Hotel Centrale  

Excellent breakfast for the price. The staff were mainly friendly and all were helpful. The situation was very good: just a brief walk from an airport bus stop. Very close to the heart of the city and yet a fairly quiet place apart form the problem mentioned below. Overall good value for money.

Two problems. The room smelt of smoke despite the instructions from the hotel that the room was strictly non-smoking and that we had specified a non-smoking room on our instructions. We put up with this from an assumption tha tthere might be a similar problem with other rooms. Howver I feel that the management could take a more proactive line against smoking in the hotel. Unfortunately the noise form outside didn't really make it possible to leave the windows open at night. We did ventillate the room at every opportunity. Secondly there was a serious problem of noise from the couple in the room next door. I had to thump on their door at one point as they were making such a row. At first we thought it must be a family with children who were not under control properly but it was an extremely giggly young woman. They carried on noisy until two three in the morning and as we checked out we noticed that they had an English name, and had booked through your service, so we clearly should have confronted them but did not as we didn't know what language they spoke. Although this was not directly the hote'ls fault it does suggest tha tthe sound insulation was not as good as it might be. I was woken by inexpert sex on two different occasions. (I suggest that they tone down the noise as if they eventually have children the kids will be calling the emergency services thinking that their mother is being murdered.)

On a busy street, but modern windows block noise well so no problem there. Great breakfast included.

The beautiful old building was well kept and modernized. The facilities were excellent and the staff extremely helpful. The breakfast provided was beyond any that I have had in any hotel in Italy.

Old rooms & very old bathroom...no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom

Having stayed at Hoel Centrale many times the great thing about the hotel is the location, a few minutes walk from the bus stop for the airport bus and also very close to Piazza Maggiore. The staff are helpful and the hotel clean and comfortable. We stayed at hotel Centrale for the new year and had a brilliant time. Whenever in Bologna we always try to have a meal at Ristorante du Midi in Via Porta Nova, 4. We have never had a bad meal there and the staff are very friendly and helpful they serve fish dishes as well as being a pizzeria.

Good location

It was really easy to explore the city and located near some amazing restaurants both the large tourist ones and quite back street restaurants.

Location was ideal. Breakfast was good. Our air conditioner was broken but they were able to give us a portable one. Nice staff
