, then be prepared to haul the luggage up 35 flights of stair, this is not an easy task. There is a restaurant/bar close by. Clients tends to like to chat in the alley till late at night. If your room is facing the alley, the noise would come through even if you close the windows. So be aware.
Price and location
Hard bed and pillows. The hotel was closed when we got there, in spite of the fact that they said someone would be there. We called when our flight was delayed and they said no problem, but when we got there no one answered the door bell or phone. Phone was a recording. We rang and rang, were almost walking away (with no place to stay), when someone finally came to the door. He just happened to hear it from his apt at the top of the building. I would not stay at this hotel if my arrival time was anywhere close to their closing time, which is 8 pm.
The location is good (near to the Piazza San Stefano which we enjoyed) but it is difficult to find. The hotel's name is written on a light fixture at it's locked door.
I/We prefer a hotel where concierge service is throughout the night. Here they close at 8 pm (20.00) so you're given a second key to open the front door. But I would like to stress that the employees are quality people!
quiet street. comfy beds. clean bathroom with walk-in shower and toiletries. coffee, kettle, fridge & microwave available in reception. very close to all places of interest and the water bus. very helpful staff. a small deli shop just a few doors away
there was some noise at night from possibly the plumbing, but this wasn't a problem.
Room was good and had everything you needed. Staff was a great, gave a lot of useful information during our check in! Could drop our luggage off early and print our flight tickets. Great location, middle of the city centrum and could easily walk to S. Marco square.
Tatiana and Judith were wonderful - the hosts. The location was spectacularly central and easy to get to from the water bus. Beds were a bit hard and the steps with suitcases a complete pain, but short lived. No breakfast provided but eateries just around corner.
Comfortable king size bed, good shower & excellent location. Tatiana spoke good English & was very helpful.
A little expensive for 1 person - but so is everything in Venice.
The hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating. Great location, close proximity to waterbus stations and attractions.
Small rooms, although this was expected for the very affordable/low price.
Judith was terrific! Gave us lots of good advice upon our arrival. Our early departure was a problem as we left items in the fridge and we're told someone would be available in the morning. When we went to retrieve our goodies no one was available. Other then that the room and location were ideal for spending time in Venice.
The room was basic but well appointed and maintained. It was always clean and very comfy. The staff were very helpful and always polite. Good location for numerous very nice restaurants on Campo S. Stefano.
Quite far from the train station although directions were provided by the hotel.
A great location. Central to all attractions and just a 150m walk from San Samuele Vaporetto wharf. The staff went out of their way the help us with a late departure, allowing us to leave our bags and change before leaving. Thanks Tatiana and the rest of the staff.
A tiny amount of noise from the nearby restaurant early in the evenings. It didn't affect my sleep and I would stay there again.
Close to town, close to vaporetto stop, nice and helpful hosts, clean room.
No tv, no air, no fan in bathroom, little on the expensive side i think.
The location of Albergo San Samuelle is in a fairly wide, quiet street. Close to two Vaporetto stops and in a pleasant area close to several bars and restaurants. The staff are very helpful and speak English. Their best room, though dark and at the rear of the Albergo, has a king size bed and is worth booking. Good en suites, all very clean and with good daily servicing. Coffee can be had and there is a table for eating food purchased elsewhere.
Lots of steps. No outlook from the rear rooms. Beware! the economy room is just that. It has a small double and very little circulation space, and a 'tired' mattress. The office is not manned from 8pm to 8am. Very much a house with rooms, lacking a homely feeling.
Good location, nice comfy room. Decent value for money
Only small fan to keep cool in room.
It's within easy access from the water taxis and other major attractions. It's on a quiet part of town. Treat this as a place to spend the night and nothing else
I don't know if all hotels in Venice are like that or this one was very old, no air condition, smell like cheese. But the staff are kind and friendly . and I told them that we are on our honeymoon and they give us a room with bathroom otherwise the rooms do not have bathroom. Its a old building and not a classy and not nice.
No air condition, smells funny , very old building , shared bathroom
Staff were friendly and helpful Location is ideal, close to Vaporetto Room was spacious, clean and had a lovely outlook Felt secure Wifi was good Bed was comfortable There was a communal fridge and coffee maker Made our Venice experience easier, more relaxing and better overall
Hotel is just beside the vapuretto stop San Samuele, you can easly reach hotel from there. If you choose to walk, run the risk of getting lost. Hotel is an old house and has enough comfort. Room and toilet was very clean and full equipment. Staff was really friendly and gave us a lot of information about the city. Hotel is almost in the middle of Venezia and because of Venezia is a little city it was always easy to go anywhere. If you want to get a vapuretto, the stop is at the end of the street, you can arrive in 2 min. by walking.
Only thing hotel is not have a big signboard. This is not a big point actually but maybe they can put a board to make everybody finds it easly.
Not an italian (venician) staff Small room Weak wifi No elevator Long broken stairs No staff to help in the bagages No safe box No AC No TV No breakfast
The location of this hotel was perfect, just a few minutes walk to lots of the main attractions. It was also a really attractive hotel, very authentic Venetian in style and great value for money. Tatiana was very helpful in showing us where we should go to eat and visit.
The pillows were quite hard if you're used to much softer pillows! But this isn't a massive complaint, just an observation really.
location, kind staff
We loved the convenient location as well as the people who ran the hotel. They were so helpful and kind. The coffee service in the morning was nice and the facilities quaint.
The staff are really friendly! They took the time to explain the best places to visit, eat, walk etc, and organised a gondola trip for us which was one of our highlights during our time in Venice! Plus the beds are really comfy, and the street is so quite, it really felt like a home from home :-)
